Food from start to finish was excellent. We were there almost 2.5 hours and it seemed like time passed very quickly. We chose the 40 euro prix fixe meal. My wife had the escargot which were tender and flavorful in a light cream sauce. My foie gras was like eating flavored butter. So deliciously rich. Our steak au poivre and sweetbreads for entrees were excellently prepared. Wanted to lick our plates. The two desserts we had were a creme brûlée with a wonderful vanilla glacé and a lemon tart on a smear of marshmallow. This put us over the edge. We had a nice Syrah/Grenache bottle of wine to go along with our meal. Yes we had a lot but the total bill was only 118 euros, about 138 US dollars. Couldn't come close to the price, service, or ambiance in the US La Gentilhommiere offers. I highly recommend eating here if you are in Nancy.
