I canceled my service with Republic at the end of December 2025. I am still getting past due notices for a trash can removal fee of $55.00. This is the third company that purchased the trash company we originally had pick up our trash. I have talked to several people in their collections department in different states. Our service was in Colorado. Everyone I've talked to says my contract states this or that , I have never signed a contract with a trash company in my life. Republic Services required me to use their trash containers, I used my own with all the other companies I've ever had. Republic Services reached out after my Yelp Review and arranged to pick up my recycle bin at no charge, and credit me for missed pickup days. I appreciate their efforts to make things right. We no longer will utilize the recycling service, since we are not generating much since our initial move in, but will continue the trash pickup, which they performed in a timely manner since we started service with them. Thanks to Arely and the rest of the folks at Republic for their efforts. read more

I am not a customer, but a neighbor. After emptying the trash bins, the Republic employee placed the bins in the middle of the sidewalk. There are written instructions on the lids to place the bins on the street. I am disabled, in a wheelchair, & need to access the sidewalk without blockage. Called Republic & voiced my concern. Go with ANY other trash company. Republic is substantially more expensive and I have almost $30 of fuel and other fees on my bill. Customer service will laugh at you, after being on hold for 30 minutes, when you tell them the reason for leaving is prices and fees. Not to mention, you have to pay a $55 fee to have them pick up your bins, no option to just drop them off locally. I was actually told they don't have a storage facility in GJ even though I drive by it weekly. If they can find a way to charge you an extra fee, they will. If you have another option for trash, do it. Republic is absolutely terrible. read more

Canceled my service with this company in March of 2025 and started with new locally owned/operated service. As of July 2025 was still getting robocalls from Republics billing office ( located in Texas ) that my account was past due ! This was despite having sent their billing office written notice that I was canceling my account. Then, had to talk to one of their service reps not once but twice to try to get them to cancel service! A real headache trying to deal with this company- a typical example of dealing with a giant corporation, based somewhere other than locally ! I have had them for just TWO cycles and both times they did not empty my cans entirely. Nothing was stuck, nothing was in the wrong bin. I called and was told that someone would be by to pick it up. We were stuck with Republic Services for a year as our only option for trash pickup, and not one billing cycle passed when I didn't have some problem I had to contact them about. Their customer service is terrible, and it took almost an hour to resolve issues each time. We finally got another trash service in the area so I called and canceled Republics service. NOW they are trying to bill me for several days after I shut off their service saying " ITS POLICY" If republic is the only service you can get I recommend a burn barrel and a monthly trip to the dump. recently raised their rates for a service already over priced. I called them for customer service and was on the line for over two hours waiting for them to talk with me. I discontinued the trash service on feb 8 and they picked up the trash receptacle on the 9 th. now they tell me I have to pay for the month of Feb at a cost of 34 dollars for Feb. great outfit huh!!! Our service has doubled in price in the past 2 years. When you cancel, they charge another $50 to close the account. Awful. Found a better provider and same services for $33/mo. I honestly think Monument baited much of the valley with good pricing to increase users and make the sale to Republic more lucrative. They are extremely expensive and charge you five dollars per bag if you have any extra bags. They also charge you a $20 can removal for not using their services anymore. Customer service is horrible. I would give it less than a one if I could. read more

I miss Monument Waste. Corporate is no good for individual areas and treats all the same. We have had a 6 yd for over 2 YEARS with them. Prices are def. higher and I can't call anyone local for help!? It goes to AZ headquarters for all scheduling and questions. What the hell does someone in AZ know about GJ? The salesman, was rather invasive...kept pushing me...oh we can lower your rate, who are you going with? I told them that I wasn't going to tell him. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away. Had this company for a year and they raised the cost 3 times and changed my pick up day twice without telling me. Customer service is a joke and they charge you to pick up their cans. $20 per can plus admin fee and fuel fee = $50. They said if I didn't pay to pick up their cans then they wouldn't cancel my service. Hoping they go bankrupt soon as nobody I know has ever had a positive experience with them. They just took over our trash company, instantly increased our bill. Then, we didn't pull the trash can far enough onto the sidewalk the day of pick up. The driver got out of the truck to take a picture that it wasn't far enough onto the sidewalk (a move of about 1 foot), to not pick up trash. And now they are going to charge $25 for a separate pick up. I HATE this company. They Charge $137.50/quarter - $45/month and they can't be bothered to move the trash can 1 foot so they can charge an additional $25. read more

I am a local business owner. I was using Rocky Mountain Sanitation. When Republic bought them out, they immediately raised my rates. I decided switch to Humpty Dumpsters. They are locally owned and charge $40 a month less. They also don't lock you into a contract. Cancelling my service with Republic has been a nightmare. Unreliable. Problem solving over the phone seems productive, but then there isn't follow through, no documentation of conversation or solution, no responsibility. They bought out 2 locally owned companies recently. They miss the scheduled pick up more than they actually pick up but won't give a credit for their lack of competency. They have raised the rates almost monthly since taking over. They mail your bill post marked 1 day past the due date and have already attached a late fee to the bill and you can't pay your bill locally anymore. They rarely answer the phones. When emailing to answer cancel services they respond with "we don't accept cancellation via email" They also won't cancel your service until the last day of the month regardless how early in the month you cancel it. They have absolutely no concept of morals or ethics when it comes to doing business. read more

Their fees have gone up so much it's ridiculous! Its a trash service and I went from paying like $66 quarterly to $125. Not to mention they charge for anything extra. I paid my final bill after canceling service with them and still got another bill because they charge you for picking up their own trash cans! If I could give this company no stars I would! As with other reviewers, they came into our city and bought the last two local companies and that's how I had them as my trash company. They increased prices for my dumpsters almost double. Then they charged me $60 extra because they said the dumpster was "overfull". When I complained they sent me the picture the driver took. It wasn't overfull, the lids could easily have been shut then they changed their story and said that was why they charged me $60 because the lids weren't shut. A new local company started up in my town and I signed up with them. Republic Services made it incredibly hard to cancel and then they charged me $92.40 for each dumpster I had picked up. They charged me almost $100 per dumpster, to pick up their OWN dumpsters!!! When I called to complain, they said it was in their agreement to discontinue service!? What agreement??? This company doesnt care about customers or customer service! They will charge you for everything extra they can. They're horrible! If you have a choice, don't use them! read more
