I can't speak to the quality of Darrell's work because he didn't even show up to scope out the job. He wasted my time and hopefully won't waste yours.

I had a random list of items that came up on the inspection for the house we had just bought that we knew we wanted done. Darrell has a broad knowledge base on home repairs and was able to fix everything on the list quickly, and also gave his recommendation on what could wait (or what would be easy and cheaper for us to just do ourselves). Fast forward a few months-we have continued to call on Darrell for various projects throughout the house. I'm 9 months pregnant and trying to get it all done before the baby comes and Darrell has risen to the challenge. He was able to repair our outdoor kitchen, match the stonework, wire in some new lighting and helped talk us through (and out of) doing a pricey pergola addition (I appreciated his honesty!) He most recently installed closet shelving, matching the existing and mostly useless laundry room shelves (with his perfectionist attention to detail) . Being around during the day while contractors are working in the house, it's nice to find someone who not only knows their stuff but is also just a genuinely nice guy to be around. I'm grateful that we've found a 'Darrell of all trades' handyman that I can call on for whatever comes up with our house over the years.

The railing was cemented but remained wobbly. After multiple follow-ups, I was told a hammer drill and larger anchor bolts were needed. An additional $100 was requested to drill deeper into the concrete. Even after four visits and additional work, the railing still wobbles. At one point, I was told I may need to "find another company" because they did not have another technician in my area. The final result is still unstable. This was a safety-related installation, and despite multiple attempts, the issue was not resolved. I appreciate the polite communication, but the outcome does not match what was promised.

The company did come back out to "fix" the floors, but splashed yellow tinted slop all over…read more(ruined) our new base boards. They weren't solid wood, so they can't be fixed...but had they been... You would have needed to sand them down completely. Simply covering the baseboards would have prevented that. More importantly, the floors continued to chip. We contemplated taking them to small claims court to settled for half or money back at least. But we do not have the time right now and I can promise they won't settle easy. The floors never cured right and there is just no good way to "fix" right. New flooring will eventually need to be laid on top. This was a waste of time and money. Very, very expensive. Anything other than their solution would have held up longer.

We initially reached out to GIS because my engagement party was being held at my family's home, and we needed the interior repainted. We also decided to replace the outlets for a fresher look. Tony and Mark were the ones who came out to get everything started, and the inside looks absolutely beautiful now! After the party, we decided to take things a step further and have the wood flooring in our living room replaced to match the rest of the house. Once again, Tony, Mark, and their team were incredible, fast, detail-oriented, and so professional. The attention to detail during both the removal and installation of the flooring really stood out. During that project, my grandmother mentioned a few floorboards in her bedroom that had started to buckle. When Mark came to inspect, he discovered moisture beneath the boards and immediately walked us through all possible scenarios. Together with Tony, he helped us find a solution and identified that the issue came from a window that hadn't been properly sealed, allowing water to leak inside. While that was unexpected, we were so thankful for their honesty and transparency throughout the process. Once the window, wall, and flooring were repaired, her room has never looked better! We also had the inside and outside of our fireplace redone, which looks amazing, along with refreshed caulking in both bathrooms that really gave the spaces a clean, updated look. Every project completed by Tony, Mark, and the rest of the GIS team has been superb. They're incredibly communicative, always keeping us updated on progress, timelines, and next steps. They've been patient in answering every question, quick to send detailed proposals for new projects, and most importantly, consistent in delivering quality, beautiful work. Contractors & Small Businesses -- Read This Before Working With GIS Contracting LLC…read more My HVAC company was subcontracted by GIS Contracting LLC, owned by Tony Gomez, to do the mechanical work at the Williamson County Bagel Shop. We completed the job in full, on time, and under a signed contract. After the work was done, Tony Gomez and GIS Contracting LLC refused to pay the remaining $13,600 they owe us. Repeated invoices, calls, and emails have been ignored thill this day 08/14/25. This is not just bad business -- it's a breach of trust that hurts local contractors who show up, do the work, and expect to be paid what was promised. If you're a contractor, supplier, or business owner, think twice before working with GIS Contracting LLC or Tony Gomez. Get every protection in writing, and be prepared to enforce it. Learn from my experience before it becomes yours. PS: GIS will comment under here saying the matter has been resolved but in fact nothing was ever resolved.
