We were looking for good arroz + marisco/cataplana in the area and fell upon this restaurant due to…read morethe positive ratings. Everything we ordered was delicious from the clams bulhao to the arroz marisco to the Algarve tart (best algarve tart we had on our trip). Even the homemade garlic bread was good. Seafood all tasted fresh, staff was pleasant, and the restaurant had a catchy playlist going too. Only downside was how long it took to deliver our main course after starter. We were seated at a table near the front door; perhaps sit at a table closer to the front for better attention.
Jardim Rústico - Albufeira, Portugal…read more If you're anywhere near Albufeira and don't eat at Jardim Rústico, you're truly missing out. We spent a month in the Algarve and ended up dining here at least 10 out of 30 nights. We kept trying to find another restaurant that could compare--and never did. The food is authentic Portuguese cuisine at its finest. The clams, made from the owner's grandmother's recipe, are hands-down the best I've ever had in my life. Honestly, it doesn't matter what you order--everything on the menu is exceptional. Be adventurous. You won't regret it. The restaurant is family-owned and family-run, which adds so much to the experience. Vitor runs the kitchen and delivers incredible food every single night. His wife Ines runs the front with grace and warmth. Luan and Joah were there every evening we visited, offering some of the best service we've ever experienced anywhere--professional, kind, and genuinely caring. The ambiance is casual, quiet, and cozy--it truly feels like home. Every guest is welcomed like family, and this incredible team goes above and beyond to make each night memorable. If you go (and you absolutely should), tell them the Fanellas from Florida sent you. Jardim Rústico is a gem, and dining there was one of the highlights of our trip.

We ordered the "Algarvian Cataplana," which had a lot of seafood and some very good pork. It was fantastic! To start, my wife had a sangria. The waiter recommended the rosé one, which was a surprise. He brought the sangria in a small pitcher and put the final touches (mixing in some mint) at the table, then poured her glass. We've had sangria all over Spain and Portugal, and this may be the best I've ever tasted (yes, she let me taste). The service was friendly, the pace relaxed, and the energy great. The food is mid. One server really did his best to recover our experience and we are thankful. Cannot recommend. Especially if you are a group of women be wary. I booked this place on June 7, 2026 for an August 15th dinner. I am the maid of honor for a bachelorette party. I landed in albuefiera on August 14th. I got a call from the restaurant. They said that for my reservation we could only sit at the terrace for 1.5 hours. We accommodated as we wanted the beautiful view for this special day. We confirmed via text as well. Upon entering the restaurant was empty. They sat us indoors, far from the ocean terrace view we reserved. I let the host now. He looked at me and ignored me. I spoke again. He walked away. I let our server know, he said that the reservation was last minute and this was the only table available - empty restaurant. I let him know I booked 2 months in advance. He said "no you didn't." I walk to his iPad and ask him if he would like to see my email receipt or texts. He says "no you didn't." Eventually he looks at the iPad and confirms I was truthful. He does not apologize or acknowledge me. He walks to our terrace table and begins arranging it. We eventually sit and the tone is set. He stands with other staff staring, laughing, pointing. He was especially looking at one woman in our party. It made us all very uncomfortable on this special night. Two members of our party kindly ask him if there is an issue or if he can stop. We get a new server, he is amazing. He was kind, tried to break the ice, and turn our experience around. We are very appreciative of this one man in this establishment. Eventually the restaurant filled up. We did our best to enjoy the food and splurged, it was mediocre at best. I'm a New Yorker (we can be tough) who has 14 years of hospitality expeiriencde and 6 years client facing corporate work. I've never felt so unwelcomed in a restaurant. So pointed out. So clearly treated differently then other guests. One member of our party was really hurt by the mean treatment by staff. She couldn't eat or enjoy, she cried, and left the bachelorette celebration. The night ruined. I cannot recommend this place, especially considering all of the positive reviews. A once in a lifetime celebration was really stained by this experience. I paid and tipped my server directly, happy to leave rather than move upstairs for cocktails and dessert. 3 of my group spoke to management. They called today, August 16,2026) to apologize. The manager asked, "What can I do to fix this I feel really bad." I suggested a comp as we do not want to go back there. He said no. The attempted apology feels really ingenious. Sorry means action, change. Leaving this here, especially if you are women be wary. This is the last I'll think of it and we move on. Take care.

The inside is very warm and welcoming and is much nicer than you would expect if you just went by outside appearances. At the very front is a large grill and all the meat is grilled. It smells wonderful. They do a very good take out business. On both occasions that we were there I think we were the only tourists. The first visit was at lunch and we shared a lt. of sangria and strips of Iberian black pork. One serving was more than sufficient for 2. We asked about the mixed meat grill for 2 and the waiter described it and said that it was actually large enough for 3 people to share. We enjoyed our lunch very much and my husband was intrigued by the mixed meat platter and he wanted to try it. The platter really is massive and had - beef steak, pork chops, pork slices, spareribs, chicken, turkey breast and sausage. It came with fries and rice. We enjoyed all of the meat. The beef steak and turkey breast were a bit dry but there was more than enough of the other meat. We both ate so much but it was so good. This restaurant is very popular with families and they were very busy. The service was good. The food was excellent and good value for the quality and quantity. We would return but I don't think we would order the mixed meat platter again. It is very good value but too much food for 2 people.

We both ordered the prix fix and they let me substitute my beef dish for the pigeon. My most memorable dish was the sea scallop and truffle ravioli- delish! The lobster was also cooked perfectly. I was so full by the next dish that I couldn't finish- although both the pigeon and beef were tasty. The dessert was refreshing- not a huge fan of the orange in the middle but loved everything else. The egg and caviar with smoked salmon was a nice treat. The course looked like I've seen before but the smoked salmon and preparation was slightly different. Next was the truffle, scallop ravioli. The dish was simply yet complicated in the execution. The whole scallop was in the ravioli and in a rich truffle sauce. Yum! The lobster was simply awesome! Cooked nicely and presented with a great risotto sauce and veggies. The last main course was the beef. It was prepared perfectly and came with great veggie mashed and foams. The sauce was great match to everything. We also had the pigeon. It was made great like the beef and had a nice meaty flavor. Next was dessert. It was a beautifully plate of creams, prepared fruits, coconut, and banana crepe. It tasted as good as it looked! Lastly, I was glad I ordered coffee since it came with a little treat. Overall, a fun experience. Recommended if you want French Portuguese and are in the area! Heads up: - Order coffee at the end and receive a nice treat that goes with it. - The breads are really good. They come with a nice pate and butter. However, you will be charged 4€ per person. - Be careful over eating the bread and pate. I almost ran out of room since I thought the portions were going to be small after the first 2 courses were smaller. - The portions seem to get a little bigger after each course. - Timing of each course can take awhile. Enjoy the experience!
