PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!! This hotel is beyond disappointing for being a Marriott property! The…read morefront desk staff in the evening and morning was not bad, and generally helpful but that is the ONLY positive about this place. For starters they advertise a whirlpool/hot tub in the property both online and on a directional sign in the building however there is no whirlpool to be found, and not even an area in the pool room where one might've been at one time. The elevator was a complete death trap and smelled musty, as did the hallways. The room was outdated, dirty, and downright disgusting! There was black mold on the ceiling and in the shower, and there was a left over to go box on the ground from a previous guest. The beds were very overused and old and the all the appliances including the tv were at least 12+ years old. There was also no clock in the room at all. The room was also right next to the highway and the window was drafty so the noise of cars revving and buzzing was constant and kept my family up a lot of night. The worst part of this stay was the giant cockroach looking bug (not 100% sure it was a roach but pretty certain) that came crawling out from behind a picture and onto the wall/ceiling! This place needs to be shut down by the health department or at the very least extensively cleaned and remodeled. As a long time Marriott member I am appalled at this disgrace of a hotel and am most certainly never coming back!!

I had higher hopes for a Courtyard Marriott. However, I was quite disappointed. The nicest part of…read morethe hotel was the group of women who had checked me into my room at midnight is so. Despite the late time, they were quote funny and joyful. My room was mediocre and typical. Beds, mini fridge, etc. However, there was not any soap in the shower so I had to use the 1 bar of hand soap for the shower and the sink. Also, the shower curtain rod was heavily dented in as if someone had been hanging from it previously so I had worried the rod would fall completely. Unfortunately, the internet on the TV did not work during my stay so one could not stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. There is no breakfast included naturally in this hotel. However, one can pay for an expensive Starbucks breakfast. I am a long time Bonvoy member of the hotel, so my breakfast was fortunately included. However, the workers seemed a little uninterested in being there (if they were there at all as one morning I did have to wait a while for someone to show up to the counter). I had only gotten premade things from the cafe (muffins, apple juice, etc) as I did not love the appearance behind the counter. This was overall not a horrible experience. I just had higher standards for Courtyard I suppose. I would come back if I had to but I would prefer to go back to Staybridge Suites which I have gone to before.

Thanks fully someone came to clean it up, but I still had to buy Lysol to disinfect the place. Then two days later I asked for the room to be refreshed and when I came back. Nothing. I go downstairs and asked why and they said well they should have done it. Then I asked if someone could at least empty our trash and give us fresh towels. I was told no one is here to do that and was handed to garbage bags. She said just leave it outside your door. Someone will eventually get it. Then I asked about the towels since I put all of em in the tub thinking my room would be made up. And she said come back later. We don't have any clean one right now. This is super unacceptable and I will never ever stay here again!!!!

During a pandemic, I'm not looking for an open restaurant at a hotel, a hot breakfast...quite frankly I just want it to be clean and especially in these times. In my years of staying at hotels during travel, never an issue. But this place-goodness. I checked in about 7pm for a one night stay as I was in town on business. Had 3 wonderful nights at the Marriott Detroit Wixom but this hotel was closest to my next office I'd be visiting. When I arrived at the hotel, I was a bit surprised by the check in area. It was smaller than a hotel room and just looked really old. Front desk clerk was nice, gave me my key and down the next hall I went which was in another part. As soon as I opened the door to the hallway, completely uncomfortable. Tiny space, dirty carpets, men just standing right next to my room near the stairs. Upon entering my room, I was shocked to see the conditions. There were bug shells all over my kitchen floor, gray roly poly bugs dead on the carpet. A sign on the floor letting me know the hot water would be shut up from 8am-5pm the next day. I immediately check my bed due to the other conditions and discover my comfortable with black spots all over it and a sheet so thin that I thought it was dirty. The tv sits on a desk and does rotate so I just try to ignore the conditions, turn the tv towards the bed and I'm immediately met with sticky dirt all underneath that spot where the tv had been turned. Could I have called the front desk and requested a different room? Something told me that if all these things were wrong, another room would be completely the same so just figured I wouldn't unpack and would exit first thing in am. What a night. All I hear the entire time are people loitering in the stair area or slamming that door every 5 minutes. Perhaps I couldn't sleep because of the noise but I'm sure only having a thin sheet because my comforter was dirty played a part as well. The next morning I go to shower, and as soon as the water hits the shower curtain-the smell of straight urine. I couldn't wait to get out of there. As soon as I returned home late night, I emailed Marriott about these conditions. Wasn't looking for any compensation, not even an apology but just felt I'd want to know if these were the types of hotels operating under the Marriott name. A week later, I get an email from the Assistant General Manager, Jennifer. Let's just say I can tell why the hotel looks like that now: she was more concerned with why I didn't make the hotel aware of the issues almost as though I made them up. Refused to accept any ownership of hotel conditions and was very argumentative in all her correspondence. You can walk in a room, your hallways, your front desk and see all the things I saw-yet I need to make your front desk person aware of the 500 things wrong including bug shells, dirty blankets, hallways, urine...come on-it's clearly in every room. And in looking at recent reviews of this hotel, it's clear nothing has changed and that's sad. Run far far away from this one.....

The accommodations are actually studio-style rooms equipped with a full kitchenette, including cookware, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and more. They also offer complimentary washers and dryers though detergent is not provided although they have that for purchase. There were a few hiccups during my stay. On the first morning I requested a light bulb for a lamp that didn't have one. After waiting an hour with no delivery I left for the day. When I returned that evening I found a bulb in my room but it was the wrong type, it had metal prongs instead of the required twist base. I had to call again before receiving the correct one. On the third night of my four night stay my door suddenly became difficult to lock. It took several attempts and breaks to finally get it secured which was concerning because I hadn't experienced any issues with it the first two nights. The hotel has a lot to offer but some attention to detail and maintenance would go a long way in improving the guest experience.

Front office happily gave more, but they looks used and dingy. Had I not seen him pull them from the folded piles, I'd question if they had been washed. Plenty of parking. Well located, many places to walk or within a close drive. Sadly no breakfast.
