I can't stress enough what a fantastic place this is for young professionals, college students, and…read moremoderate-income folks to pick up quality furniture. If you're like me, you enjoy finding deals on Craigslist but do sometimes get drawn into Ashley Furniture or much nicer places looking for a furniture set that isn't used. My advice would be to check out CORT's offerings before you head to IKEA or some stranger's house for cheap or used furniture. I would not call CORT's selection "used" so much as "refurbished." When I entered I was immediately greeted by a kind saleswoman (Dee) who asked if she could tell me a little about the business. I agreed, and she gave a brief (~2 minute) explanation: CORT rents furniture to corporate office/housing clients, and if the furniture can no longer be rented but is in good shape, it enters their clearance outlets. Before it does, however, it is sanitized, cleaned, and repaired to ensure it is in the best shape possible. Of course, some furniture is immaculate while others show some sign of wear: pricing reflects this accordingly. Unlike most furniture shops, I was never hassled by the staff and could browse without being badgered or "assisted." When I did have questions, the staff was quick to answer them and wait on me if I had further inquiries or concerns. The selection at Catonsville is pretty extensive: everything from lower-end couches and loveseats to some very high-quality sofas, sectionals, sleepers, etc. are available. They also have a sizeable collection of office furniture, bedroom sets, and TV stands in stock, all of which were in good to excellent condition and reasonably priced. Because the furniture has to be rented out, most of it is at least moderate quality--cheap items don't last long and are a poor investment for a place like CORT. I ultimately chose two Burton sofas--one of which was a sleeper--and a complementary coffee and cocktail/end table set. The sofa was in mint condition while the sleeper had a few blemishes noticeable only to someone inspecting the furniture for purchase (which you obviously should always do, hah). Regardless, when the time came to make a deal, Dee, always the professional, was willing to slash the price by 50 bucks as I'd pointed out these minor stitch jobs. On that end, I couldn't have been more pleased with the buying process. Many furniture stores will boast about "this weekend only" sales or claim that they cannot come down a cent further on furniture. CORT's prices were already more than competitive, but Dee was willing to meet my out-the-door price (which was reasonably close to her offer) to get my business. The staff helped me load the furniture into my pickup, and I went away a happy customer. I plan on coming back soon for a bookshelf and some other office equipment. Please consider giving your custom to CORT (there are several around the DMV area too) before you blow a month or two's salary on an expensive (but not necessarily high-quality) new furniture set or scour the local Craigslist for heavily used stuff. Come with your own truck or be ready to hire their on-call contractor to move it for you for about 100-150 bucks. The people are nice, the deals are even nicer, and this furniture needs a home.

I needed something well-made and solid, but I couldn't pay hundreds of dollars for solid wood or go through the hassle of assembling with Ikea. On a whim, I drove out to Springfield in response to an ad they'd posted on Craiglist. This place is fantastic! It's full of QUALITY office furniture -- desks, bookcases, chairs, etc. -- in good, clean condition. (There was some dust here and there on a few pieces, but nothing you wouldn't expect. Plus everything is shined to a sparkly clean before it's delivered to you.) Everything is neatly organized, so it's easy to browse and find exactly what you need. I ended up getting not just the bookcase of my dreams, but also a Steelcase adjustable desk chair with lumbar support. Even better, the price I paid for these two pieces together was a mere fraction of what it would have cost me to buy either one of them brand new. Best of all, there was delivery right to my door for a modest fee. I highly encourage anyone looking to outfit a home or commercial office to stop into Celio to check out what they have to offer -- attentive but pressure-free service, a clean showroom, reasonable prices, affordable delivery, and quality pieces. P.S. It's a little confusing to find when you drive into the parking lot. You basically have to go all the way around the back of the building to find Suite B.

My wife was looking for an office chair, but has a very picky back, so adjustability is a must. I…read morewas surprised to find that the Big Box office supply stores only sell very basic office chairs (with height and full-seat-tilt adjust only), and nothing like what you'd find in a real office for an employer that cares about employee comfort (with back height, back tilt, tilt lock-in-place, arm rest height and angle, etc adjustments). We decided to check out Celio, and found a great chair for $75 that was much better than what we'd get for $250+ at a Big Box office supply store. While we were there, we picked up a heavy-duty filing cabinet. Prices are incredibly reasonable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Since this is used furniture, the stock changes rapidly, but there's a lot of REALLY high quality stuff here that's in excellent condition. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

He greeted us when we arrived and was incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable. He took the time to help us configure the furniture in different layouts so my in-laws could better visualize how it would look in their home. He never rushed us and made the shopping experience enjoyable. His customer service was truly 10/10. Unfortunately, another employee, an older woman with short red hair, left us with a very negative impression. She made inappropriate jokes in front of my in-laws, and she falsely accused my children of damaging furniture when nothing had been broken. My children were simply trying out the furniture, just as many customers do, and they were under my supervision the entire time. Her comments were unnecessary, unprofessional, and made our family feel uncomfortable. It's one thing to politely remind customers of store policies, but it's another to make false accusations and embarrass families in front of others. I hope the store or regional manager takes this feedback seriously. While James provided exceptional service, this employee's behavior was disappointing and detracted from what otherwise could have been a great shopping experience. I hope she receives additional customer service training so future customers are treated with kindness and respect.
