The Food & Drink: We started with the Octopus Appetizer, and it was cooked to perfection--tender and full of flavor. For the main courses, the Tagliatelle mit Truffle was incredibly creamy and topped with generous, amazing truffle slices. We also had the Spaghetti Gambas, which featured large, delicious shrimp and fresh ingredients. To top it off, we enjoyed four different bottles of wine throughout the evening, and every single one was excellent. The Service: What truly made the night special was the service. We had the honor of being served by Christina, who was absolutely amazing. She provided excellent recommendations and kept us laughing with great conversation all night. It's rare to find a combination of top-tier food and such a warm, engaging staff.

The atmosphere is especially nice and very comfortable. They provided a quick translation for a few of the dishes where my German was challenged. I typically enjoy pasta dishes, however, this particular evening I tried a salad and a grilled salmon plate. The salmon had a very nice presentation being more thinly sliced and breaded before being grilled. Service was solid.

By far my favorite restaurant / restaurant experience in Munich of all time…read more I recall passing by the place a few times when I first moved in the neighborhood, I was always intrigued by the cozy, friendly and vibrant environment Il Gattopardo seems to offer every night. When my boyfriend and I finally had the luck to get a table there one evening, we were blown away by the drinks, the food and the warm welcoming atmosphere. My boyfriend and I have since done countless meals there, and I've organized business dinners, group celebrations or just a quick pasta with a nice glass of wine to light up a mundane weekday evening. Each time, the smooth host of an owner, his lovely mother and team have delivered. I basically love everything about the place from the different small treat they serve with the addictive bread to their seasonal starters, though 90% of the time I cannot resist but order their vitello tonato and/or parmigiana di melanzane, again. The pasta dishes are ever-changing and always super creative and delicious. When it comes to main course, for me, anything veal is a guaranteed winner, without fail. Last but definitely not least, is that there's always great wine in stock - ask for their recommendation if you aren't sure, they give good advice :)
