Do not rent here !…read more Sorry, avoid this place. when returning the car to them after 9 days we got a magic "damage under the car" that we did not cause. we did do the inspection and pictures around the car on pickup and return (allways a good idea) but then are we getting later that that below the bumper there was this "damage" being the only driver i am sure that we did not hit anything during the period. and are contesting the damage and the lack of documentation. so, rent somewhere else with good reviews. i will check before next time...

Absolutely Awful, Despicable Company…read more Rented a car from Sixt via Travelocity in Mallorca, Spain. The advertised price did not include insurance -- not even basic collision damage coverage. Yes, I understand how the collision damage waiver works, deductibles and all, this is nothing included. So, I also agreed to buy insurance for €74. At pick up we spoke about adding a second driver, which I agreed to. When my card was being scanned, I noticed it was only for the Travelocity amount and I didn't think anything more of it. There was a normal €300 hold for potential damage. After returning the car I received a bill with a €170 upcharge to be withheld from my security deposit. That included a €25 additional-driver fee I wasn't told about when the second driver was added, and the €74 insurance charge was taken from my security deposit instead of being charged up front. I had filled the tank about 10 km (approximately 6 miles) from the airport, but Sixt claimed the tank was only 7/8 full and charged a €31 refueling service fee plus €10 for fuel, and this of course added an extra €30 in tax. Bottom line: European rentals may be advertised without basic damage insurance, but it felt deceptive that Sixt didn't clearly tell me and then deducted the insurance and driver fees from my deposit. I would have paid up front, but taking these charges from the security deposit is misleading. I will never, ever rent from Sixt. I hope my loss will save the next person from this despicable company.

Total scam. Avoid Avis at all costs…read more I rented a car from Avis in Palma, Mallorca. I paid the full rental amount in cash when I arrived -- everything was clear and paid. They also blocked €519 as a security deposit, which I approved and which was released after I returned the car. The problem? Four days after I returned the car, they charged my credit card €455 for no reason. I returned the car on time, on July 6th, and I even asked their staff at the return area to inspect the car. The supervisor told me, "no need, just drop the keys." I have my boarding pass that proves I left Mallorca the same day -- so there is no way I used the car an extra day. And about the fuel? The tank was almost full -- just one bar missing, probably 2 or 3 liters. They could have charged €20-50 maximum, but they charged €455. No explanation. No proof. No warning. Nothing. When I contacted customer service, they kept sending automatic responses talking about the €519 deposit -- which has nothing to do with this separate charge. I'm now taking legal action and filing a complaint with consumer protection authorities. I will also share this experience across social media so others don't fall into the same trap. This was blatant abuse and theft. Shame on Avis. I will never use their services again, anywhere.

We noticed some splashes of what appeared to be mud all over the car. I had not received the rental agreement that detailed the existing damage and didn't think too much of it. I also wasn't going to walk all the way back to the rental counter and wait in line again The car itself was great, they gave me a Peugeot hybrid- I think it was an upgrade over what I'd reserved. When the car was returned there was nobody checking the cars in - you had to just drop the keys in a secure box. When I received the final rental agreement receipt there were miscellaneous charges, taxes and fees of $1,079 USD. No details, nothing, just "misc"...I didn't damage the car and it was returned on time, actually a little early, and it was paid in full in advance when I made the reservation. I filed a claim with Avis and was told they would get back to me in 5-7 days..it's been 10 days and nothing. I haven't been able to get through to speak with anyone. Tonight I filed a formal dispute with my credit card company.. based on similar reviews it seems this is a way for that location to generate extra revenues. If I go back I will avoid this company.

Fastest service car rental I've ever experienced!!!…read more So my husband and I pre booked at a different car rental unfortunately because we've both been working a lot we forgot the most important piece... International drivers license. Thankfully they told us on the airport that europcar accepts California drivers license Margo was so helpful specially for a last minute services we were out of there within 10-15 minutes with all the documents signed and out of the garage

Hidden currency conversion fees (when choosing "pay at pick up")…read more Palma Airport - PMI, Mallorca Warning: long post for a rather small issue. Company uses DCC (Direct Currency Conversion), meaning they convert to your local currency using an unfavourable rate and adding a 3.25 conversion fee). I asked specifically, when picking up the car, to pay in euros since companies are only allowed to use DCC if the customer explicitly agrees to this. Despite this I was charged in my local currency. This added approx. € 5 to my bill. Size of added fee will naturally vary depending on length of rental, choice of car etc. I assume most people won't make the effort to fight this, which of course is why they do it. I contacted their customer service and was told they need to charge in the local currency if the card/bank used doesn't support payment in euros. Seemed more than a little ridiculous seeing as I've used the card several times throughout the trip. In order to refund the DCC charge they required a written statement from my bank that payment can be made in euros. I actually got such a statement and have asked for a refund - doubt I'll get it though. Just thought this might be interesting since Europcar, Hertz and Avis is in more or less the same price range and I've never experienced this behaviour from the last two. Going to stick with them from now on. Apart from this "small" nitpick everything worked out well. Fast check out, fast return procedure and helpful staff. Europcar is certainly no Goldcar or OK Car Hire but there's still some room for improvement.

NEVER BOOK WITH RYAN AIR! Please, please don't ever book a flight with them…read more Here is why: *The flight from Barcelona to Palma, Mallorca was fine and I have no complaints there. Nothing extraordinary and nothing terrible either. How Ryan Air handled our flight cancelation from Palma, Mallorca to Madrid was absolutely horrid. There was a storm the day of our flight with lightening and rain. I expected delays and even a reschedule because the storm was bad for around 2 hours and then it settled. We arrived early to the airport and saw our flight was delayed by 3 hours...then 5 hours...then 8 hours. So, our 4pm flight was moved to 12am. No worries, I'd rather wait for a later flight to be safe. When it was an hour before our flight, they pop up a gate number and all of us rush over to the gate. We're waiting in line for about 30 minutes and then, they change the gate number. All of us on the flight rush over to the new gate, we wait about 30 minutes and then they show this gate is not going to Madrid but a totally different region of the world with a completely different airline. The gate number disappears and then says our flight is delayed another hour. Another gate number appears, so we all move to that gate and they say our flight is delayed another hour. We wait, it looks like they're getting ready to board but...there's no plane at the gate. Then, they say we've been delayed another hour and remove the gate number. Some of the other people on the same flight are becoming restless and understandably angry. There's yelling, waving of hands and even a woman starts throwing things on the ground and tries to open the door to the gate entry. Finally, they tell us they found a plane for us and move us to another gate. We wait....another hour and then they come out with guards and tell us our flight has been cancelled at 4am! They tell us to go to check in to book a new flight and get a refund. We exit the boarding area and go to the ryan air check in area and they have staff prepared with stacks of paper telling us that the cancelation of our flight is not their fault and it was due to the storm. If we want to get a refund, we could file a complaint on there website and pretty much, good luck. They couldn't get us on a plane until 3 days out and they wouldn't get us a hotel because all of the hotels were booked. They had no remorse, no care in the world for us who had to sleep in the airport and a ferry to get off the island. Still trying to get a refund but we have no luck and the airline does not care in the slightest. Personally, this felt like the slimmest example of a business just out for the money. To set the scene on what their actions caused: kids were sleeping in their luggage, families were crying, people were walking around aimlessly trying to find somewhere to sit, lay down, charge their phones, find something to eat. Faces were filled with defeat, stress, exhaustion and tears. I've never seen an airline discard their guests like that. I genuinely hope that no one experiences this and advise to the fullest to just pay the little extra to use another airline other than Ryan air.

No other car rental services have such enormous lines of people (who pre-payed their reservations online so they are forced to wait). Spanish better business bureau, consumer advocate or even just Mallorca Airport management should pay attention; GoldCar is a disaster. GoldCar claims to be the cheapest but there are tons of hidden fees ranging from overcharging for fuel, forcing people to buy additional insurance, and hidden fees for additional drivers. If you have a non-European or non-international drivers license than you will be denied your car rental. Any edits to your reservation will cancel the reservation.

I visited Loco Wheels earlier this week with a large group of family members while Palma was one of…read morethe ports on our cruise. Most had made online reservations. I had not. Two men were assisting customers. One, an older male (approx. 50s), handled our group. He confirmed everyone's reservations and then asked who had not booked online. I stated I had not, and he said it was not a problem and requested my driver's license, passport, and payment method. I informed him I did not carry my passport. A family member riding as a passenger volunteered to provide their ID. He accepted this option, and I paid for the rental with my credit card. My parents, both in their 60s, were also part of our group. After a brief tutorial outside by the second gentleman, my father determined the moped was unsafe for him and my mother. He explained his concerns to the original staff member, who was walking in at the time. The staff member waved his hand and said, "well, we're done. Goodbye." My father remained standing, and my mother guided him outside. I stepped in to ask about a refund for my parents due to the safety concern. The staff member became defensive and attempted to justify the decision, suggesting my parents were in the wrong for prioritizing safety. I asked where in the provided paperwork the refund policy was listed. After some back and forth, he said they do not issue refunds but would "make an exception" and offer my mother $20. I advised her to decline, restating that this was a safety concern. He again offered $20 in cash. I informed him I would assist her with a chargeback upon our return to the U.S. I proceeded with the tutorial, took the moped for two short spins to get a feel for the controls, as I had not ridden one in years. Within two minutes, the same staff member approached the group and asked loudly if someone else could drive my moped because I "wasn't getting it." Before anyone could respond, he began verbally explaining the controls while demonstrating with his hands. As a visual learner, I watched his hand movements. He told me to look at him while he spoke, stating I was being rude. I explained I needed to watch his hands. He acknowledged and continued. Before departure, I heard my father say they would not return to the ship and would walk the city instead. I decided to stay with them. I walked back inside and informed the same staff member. He again stated there were no refunds and referred me to their website. I reminded him I had not made a reservation and had never seen the website. He stated he would no longer speak with me, as the reservation was not in my name. I pointed out the person who reserved was outside and could request the refund. He told me to leave the store. I asked for proof that I had returned the moped, which he refused to provide. He came from behind the counter, walked within inches of my face, and told me to leave. I asked him to step back and informed him that if he continued to act aggressively, I would defend myself and that his cameras would serve as proof if the police arrived. As I turned to leave, I repeated my request for proof, and he again stated he "doesn't give that." I told him I would initiate a chargeback and let our banks determine the outcome. He accused me of "threatening him" for stating that. His behavior during the interaction included comments about the rental being a "favor" since someone else had provided their ID on my behalf. I clarified that this was his decision at the time and no one asked for a favor. If that arrangement was not acceptable, he could have declined it up front. Afterward, when the rest of my family returned the scooters, the same staff member made comments about me to them. One of them had to ask him to stop, as I was not present to respond. He also asked my brother-in-law to "please tell him not to leave a bad review." Based on other reviews its possible this gentleman was having a bad day. Its clear he thought over our interaction for him to have asked my brother in law to ask me not to leave a review.
