Let me first say, I'm usually a tough customer to please, but honestly, I'm so happy with the work that Christian, Daniel and Juan did in our home. The team was here for three full days. Well, now that the law suit is over....yes, I said law suit! I will write a review. I don't know how Dan Henderson stays in business. We chose his company because the other three estimates from local paint companies would not repair a hole along our roof line where the squirrels would get it. His was not the cheapest estimate but because he would "repair" the hole, we opted to go with him. We hired him for the exterior painting of our house. Red flags began when two workers power washed the house. That was the only day that two workers were at our house at the same time. They left our hose running, it rained later that day so the hose ran all night before it was noticed when the water pressure in the morning was low. We were assured it wouldn't happen again. When the work started, there was only ONE worker that came every day. We were told there was a back log of jobs and unfortunately Dan could only send one worker. It ended up being three separate people. The hose was left running again after clean up one day. The contract stated "two coats" of paint and only one coat was applied. We have exterior cameras. The porch was painted the wrong color, it was supposed to be a darker gray than the light grey house but was painted a brownish color. Some areas of the house were missed and there was no touch up done. There are drips and over spray on a lot of areas. The job was never finished and the hole was never fixed. Dan Henderson tried to get us to pay another $675 to paint the fascia along the roof line saying that it wasn't in the contract....it's in the contract. Not only did he not paint the fascia, there is still tape left hanging along the third story roof line. When we told him to just finish the job according to the contract, he said he wouldn't touch our house anymore until we signed a "change in work order". We refused to sign as we just wanted the contract to be honored. He then proceeded to place an illegal construction lien on our house. Illegal because in the state of NJ a process is required, first a "notice of unpaid balance" has to be sent and then it has to go to arbitration...none of which was done. We were forced to hire an attorney. The attorney wrote to him and told him to remove the lien and he refused....so we went to court. Dan Henderson didn't even show up to court. It was a simple case because he filed it illegally. It has been removed and he is ordered to pay the legal fees. We still have an unfinished house. Have since hired a handyman and had the hole repaired. I see Mr Henderson has changed his response. If he was telling the truth, he would have shown up to court. Use your better judgement and have a look at the pictures, they are just a sampling. He absolutely did nothing for free and we had all documentation to prove the porch color was wrong and there was only one coat applied. As I said, we have exterior cameras. Job not finished, he was in breach of contract. Yes, it did go to court and No, he did not drop the lien of his own accord. It was court ordered. read more

I called to have my deck repaired. The initial interaction with Danny was professional. My project was delayed several times due to shipping of the lumber needed for the deck, most likely a result of Covid. After the deck was "completed" there was several issues including split wood, missing bolts, irregular placement of rails and missing rails. After calling to express my concerns Danny dismissed me and said he would take off $150 instead. After a friend who is knowledgeable in this area called on my behalf and showed pictures of the extreme subpar workmanship, Danny's tone was disrespectful and he made comments about my friend and I relationship. Danny's behavior was immature and sour, not phenomenal as other ratings have expressed. Perhaps it's because I'm a young, widowed, African American mother of four. I feel badly giving a negative review because Dan and his employees are very nice guys. However, they really tore apart our house - paint everywhere, including new furniture and floors; they washed out paint brushes and equipment in kitchen/bathroom sinks and bathtubs - permanently staining a bathroom sink; they damaged a cabinet; and they painted over wall speakers, thus destroying them. The list includes non-paint related issues - including smoking in our garage and leaving a clogged and running toilet for the day without notifying us in advance. We spent an entire weekend cleaning our home after the painting was completed. The paint job itself was fairly decent and they did a nice job prepping damaged walls. The price was also reasonable but absolutely not worth the stress, the damage, and the time spent cleaning. Please carefully consider using this company if you take pride in your home. And if you choose to use their services, please be more cautious and monitor their work, which we failed to do initially. read more
