This is only a review for the bar, at late night "bar hours" for the dive bar, and not for the day time restaurant.
One night I randomly met a group of fab people. Next thing you know we ended up in the Niederdorf and both the Splendid and Regenbogen bar closed. Wow, getting late. So I asked around and someone apprehensively told me the Grabli bar down the street is still open. Why the apprehension?
We all stood in front of the entrance, looks dodgy at 4am. Was that a bouncer upfront? The doors flew open, with two drunkards staggering off. We went in... but also fastly escaping was the equivalent of how it must have smelled like if the whole world farted at once. Didn't take us long to run off and sober up. I think I almost cried.
I then ran into the same guy who told me about this bar and he said it's pretty bad there, he doesn't even go there himself but he figured he told me about it since I asked. I told him about my experience and he laughed, seemingly as if he expected only such a response.
I've been to many dive bars in my time but this one tops off the dive definition... if you're ever out in this part of town and the Splendid and Regenbogen bar are both closed, it really means it may be time for you to go home. But if you really insist on staying out, take a cab to the Industrial area. read more
