This is not normal for me but I chose to have beer with my food instead of water because it was cheaper. But it is Germany so when in Rome, I guess. The food was excellent and service was helpful. It was lively but not crowded so I was seated immediately. I recognized a lot of familiar dishes on the menu. If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant for lunch in Dusseldorf, I can recommend DongWu.

I ordered the Food Nr. 7 for take away. 13,90 Euro. At home I tried to eat it. They were pieces of chicken, sauce, rice and vegetables. The rice was ok, the sauce was ok too. But I had to spit out almost all the vegetables again. It tasted like rotten meat. The chicken pieces were tasteless and sinewy. That was my first and last time there!

This chain of hot pot restaurant is apparently everywhere. I like the one we have in Flushing, NY. Therefore I had high hopes going here, especially seeing how packed it was on a Monday night. We were looking for mostly veggies, added a fish, some shrimp paste, and some lamb slices. As I was ordering, I notice that the prices were very expensive. When the food arrived, I realize that the portion sizes were quite larger than what we are use to in the US. Regardless, the prices were still higher than what we pay here for similar quality. The ingredients were decent, but the soup bases lacked flavor, so overall it was an average hot pot experience. Word of advice, make a reservation. Two of us showed up around 6:00pm on a Monday night and had to wait close to 45 minutes for a table.

Tang Wang, unassuming from the outside, is an establishment of authentic, tasty Szechuan cuisine. The baked fish that we so wanted was two river fishes crispy fried sitting atop a pile of potato, rice cake, lotus root, cauliflower and other vegetables. Other highlights include the green crunchy vegetables ( I can much on that all day) and the spicy tripe dishes. They also have fried sesame balls that we ordered to round out our spicy meal. Freshly fried, the balls were crispy and the red bean filling nice and sweet.

I hoped for the best and ordered beef noodle soup with green veggies, but what I got was almost black, cold and tough sliced meat, sliced tomatoes, instant noodles and hot oil water. And my server didn't seem to speak German or English. There are so many delicious options in the area - just steer clear of this place.

The only suggestion is they are missing the noodles. The meat and seafood are high quality with lots of choices. The sushi could be better as there was too much rice than sashimi chunks. There is no wasabi so this might have been toned down for the elderly or those not familiar with Japanese horseradish. Still staff is friendly and food is delicious. I had the curry chicken dish. The chicken was thin and all white meat. The veggies were crispy. We had lunch and would return.
