This place is gorgeous, and I'm sure nature lovers (and Pokemon Go players) appreciate it more than me. Cause it's definitely a 4 star place, but I'm just not a fan because of the mosquitoes. It's still a beautiful place, specially in winter, but I just can't stand them and every time I go I come back home itchy and willing to leave this meatsack of a body to become a digital being. Sign me up whenever. There's tons of plants from all over, fountains and statues and gorgeous stray (or semi stray) cats. It's... it's a pretty place, I promise. It's safe, it's clean, it's got tons of trees, flowers and plants. I personally prefer the Rose Gardens to this, but it doesn't mean it's not amazing. I wish the greenhouse was open to the public, and that they would consider reopening at least one more entrance/exit, cause just having the one (though remodeled, looks great, on Santa Fe Avenue) it's a bit of a headache. Then again, might be cause I'm being followed by a cloud of mosquitoes and I just want out.

Not to be missed for so many reasons. First off, it's free. Second, it's beautiful. Filled with statues, green houses, maintained walking paths, benches to relax, open green space to picnic. We probably spent at least an hour there before walking along the outside of Eco Park (it was closed) and eventually ending at MALBA.

Lovely gardens! Free admission, and a great way to go for a quiet walk. I wish I could go inside the greenhouses, the insides looked amazing. Beautiful statues all over the place. Watch Tarsem Singh's 'The Fall' for a quick cameo of the gardens.

Chalk it up to curiosity. Days earlier we'd been intrigued when driven past Jardín Japonés and when we stumbled upon it while trekking back from somewhere else an immediate decision was made: we're going to this Japanese garden. It was late afternoon and summer in Buenos Aires and it felt like I was walking through fire. The green grass in this park is entirely off-limits as you stroll along sun-baked asphalt paths to view the Japanese structures, sculptures, and water features. There's benches to sit on but they, too, are placed almost entirely in full-sun locations. So my time here was rather brief; I literally couldn't get comfortable. In addition to koi ponds, food/drink stands, and gift shops, this well-curated park also features performances. As I enjoyed a cold drink a gaggle of kimono-clad women passed by en route to the stage where they performed (dance). I can't say I found this park enjoyable but I could see that it would be had I been there on a day and time that wasn't boiling.

Beautiful garden and a nice stroll overall. While it's not as large or elaborate as some of the famous Japanese gardens I've visited in the U.S. and Japan, this one still has its own charm. There's pretty little bridges to cross over, plenty of spots to take photos (you'll often see people lining up for selfies), and some nice traditional structures scattered throughout. I totally missed seeing the koi in the pond! Perhaps it had been drizzling all day? Even though the weather was damp, there was still a decent crowd wandering around. The visitor center is handy if you want a drink, snack, or souvenir. All in all, it's a beautiful little escape from the city noise. You get a taste of Japanese landscaping and that peaceful, Zen feeling right in the heart of Buenos Aires. Worth stopping by if you're nearby.
