Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle/Renton - Guest room

Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle/Renton

Mini vacation with mom prompted our stay here. Nice area with Lake Washington in view (and the…read moretrain line). I'm hard of hearing, so me thinks this isn't a problem. This establishment has clean and fairly comfortable accommodations (bed was a little stiff in my opinion). Bathroom was fairly large and clean, though there was photo of a coffee cup above the toilet (which I found oddly hilarious!) One star knocked off because there is not enough lighting in the center of the room, and the ac can be loud (again, hard of hearing, so not an issue for me, but I'm thinking of you lite sleepers here). Like all Hampton Inn's, they have coffee and tea throughout, in addition to breakfast in the A.M. I appreciate the rotation of food! Other Hampton Inn's keep the same food on repeat, little rotation if that. This one, however had sausage gravy and biscuits one day, and hot links and eggs another. State of WA "OK" placard in terms of sanitation, so that is reassuring. Everything was "okay", except the sausage gravy was no joke STRAIGHT salt; I think they forgot to add water. Shame. I love sausage gravy and biscuits... Anyway, service both reception and breakfast area was friendly enough, but not over accommodating. Not very many parking spaces, but it is an Inn and its mostly secured. Walls are a bit thin if the parties outside are loud. But again, ears don't hear well.

Great place, room are nice and spacious. Only down side no microwave. Banquet food is ok.read more

There's a large parking garage where we left our car and then enjoyed walking around admiring the aesthetically pleasing Hyatt. There's even some outdoor gathering spots with fire pits and comfy couches! The showstopper though is without a doubt Water's Table restaurant with gorgeous views of the lake, an innovative menu, and beautiful plating. I keep this place on my date night list whenever the husband asks me where I'd like to go. Perfect spot to enjoy dinner, the sunset, and a walk along the water after.

They aren't owned nor managed by a single company. The Bristol Apartments, for example, is owned by one investment company that is different than the empty towers and the Hyatt is a Hyatt property. It's a bit confusing if this review is for the neighborhood? Do we review neighborhoods now? And it is for all intents and purposes a neighborhood. There's one road in and one road out with the Hyatt, the Bristol, Tra, Peyrassol, the Seattle Family Center, Dock and Drink, and Water's Table filling out the portfolio. It is very pleasant with Coulon Beach Park next door and excellent viewing of fireworks when that resumes. With the parking garage there's plenty of parking though I cannot stress more than ever do not leave any valuables in sight in your vehicle. Southport may be isolated, but that isn't a deterrent for thieves. Personally I'd recommend parking where there's foot traffic since the upper levels are vacant I've only seen smashed out windows at those levels. And it is a pleasant place! In the summers it is busy. The water is so close and the views amazing. I love the four restaurants. It can get loud, and with the exception of a few incidents in 2020 due to people being angry about the mandates at the time it is a very safe space where families, dog walkers, and cute couples gather. Many a wedding takes place in the warmer months so it isn't uncommon to see beautiful gowns and fancy tuxedos, though I'm partial to the Indian weddings since the guests come in beautifully colored saris. There is a lot of diversity at the waterfront and that makes it a wonderful place to be. The winters can be busy too with Coulon Beach Park putting up lights for the holidays and Argosy cruises bringing the Christmas boats by. I always appreciate the carolers. I only wish people would acknowledge the road properly. Drivers ignore the speed limit signs, occasionally just stop in the middle street, or try to double park. Pedestrians often aren't much better because though there's a great sidewalk that connects the docks to the Bristol running up to Coulon Beach Park they'll just walk down the middle of the road like it's a bike path. I have seen a few close calls with pedestrians almost being hit because they're walking down the road instead of the sidewalk. It is a great area.

Outside of the lobby, the hotel immediately becomes a sea of boomer beige illuminated by even more yellow bulbs. The room was alright, with a hole burned in our comforter, insanely noisy air conditioner, and a chipped and stained tub. But the most egregious violation at all and the reason for the 2 star review is that to enjoy the breakfast buffet, you need to pay TWO SEPARATE CHARGES totaling to $25 per person. Will not be here again if I have a choice in the matter.

I love staying close after a long day of nursing & not wanting to venture out. False advertising at this Hilton because there is an overpriced crappy breakfast only. The lobby was beautiful and would have been better if we could have found the desk clerk when we checked in...MIA 20 minutes. The last beautiful thing we'd see on our stay! Our room was nothing but filthy and I'm not a fan of worn out green stained carpeting and a horrible smell I won't soon forget. When we turned on the HVAC it sounded like a diesel truck that may take off & run us over. To stay safe we had no choice but to leave it off. Just as an FYI it became very cold. Not to worry because we wouldn't be sleeping because a party started up around 1:00 AM & went on until 3:30 PM. The smell of marijuana smoke began wafting under the door as well. I called the front desk multiple times and they were helpless & nothing changed! After getting up at 4:00 AM to go workout, I entered a filthy fitness center with sweat drops all over the equipment...just yuck! Then it was time to go to work after being up all night! This is not okay Hilton! I discussed this with the nice gal at the front desk and checked out! She said she would have the manager call me later. Guess who didn't call me later...the manager. Now that's a brand leader for you! Now to my favorite part of this entire nights stay. You know the 100% satisfaction guarantee; you guessed it...this does not apply at this hotel. We were charged full price for no sleep, no restaurant, scary unsanitary gym & and a contact marijuana high & no refund! The good news is I booked us another Hilton because my business trip wasn't over & it was nearly perfect & aligned with the Hilton brand. New plan going forward is to read all the reviews before booking because had I done so we would have not chose to stay at this party hotel. I'm surprised Hilton continues to allow this performance to their brand! Hilton you're better than this!!

I was traveling in a group to Renton, WA for a few days. A couple of groupmates had previously gone…read moreto Renton and recommended the Residence Inn in spite of the overall low rating, mentioning that one of the perks is a free breakfast every morning. I probably would have chosen the nearby Hyatt instead since it looked nicer, but they don't serve free breakfast there. Residence Inn Seattle South/Renton is located on Lake Washington Blvd across from Gene Coulon Park, not too far from The Landing. It's located next to Hampton Inn & Suites, which also serves free breakfast. When you arrive, you'll see a breezeway before the parking lot; the front desk is on the right hand side of that breezeway. There's a door on the left hand side that you can only access with your room key; that door can be useful if your room is on the northern half of the inn. Checking in was simple. Brittany (sp?) was the one who checked me in and gave me a brief overview of the hotel from the free breakfast to the housekeeping every other day as well as mentioning that a card would need to remain inserted in the slot by the front door in order to keep the lights on in the room. When I got into my room, the TV was on to welcome me to Residence Inn. There weren't any issues with my room after my inspection and also taking photos to add to this page. However, one of my groupmates did mention he had to switch rooms due to the toilet not flushing. He showed me video of that so I could see it for myself. Housekeeping is done every other day, so during my three-night stay, housekeeping was only done once. One of the desks in each room has a sign reminding guests of this policy. There's another sign on that desk that has a QR code where you can leave tips for their hardworking staff. There is free WiFi and breakfast for guests of this Residence Inn! WiFi info is posted at the front desk where you check in. Breakfast starts at 6:30 AM on weekdays and 7 AM on weekends. Each morning I had breakfast, they had scrambled eggs in the first heating well, but the three heating wells after that would vary. One had meat patties one day. One had breakfast sandwiches another day. There were some potatoes on one of the mornings, but I'll never forget the pork bacon on my last morning. That's only because the rest of my group went to get breakfast elsewhere, but I stayed behind to get not one, but two helpings of the pork bacon lol. Breakfast also includes the usual suspects like bread, bagels, fruit, yogurt, milk, and a juice machine. I was satisfied with the quality of the breakfast, and they even had some coffee in front as well. For some reason, I couldn't pour any liquid out of one of the dairy pitchers. One of the staff members notice me struggling with that, and she showed me that the lid was rotated the wrong way. After she rotated it, I was finally able to pour some liquid into my coffee. In addition to coffee, they also have dispensers for decaf and hot water. They do have a bar in the same place where breakfast is held, but they also have a food menu per state law. On my second evening there, I went down and ordered a barbecue chicken flatbread. Actually, I would have preferred the barbecue pork, which was $1 less, but I guess they didn't have any of the pork left? But I was more than willing to try the barbecue chicken knowing that is California Pizza Kitchen's signature pizza. Initially, they prepared my order to be eaten at the bar even though I would have preferred to eat in my room instead; the staff happily obliged and even offered me some utensils to go with my takeout box. Shoutout to the bartender, Brianna, who told me she used to live close to where I live now in SoCal! I also appreciate how they were willing to hold my luggage until I was done with work that day. However, when I tried to check out of the hotel on my last morning in Renton, there was no staff present to check me out. It took a minute or two before Geoffrey (sp?) checked me out, which was as simple as handing him my room keys. I didn't even need to say my name; all I had to provide was my room number and a preference for receipt delivery. I requested for them to hold my luggage until I returned later that day, and Geoffrey provided me with a numbered tag that I needed to return to get my luggage back; I don't know what I'd do if I were to lose that tag. I returned later in the afternoon where a couple of different front desk agents struggled to get my luggage back. It took them a while to figure out where my luggage was, even after I mentioned Geoffrey's name. Luckily, it didn't take much more than a few minutes before I finally got my luggage back. Overall, it was a decent stay at Residence Inn, and I can see why one of my groupmates recommended it. Bed was comfortable, and so was the sofa. No issues with the bathroom either, but the clock on the microwave didn't show the correct time. It was off by an hour and a few minutes, likely due to Daylight Savings Time.

This is a modern boutique-y design and not the older apartment concepts based residence inns. It's close by one of the Boeing facilities with one of their railways running by the hotel and around 15 to 20 minutes away from Bellvue/Redmond based companies. Parking is ample but a bit crowded. Hotel staff is very nice, professional and somewhat helpful. They were not able to answer all my touristy questions but were able to answer important ones. The breakfasts are typical Marriott fair and they do have a bar/restaurant that runs to 10pm most days.

Throughout our stay, other guests brought strippers from across the street into the hotel and had extremely loud, aggressive intercourse all night while blasting music. We called the front desk four separate times, and each time we were told there was "nothing they could do" about the situation other than asking them to turn the music down. Police were called to the property twice within a single week, which says a lot about the environment here. The front desk staff were consistently rude and dismissive. When we checked out, we were met with nothing but attitude, as if we hadn't just given this hotel a full week of business. Safety was also a major concern. There were unleashed dogs roaming the hallways, and there was even a dog fight on the top level during our stay. The parking lot felt extremely sketchy, with suspicious cars lingering. At one point, we witnessed a couple fighting in the parking lot, and the man drove off with the woman on the hood of the car. The entire property smells strongly of smoke and cigarettes. To make matters worse, when we first arrived, there was a used toothpaste tube left on the bedroom floor from the previous guest, which clearly shows the room was not properly cleaned. Between the noise, lack of safety, poor cleanliness, and unprofessional staff, this place was completely unacceptable. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

"We Are Family" - Nile Rodgers and CHIC…read more I've been wanting to stay at Cedarbrook Lodge for many years but the opportunity never came up until our we had our recent cruise out of Seattle. This lodge was used for our return flight from SEATAC to HNL due to the convenience factor close to the airport. One thing I've learned over many years of travel - stay closer to the hotel if you have an early morning flight out. Don't risk staying miles away driving in traffic, because anything can happen. STELLAR: - Shout out to TJ and Minerva!!! - We were treated with the utmost care and almost like family the minute we checked in to drop off our luggage. We were very early but didn't want to explore Seattle with luggage in our rental car, so they stored it for us. They texted us several hours later to tell us our room was early. We ended up checking in at 10:30 PM because we had other plans and forgot to tell the hotel. They were very worried about us as they saw our luggage still sitting on the floor. They feared we got into a bad accident, or got kidnapped, and all other manner of bad things. Next time I will make sure to call ahead. GREAT: - Rooms are clean and comfortable, nice and spacious! - Quiet and restful. - Very attractive grounds. My plan was to explore but we got back late into the night, so perhaps next time. - Self parking, lot of room! Open-air. - Super close to the airport, less than 15 minutes away. - Complimentary mini Haagen Daas Ice Creams in the common lounge in the freezer (see picture) - Complimentary purified water stations, coffee in the AM and cookies. - Affordable, especially if you book out a year in advance like I did. We paid $274.36 for a Double Queen. - Self park daily $33.00. Other: - We grabbed take out breakfast from Taco Bell down the street for the airport wait. - If you want to have some wine, cocktails or beer, save your money, don't buy any from the gas station down the street, the cost was prohibitive. Buy before you get to Cedarbrook. The Lodge has a cocktail lounge but didn't try it. Amazing lodge with the best service, clean, spacious and quiet rooms on a gorgeous property near SEATAC airport. Return Factor: - Yes, next time will try to enjoy the grounds and the amenities instead of using it as a crash pad.
