It was such a delicious treat! This gelato shop is located on Ashford Avenue in Condado. There were…read moremounds of gelato with so many unique flavors & combinations. We just couldn't pass it up. So, let's talk about the history. It all started out as "Anita La Mamma del Gelato" in Tel Aviv back in 2002. "La Mamma del Gelato" that you see on the walls inside this shop represent the mother (Anita Avital) & son (Nir) duo who started it all. It's grown to many more locations to include NYC and Miami. There's even a sub-brand of Anita Gelato called "Golda Gilda" that is very popular in Israel. I have to be honest when stating that I've never heard of either gelato brands until seeing this shop near our hotel. We each decided to get the smallest cup size that includes 2 flavors. I selected Pavlova Mixed Berries and Chocolate Pistachio & Kadayif. There was a white chocolate version of it as well, but I decided to stick with the traditional milk chocolate. I don't remember what flavors my husband picked out. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed mine. I especially loved the chocolate pistachio one. That layer of pistachio cream & crispy kadayif was delightful. I didn't taste any pavlova in the mixed berry gelato, but it was still wonderful. They're very good about giving out samples for those who are unsure and want to get the perfect flavor. I wish we had returned to try more. It was a delicious & relaxing experience. The service was great. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. We fortunately arrived in the late afternoon when it wasn't too busy. Definitely do not pass this one up when in Condado.

For the record, this is the location that is in Condado and not the one that is in Old San Juan. It…read morewas right by our AirBnB and what a good problem to have. We went three times during our 3 day visit (it would have been 4 had my partner had his way). Every single time we tried something new and I just want to say that this is good gelato. They gelato is delicious with unique flavors. The staff is always kind and works incredibly quickly to get people moved through the line. They are open what feels like all day and into the late evening. And it is reasonably priced for a good amount of gelato. Really, you can't go wrong here. I didn't encounter a bad flavor. Plus, they let you try flavors so give it a whirl before you decide. Definitely a place to stop in if you're in the area. Maybe even multiple times if you like it as much as we did. No shame!

It's hard to say anything bad about this place!…read more The line is long, but it's full of excitement and gawking at everyone's gelato and seeing their faces when they take their first taste. Also, the line moves pretty quickly. At $7.19 for the regular (two flavors), it's not cheap (PR McDonald's vanilla ice cream cone is $0.99 for comparison!), but it's definitely worth doing (at least) once. The flavors are all extremely unique and it's a mystery what may be in a specific flavor (e.g. Pavlova and mixed berries), but you can try to your heart's content for free. In the end, I doubt there is a "bad" flavor. My favorites were cookieman (like Oreo cookies in a vanilla base) and chocolate cookie. Pistachio was good, but a taster would have sufficed. Sadly, they did not have a mint and chip!

Very cute interior, clearly well thought out and designed to be a photo/insta location. The colors and decor all flowed well. But beyond that, they have wonderful flavors! We tried about 7 in our group and they were all good. Tasted high quality and you could distinguish what the flavor was supposed to be. Fresh made on site I would guess. The order process is a little difficult w use they have so many flavors spread out over about 15 feet of displays. Hard to pick what you want without running back and forth to see if you would miss anything! The seating areas were nice and had lots of seating. Disappointed to see that the bathroom was out of order and just had an envelope with a handwritten message on it. Really took away from the experience. But would enjoy again!

It was dim inside, which created a cooler environment. Their menu mostly consists of breakfast sandwiches and drinks (coffees). I went with their ham and cheese sandwich. They asked me which of two breads I wanted: tostado o sobao and if I wanted mayonnaise or butter. I asked which bread is more popular and she said sobao since its more buttery and softer and I opted for the mayonnaise. After ordering, I was given a beeper, so when it went off, it meant my food was ready. We took a seat and noticed the art on the walls. After about 7-10 minutes, my food was ready. It was a pretty decent sized sandwich, cut in half. The cheese was perfectly melted and the bread was slightly toasted. The bread was soft as mentioned, and a tad bit sweet. The ham was savory and delicious. I do think the mayonnaise helped give everything more flavor. The paper they wrapped the sandwiches with was cool; it almost looked like newspaper but it wasn't. My friends ordered other versions of sandwiches and tried the empanadas and coffee - all of them were satisfied. I would highly recommend based off flavor as well as customer service. We felt at home, and one of the staff members was patient with my friend practicing her Spanish.

We also had coffee, hot chocolate and milk. The Cubanos (no mayo, yes butter, mustard and pickles) were _delicious_. 5/5. They were also huge. The waffles were really great, too. Everything else was good. The place was comfortable, cosy, nicely decorated (the Yelp photos are a bit dated). The people were nice, and helpful. And the prices were average. So, all in all, a really nice impression. Definitely a good place to go.
