Zum Brunnergarten is a bit off the beaten path (located in Luitpold Park) but our Airbnb host…read morerecommended it. It's apparently his favourite beer garden in Munich. It's a mix of German and Balkan food. We dropped in on a Thursday afternoon (around 1:45pm) and it was filled with a small group of German seniors enjoying the sunshine. Seems like a lot of regulars come here. There's no English menu (we asked) but our server was extremely helpful and spoke excellent English. The menu consists of bread, sausages, warm food, small plates and grilled dishes. Their drink menu is extremely cheap and reasonable. - Radler (€2,90 for 0,5L) - they mix their radler with 7 Up. Not much taste wise but it's light. - Weissbier (€3,20 for 0,5L) - supposedly malty but to me, it was light. Typical German beer. - Pfannkuchensuppe (€3,00) - German pancake soup. Broth is a light, clear soup; reminded me of chicken noodle soup. The strips of pancake were interesting but plain. - Pommes (€3,00) - a side of thin cut fries with a package of curry ketchup. These reminded me of McDonald style fries. Decent filler. - Grillteller (€12,90) - served with djuvec rice, raw chopped onions and ajvar (red bell pepper and oil sauce). The grilled meat platter included a spicy sausage, two cevapcici, kalbsleber (calf liver) and pork. All the meat was excellently grilled but our favourite cuts were the pork (juicy and moist) and spicy sausage (tasty with a slight kick to it). Worth a visit especially if you want a more local beer garden experience.

Need reservations if your party is big but I sat inside at the bar. The bartender was nice, gave me an English menu. Ordered a light beer, it was cold, delicious and what I needed after walking around forever. I ordered a weinerschitzel, it came with a jam and french fries. It was awesome fried stuff with a cold beer after a day of traveling and walking. There was music playing, the inside was decorated with Lebkuchenherzen, gingerbread heart cookies. You can tell it gets quite popular and it's good. I don't have anything to compare it to but would recommend for a nice bite to eat.

A wonderful, fun place, very busy with locals and tourists! Service was top-notch! Decor and vibes were full Bavaria! We ordered a spritzer and beer, then dined on veal heart and traditional pork schnitzel. Both dishes came with potatoes, veggies, and a dark brown gravy. Delicious all! We dined next to a local, Alfred, and enjoyed great conversation during the meal. He was very helpful with the menu! Highly recommend you stop by Wirsthaus for an authentic Bavarian experience in a delightful atmosphere!

Returning from a day trip out to Hop Fields and German Hop Museum we took a different street exit and popped out directly inside this Wirtshaus biergarten. Wunderbar! The food is a full step above what is served over at Hofbrauhaus. I ordered the classic Sauerbraten and the wife had Paprikaschnitzel, which was by far the best Spicy Paprika Schnitzel we ever had. Very different style, bright red sauce, lots of of fresh red peppers and just the right amount of heat. A work of art! Ask for the Schnitzel to be breaded and fried extra crispy ... you can thank me later. The classic mixed desert plate was also on point. We stopped in a few days later and sat inside at the bar, watched the bartender tap a special wooden keg. He didn't even ask, simply poured us 2 Helles and brought them over. I guess we are now ehrenamtliche Stammgäste. Nice!
