It's a little upscale, and so caters to an older crowd, and not so much the Aachen students. So if you want to get away from the students, this is a good place to go. She was very attentive and even gave me a free map of Aachen as well as explained how to get to certain places. She also let me try some of the local Aachener Printen. She was so nice. The restaurant dates back to the 1600s. The decor felt like traditional german decor. The restaurant is several levels and has seating out front as well. As you enter the building, you see dark wood and German style booths. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us tablets that had the menu on them. The items were in German, French and English. My host told me it was a former brewery converted to a restaurant. The beer from the brewery is called Oecher, a dark lager which was tasty. The menu had English translations at the end of the German descriptions. My host and I had the roasted Pork Knuckle and Kale with potatoes, my colleague had sausage and Sauerkraut (See photos). We all thought our dishes were very good and were more than satisfied with the portions. Service was good. I'd go back.
