I also took the time to break down all my cardboard to be recycled and neatly put it in a box but they declined to take it because it needed to 2x2 feet... throwing it away will be easier. Called to request more information on trash pickup delays and couldn't get a direct answer. It's been 2 weeks, and last week's delayed trash pickup was supposed to be resolved on Saturday. I called to ask for a statement credit since the services weren't rendered, and was told no and to keep waiting for the next scheduled pickup. I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB and anyone else affected by this should do the same. The least this company can do is credit customers for not fulfilling their end of the contract. REPUBLIC SERVICES, pay your employees fair wages and make this right for your customers by issuing credits for missed services this month. 2 out of 3 recycling pickups were half emptied. I double check the bin to ensure it was packed loosely. There is no excuse. it appear the truck driver is very inefficient (does not make sure/check if bins are fully empty). They didn't pick up my trash yesterday, even though they picked up everyone else on the street. The bin was where it always is, easily accessible. I called this morning when I realized it was just me, and the woman on the phone assured me it was just a mistake, and a truck would come by before 6pm. At 7pm, I pulled my trash bin in so my neighbors wouldn't have to look at my trash pile up on the street. Their driver broke my can. When I requested a new one, it took them weeks to send me a email requesting to confirm the can I needed and my address. I responded and they never responded or sent a can. Picked up cans are often left in the street. Pickup times seem to vary by hours at random. What we pay is not worth the service, the value is lacking. read more

They are the worst waste management company to communicate with. I requested a bulk pick up for items I've placed. It was delayed 1 day. I called the next available business day and was told they are on route. They were delayed again. On the next available business day, I called and was told that the driver who was supposed to pick up did stop by decided to NOT pick up due to how much it was. They took a picture. An agent had indicated to me based on the picture, they should've have still gotten it even if extra needed to be charged. Mind you, by this point, I called 3 times. I called another time, because I was told they'd provide me with an ETA supposedly my case was in "Escalation". My husband catches the driver drive by and pick up nothing!!! I called for the 5th time, and they indicated me the operation service has deemed the items unable to pick up and if I wanted each individual item to get picked up, I'd be charged 61.87$ per item. Unbelievable service, the only thing I'd ever rely on this company unfortunately is for garbage services, other than that, I would never ever call them for any other sort of service again. They are incompetent, unreliable, and a terrible waste management company. I'm unsure why my city even decided to contract with this sort of waste management service. Service has gotten so bad. Drivers dump trash everywhere. They used to actually get out of trucks and pick up what they dump onto street. Now? Too lazy. And...after dumping cans they drive down a few feet to end of driveway blocking it then drop the cans. Can't get out of garage. I'm disabled and having to walk down steep incline to move cans so I can get out of garage is dangerous. And.... Other cans are dropped from high position that they fal I l over onto their sides. Last week we had put out bags of garden waste. Properly tagged. And set away from cans to give driver room. Again he has to get out of truck to dump these bags. I noticed when I went to leave the bags had been ripped open and dragged and the cuttings were scattered everywhere. I went back and checked my ring. Looked as if driver after dumping the can closest to bags instead of raising the fork he left it low and purposely dragged the bags till they split. Also... my husband left two 1/2 gallon clear plastic jugs properly taped lid for pick up. That would mean driver has to actually get out of truck to pick them up. Did he ? No! The person on the phone was great. I have noticed that the recycling has not been emptied fully, several times & the items are not stuck. My neighbor has had the same issue. I would also ask that Republic Services notify its customers in a mass email whenever they are not going to be able to pick up the trash bins & provide instructions on what to do. Residents were writing things on the internet, questioning what was going on. Some residents are on vacation & having others bring in their trash so it would be nice to know when there is a delay. If I could rate this company a zero, that would be the honest truth and fact of this company's service. This is the worst company of waste service I have ever experienced, the only reason people use them is because I believe they are the only waste service provider in my area, if not my whole community would use another service. This company pickup employees are the worst and the most laziest workers in the industry, they literally don't take all the trash out of the bins, they also intentionally miss pickups from homes I believe because they want to do over time. The customer service people you call are pretty much oblivious in actually sending these complaints to the owners of the company or perhaps they are also intentionally not wanted to file complaints of what is actually going on. I once had the waste company come up with an excuse of saying they don't pickup cardboard boxes if they are not broken down, when I sent them a picture of my neighbor having full unbroken boxes sticking out of their bins and still have the waste people pick it up, but left mines, the company quickly sent someone over to pickup my recycling bin. Still till this day, they continue on missing pickups and leaving trash bins half full still. They even missed my whole block a couple of times. After hosting a reception I scheduled for 8 bags of waste, both online and called to confirm it. It was not picked up. I love across from a high school, I'm new to the neighborhood and now I'm the nasty house with stinky garbage. After 30+ min on phone with Supervisor Michael they said will pick up bags for $5 per bag and Monday the recycle. Why am I paying full price for their continued missed service. When I asked if next regular pick up my recycle would finally be taken, the answer was yes, I said why now and not for the past 6 weeks. Because a complaint was filed. So even after paying full price for my weekly service and repeated misses, you also have to call in, be angry and demand escalation to a supervisor, file a formal complaint and then the service is supposed to begin. My driver who decided to take the garbage bin but ignore 8 trash bags next to it should have minimum a write up in record. They told me to make sure the lid was down on all the garbages, and I did exactly as they said, but this is the second week my trash has not been taken....the one with the yellow lid. This company is absolutely HORRIBLE! We just moved and the new house came with the smallest size garbage can. We pay for the bigger can. I was told last week they would switch out the cans on my garbage day and to leave it out until 5. By 4:30 I called because it was not switched out. This company is tremdously hard to communicate with whether it's through email or phone. I've requested to schedule a bulk pick up service and wanted a price quote on a dumpster. No replies to my emails. When I was speaking with a representative on the phone, I was told that the person I needed to speak to is not in, but they'll call me back as soon as possible. Too bad I can't give them a 0. A month ago they broke my can. Got home and the wheels were coming off the bottom. I ordered a new larger can as I've been needing one anyway. Was told by the rep that they'd take my old can at the next pickup and drop off the new. Instead, they took my old can that same day. I had nowhere to put my trash but decided to wait until my next pickup day which is on Wednesday's figuring I'd get the new larger can anyway. Wednesday comes and goes. No can. I called the next morning and was assured I'd have a can by the end of that day or in the morning at the latest. OK. However, a few hours later they call me back to say I'll get my can on the next pickup day and the reason the new can wasn't delivered was because there was no old can to take. Duh! They took my can last week. I asked them what am I supposed do with another weeks worth of trash until then and was told that if I left my trash out front in a bag they'd come by and get it the next day. I wasn't happy about that as there are stray cats around my neighborhood but OK. Well, it's after 4pm the next day and my bag of trash is still sitting in front of my house. Soooooo I have no idea which employee rated them 3 stars because as a customer I can tell you they are crap!!! I had a bulk pick up scheduled for June 29 prior to that date I called and rescheduled it to July 13. Paid for someone to come and help me move a bunch of things out of my house and yard. Guess what? They didn't show up! I called about 1:30pm on the scheduled pick up date and was told my appointment had been canceled. Are you kidding me? No it was not! And then the person tells me that whoever rescheduled my appointment should have canceled it completely but instead she change the date in the same order so their computer read it as a cancellation and didn't take it as a rescheduled pick up! The soonest someone could be out to my home was the following Friday so not only did my neighbors and myself have to be inconvenienced of looking at a bunch of trash for another week but so would be houseguest visiting the weekend!!! Refused to get me a supervisor on the line. They had to send a message and it would take 24-48 hours! It's Tuesday still NO CALL!!! So I call, same bs and would not put a supervisor on the phone! Took message got a return call finally about 2 hours later and she's calling from that call not Tuesday! She's full of crap because she proceeds to try to tell me as though I made some type of a mistake and they came to pick up stuff and nothing was outside! I don't know who you think you were talking to but I am far from stupid! There is no way on this green earth that I missed an appointment! First of all I scheduled it around my life and when I would have time and someone available to help me pull everything out. The only great thing about the call was the fact that she put me on the schedule for someone to come out tomorrow morning instead of Friday. Garbage not picked up and 3 calls and endless promises and still no pickup. Pickup day is on Thursday and they picked up all but 4 cans on Thursday and then never set out another truck. Called their office and told no problem they would pick up before 5pm. That never happened and so today, Friday, call them twice with the same promise that they would send a truck and 3pm no and still no truck. Called the City of Stockton and got the runaround. Wish I could give them 0 stars but this will have to do. Last Wednesday (Oct 17th) the recycling guys didn't pick up our bin. Made a phone call to them and was told to leave it out and they would pick it up on Thursday. By 3 pm when the bin was still there, I called them and they told me that they have until 7 pm to pick it up. AND IT NEVER GOT PICKED UP. Friday morning comes around and I call them they let me know that they will come Monday. Monday comes around and there's no one to pick up the bin. So I call them again Tuesday morning which and I speak with a supervisor (CHRISTINE) who tells me that she's going to have this problem taken care of that day. She also told me she'd call me to update me that day and never heard back from her. As of the time of this review it is 5 pm and the recycling bin is still there. I just got off the phone with them and they tell me that there's nothing to be done. I even asked if I can just leave the excess recycling waste out there and they basically just told me they MIGHT pick it up and if the do I MIGHT BE CHARGED. So not only did they not do their job, now I might be charged because of it, awesome. (FYI I used all my stickers already) I like how I'm supposed to solve this problem when it's not my problem and I've been in contact with them for a week now. I gave them a week to fix the problem and Did everything right from my end but still no service or even a good response. But they'll still collect the full payment at the end of the month. This is the problem when there's no competition, when there's a mistake no one seems to care because you HAVE TO USE THEM. And after 4-5 phone calls and a week, I find out today (OCT 23) that because of a SYSTEM UPDATE THEY DELETED MY RECYCLING AND YARD WAST BIN on their end. This is why it never got picked up. I got no NOTIFICATIONS WHATSOEVER. They knew this was happening and were just handling it on a call to call basis. How is this a service company? How about sending me a mail/email and having me double check my account online? Seems easy enough, but nope. They just gave me the run around with false scheduling and assurances. THEY NEVER SOLVED ANYTHING, I'M STILL BACKED UP WITH TWO WEEKS OF RECYCLABLES AT MY HOUSE AND I'M PAYING FOR A SERVICE THAT NEVER HAPPENED. My municipality used to bill me for one month's service in advance, which is understandable, Republic now bills me directly for 3 months in advance all of which is due within 20 days and that is what I consider unfair. I have noticed over the last few months that several people in the vicinity have more than one and as many as five. I called today about obtaining another one. What a joke. Just now I went out to bring our cans in from pickup day and noticed my garbage bin hadn't been emptied. I made the original call in to report it and within 10 minutes a dispatcher had called me back AND a truck had come by to get it. I was pleased by how polite and professional they were and shocked by how quickly it all happened. That's service you don't get much anymore.
