Community services and local businesses set up booths offering swags and information. A children's play area for fair type of games, some at extra cost Petting and feeding zoo was highly popular for kids and adults - especially the camel and alpaca. An Art Market area offers hand made items for purchase Band and seating area Large beer garden area Food booths offering food and drinks The Renton History Museum is free during this weekend too. There is free parking by the library, and we easily found street parking nearby. We've been to this festival maybe 5 to 6 times over the years, and always found it to be enjoyable, a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

You don't have to be Polynesian to attend, the festival is open to everyone. Good shows, good peeps, good grub... good times. The event is free to attend! The line for the shaved hawaiian ice is always long! Although I do wish they had more vendors and the lines aren't so long for the food. I'm always hoping to one day see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson there lol or like Troy Polamalu... sweet! If you've ever been to Hawaii you know there are some very great quality Hawaii brands (such as Island Heritage) that you can only get over in Hawaii, or ship with steep shipping charges. I bought beautiful towels, lunch totes and jewelry. Hearing the Hawaiian music as you stroll into the festival and seeing all the dances really makes you feel like you're at the best luau in Honolulu. All in all a good time to be had!

You had to pay $20 at the door and that did not include the stein. The Berliner Pub in Renton hosted it and they provided the beer and food. I go to the Berliner for happy hour a lot so I knew the food and beer were going to be great. If you want a great HH, go there! This was the 2nd time they hosted Oktoberfest and it was not too crowded when I went Friday night. They had enough seating, the lines were not to long for food or drink, and they had outside seating too. Outside was covered with tents and came in handy when it started to rain. They also had a mechanical bull that you could ride for one ticket ($3). They had a M.C that was great. She was an extremely tall lady who had great presence in the room. She sang a lot and got the crowd involved. It was fund to watch her walk around and work the room. She also had some competitions on stage that people got to volunteer for and get free beer and shirts. I will def be coming back next year if there is another living social deal. Some Oktoberfest's are too crowded and you have to wait 20 mins for a drink....I like this one b.c is it still small enough to not be too crowded but large enough to meet new people and have a great time.

There are several stages with different events throughout the day so you can pick and choose your own adventure! I really liked the fact that almost all of the vendors were local and weren't selling DH Gate/MLM garbage. There are a lot of bars and restaurants to choose from in this area and they bring in a bunch of food trucks as well, because it wouldn't be a carnival without fried food and games! Seemed like things changed fairly rapidly throughout the day so it's a great idea to come early and plan to stay for the duration of the event! There are even after parties to keep the fun going if you're so inclined.

It's plenty of time to walk around and see things, but it's late enough that most of the littles have already made their way home. This place is right on Lake Washington and you can sure bet that it gets ***cold*** That's kinda part of the fun though, right? One of the best things about this event is the location -- in the park there's a few places for dinner or you can get a bit fancier and hop on over to The Landing for a bunch of other options! Like any other festival that shuts down a large area, the parking is pretty crazy. I got there nice and early to find a good spot and walked about a mile. Overall good selection of vendors! Most of them were artisanal and not something you can buy from a direct-from-China shop. The food court had a lot of great options, and, of course the Kiwanis salmon BBQ. They also had a large field section with games for the kiddos and a water dog competition! There were lots of salmon going through the ladder, so that was nice to watch for awhile. Overall Salmon Days is a great festival to get out and do something a little different!

My friend told…read moreme about the miscellaneous trolls that are around the western Washington area, created by artist, Thomas Dambo from Denmark. So, I had to see it for myself. I took my dog on a walk around Issaquah - and we made it a point to check out Jakob Two Trees while in the area. To get here, online sources referenced the Rainier Multiple Use Trail in the old town of Issaquah. If you map to Rainier Trail, it does not take you to the entrance to the trail. However, this trail is near the Issaquah Community Center, which is where I mapped and was easily able to find the entrance to the trail. Along the Rainier Multiple Use Trail in a short distance is Jakob Two Trees. There's a sign that explains more of the artwork and artist, using only up-cycled materials to create these trolls. It was cool to see and you're able to walk all around the giant troll and get pictures up close. Although I am not Scandinavian, I do love how treasured trolls are to the Nordic countries, so now I want to find more of the trolls around the Pacific Northwest.

We've came for the Sunday Parade for the past 2 years, and my toddler enjoys it. Kids can play in the Town Center Plaza, where there is the splash pad, and booths with activities, and a stage setup for the band. The food options are decent (Filipino, burgers, pineapple drinks, Mexican snacks, etc.), but expect to wait for the food for a while (30+ minutes) if you go after lunch hours. Also, it's always super hot since there isn't much shade, so bring lots of water and covering if you plan to stay for a while. Tip: 1) Come on Friday if you don't like crowd 2) Parade starts at 1PM on Sundays 3) If you want to enjoy some food without waiting, go to the food area (in the library parking lot) before noon.

Got some Chicken Quesadillas from the Antojitos Lucy Mexican Food vendor, which was very tasty! Also bought a Watermelon drink. SO frickin' good!!! Last year was a bust so we decided to go again to compare. Definitely a better turnout this year. No carnival rides but that's ok. Heard about the Oak Harbor incident? The kiddos can play in the spray park or Kherson Park instead. Booths had friendly representatives and were there to chat about local services and current/future projects. I swung by the Sound Transit booth and learned about the Federal Way Link Extension. Hopefully they'll get it done before we host the FIFA 2026 World Cup. Freebies were abundant and representatives were happy to give items away as long as you were interested in what they had to say. The Puget Sound Fire Department booth had some good stuff and were offering free CPR Training at ShoWare. As for the food area I wish they had more tent seating. Last year wasn't a problem; this year people were saving spots for friends and family while they were waiting in lines. They have a parade. If you want to attend bring a camping or beach chair. The sidewalk might be too hot to sit on considering the heatwave. Not as extravagant as Torchlight but it's nice to support the community. We parked in the Kent Station Garage. It was nice coming back to a non-toasty car.
