The worst Casey the Operations manager did our trash pickup and thought our driveway needed work for his trucks. He did not tell us we needed to do anything. In Fact, he did nothing. Months later he sent a truck that was too long to make our pickup. The truck got stuck and had to be towed. It left huge trenches all over our yard. Instead of apologizing for the Damage And telling us what we need to do to continue service he cancels our service and left a dumpster to rot. Now he will not return our calls. read more

(This review is for Owensboro, KY - not San Francisco, CA) Honestly, I would not recommend this company to anyone. Their prices have gone up three times in our two years of using them; each time without explanation. The last price hike was a $20 increase per quarter! Who increases prices that much without cause or explanation? When I called to question the increase, the representative agreed that there had been a 'slight' increase. No, $20 is NOT a slight increase. It's robbery. I cancelled my service with them but was informed it would cost $30 for them to pick up their toter! It is ridiculous for a company to charge $30 to deliver a toter to use AND to pick up. There are other companies that have the same or better service for HALF the price. I know because I just signed on with one. Republic Service - be warned - you are not the only game in town. read more

By far the worst customer service we have ever had. I called today to cancel service and the rep tried to say I had 3 of their toters, 2 trash and 1 recycling toter. We actually only have 1 toter that belongs to them and they are trying to charge me ANOTHER $60 to pick it up. I have never in my life had this much trouble with trash service. Our trash company of 5 years was bought out by Republic Services. We received the bill with a letter stating that our service would not change with the new company with a 3 month bill. We paid up our 3 month trash service that same day. The next week after being paid we received a letter saying that they would no longer pick up our trash unless it was sitting next to the road. (someone I know was told to leave theirs across the street on the neighbors property because they refused to turn the truck around) I live in a rural area where some driveways are extremely long. My husband just had surgery and has not been released from a DR to do any household chores for at least another month, which we also told them. This means he can not drag a heavy trashcan all the way down a 150' driveway. We contacted Republic Services about the change and they sent out a Route Supervisor who basically told us that it was our problem and we could find a different carrier. They also stated they had enough customers they didn't care how many people they lost. We called for a cancellation of service and refund which we was told would be refunded at the end of the billing cycle...(3 months later) Keep in mind my service was paid up for the NEXT 3 months...not this current month. I asked for someone above them to talk to and finally worked out the refund for within 5 business days (we will see) The customer service supervisor we spoke to which was not from our area apologized profusely for the behavior of the Owensboro location. After posting on FB looking for a new carrier, we found that at least 40 other customers also switched service since getting that letter of poor customer service. read more
