Looking through the locked gates on Monday morning, we were tempted by wide, shady paths, and the promise of 300 varieties of birds, but like almost all other public attractions, it was closed on Monday. We came back on Tuesday and started down the shady lane only to find that it got very UNshady very quickly. We did the 4km loop and I would guess that 75% was in the direct sun, and it was 102 by noon today. We also found benches to rest were few and far between, usually clustered together in a picnic area. We were accompanied on our walk by a pack of 5 feral dogs, who were well behaved and stayed with us until we got back into the more populated area ear the main gates. We did see some birds, but not as many as we expected. I would recommend this walk as a nice break from the craziness that Buenos Aires can be, but just don't do it on a blistering hot day. And don't forget your insect repellent. read more
