I rented a dumpster It was so easy and there were absolutely no hassles. I appreciate it.

republic services new you all are the worst of the worst! as bad as the trash you pick up! i've only been with them a for about a month and its been trouble from day one! ww purchased a home in collinsville illinois and could even get the service switch on right away because the previous owners had a bill. so i had to keep calling for about two weeks before they got it together and was able to set up a bulk pick up. so after finally getting that done. two weeks head of time. which it was scheduled for march 25th..today is the 26th at 530pm and they still haven't shown up! after calling, calling and calling come to find out every rep i spoke with wasnt local and keep lying like the truck was in route and they were on the way! everytime i asked to speak with a supervisor i was told there wasnt one available. when i finally got to speak with one it was at 4pm she said she would contact the dispatch to see where they were and she would call back. its 533pm you think i've heard from her! absolutely not! if you can avoid this piss poor company please do! sad, sad, sad, the only reason im staying with them is because i have no choice. my water, sewer and trash are all tier together.. read more

I ordered a dumpster, it was delivered, late but delivered. I filled it, they picked it up. But dropped another one off. I didn't want or requested a second dumpster. The operator did NOT speak English. They did not understand the simple concept of only one dumpster. Now there trying to charge me for they dumpster. After 4 months of waiting for a new trash can, after my neighbor decided to take it upon themselves to take one of mine, I am STILL waiting for a delivery of a new trash can. This company really does not care about its customers whatsoever. I've called, they've cancelled on their own behalf, I've called again, been told its out for delivery, cancelled and no warnings again. Its not brain surgery folks. To be honest, I have no complaints about their weekly service in picking up the trash. The problem arose when trying to cancel service. My 96 year old, legally blind mother recently moved from her residence of 66 years. Wanting to cancel service, one can't do it online. You can order service, change service, schedule special service, pay your bill and everything else online, but you can't cancel service. You HAVE to speak to a representative. Then they informed me they use a "3rd party" to pick up THEIR receptacle for a cost of $94. NINETY-FOUR dollars to pick up their own receptacle!! That is outrageous!!! I went to file a complaint on the BBB site but of course, they aren't registered with the BBB. What a surprise! read more

One star is too generous. Do not sign up with this company for your trash service. We recently switched to another company and then received a bill from Republic Services for pick-up of their trash can. Now they are saying that we are past due on the bill that wasn't received until after the date the payment was due. read more

I just signed up for their service. This was supposed to be my first pick up day. No show. I called around 3 to see if there was a problem. Instead of them checking to make sure my garbage was picked up they told me they have until 6 PM. Well they close at 5. I was told if they didn't pick up today I can call tomorrow. They are closed tomorrow. Looks like I chose the wrong service. read more

This past Monday was the Martin Luther King Holiday so our trash pickup should be picked up on Saturday instead of our usual Friday. I have my trash outside waiting to be picked up but haven't seen a truck all morning. I guess I'll have to call them on Monday for a pickup because it's pretty full. read more

Horrible horrible company. Got stuck with them when they bought out the original company. They jacked the price up, it took 2 days and 3 calls to cancel. This was months ago. Then I get a collection letter out of the blue today. They said it was for picking up their trash can when I canceled. $40 for them to come pick up their property?? These people are crooks. I called Republic Services on State in Alton Illinois for service for a blk item. The lady in Alton Illinois state street office was so nice .She was very clear as to where and when my item would Be picked up. Avoid them at all costs. It took 53 minutes to cancel my service and they still didn't cancel it correctly. No email address or fax number is provided by them on purpose because they don't want customers to have anything in writing from them. The drivers were always great, but the way they run the rest of their business really stinks. read more

Customer Service is non-existent. Call at any time of day and you'll find yourself on hold for at least 20 minutes. They don't answer calls, they don't call back, and when they decide to actually call back they will not say a single word and leave you to just hang up and not hear from them. My trash has been skipped for pickup more than once and I have a camera in my front yard that shows them picking up my next door neighbors trash but not mine? If I could mark zero stars I would. Price increases nearly every month, plus they add a fee for gas but provide no evidence of how they come to it. Just cancelled service and they now charge $120 to pick up the trash can, with no option to deliver it yourself. Plain and simple crooked company. I would hope that Madison County and Godfrey would take some legal action against their gouging. read more

Only getting a One Star from me because ZERO Stars is not an option. HORRIBLE company. Customer service is non-existent. After they purchased our OUTSTANDING local waste disposal company (Sanders) they sent emails and snail-mail letters stating that the price would not change and that auto-pay and paperless billing would remain as it is. LIES! The next month, the price increased by 50%, auto pay stopped, and I got a paper bill in the mail ON THE DUE DATE! Got home too late to pay in person so I tried to pay online. Got the error "Online payments are not available for this account" and then they hit me with a late fee. They have skipped our street and once I finally got someone to answer the phone, I was told "ya, sorry about that. The truck will be by on the next scheduled pickup date next week." Horrible service!! We were supposed to get trash pick up on Friday, December 23 but due to the bad weather they cancelled which is understandable. However, they didn't pick up at all for the week and sent a text saying they would resume next Friday. Other trash services that we have had would pick up the very next day. When we called for a refund for that week not being picked up they wouldn't refund us any money and said that they are picking up next week. It's not right to screw people when you know what you did was wrong and not make it right. read more

be aware if you cancel they charge over $85 to remove your trash can. and if you do it at the befinning of the month they charge you for thw whole month. read more

horrible experienc, trash was picked on Saturday due to a holiday and when they took my trash they also took the can. called Monday morning to order a new one they told me it wouldn't be there till Friday July 14th, so I asked what I should do with my trash for five days and they lady told me to wait on the curb with my bags to when they drop off my can I can put the trash in and they will empty it. like seriously? wait outside so my trash can be taken when them taking the trash can is their mistake. that's ridiculous read more
