Yes. It's a rest stop. While the amenities you expect in a rest stop are rather ordinary here, it's the surroundings that should impress and make this stop stand out. I think it might be the only rest stop on this road between Gardiner (and Yellowstone Park) and Livingston.
There are picnic tables that can give weary travelers a chance to take a break. There's even a fire hydrant in the dog "rest stop" so even your furry companion can have some relief. A nice feature of this rest stop is the short walking path that takes you down to the Yellowstone river, which is flowing pretty quickly in this area, and from where you can get a very impressive view of Emigrant Peak. Depending on the time of day, it'll be like existing in the middle of a postcard picture.
Even if you don't need the break from driving, stop here anyway just to enjoy the view. And if you're southbound into the park, consider it a preview. If you're northbound from the park, experience it a post-script of what you left behind. read more
