Hidden inside a cathedral, the restaurant really has a unique design to it. I loved the interior!…read moreEspecially having dined in summer, we had the light shooting through the mosaic windows, giving off a warm, cosy ambiance. The food was gourmet but not entirely to my taste. The fish cake my father had was really good as well as the chocolate brownie/cake dessert my mum had was exquisite. The one thing that did bother us was the lack of ventilation which made the open plan kitchen a little unsuited for this kind of spacing. So the whole night we did have the smoky smell accompany us, and made sure it infused into our clothing after we left.

Visited for dinner with colleagues and what a great night. The restaurant is located in the upper…read moreportion of a deconsecrated church and looks wonderful. A high arched ceiling and red brick walls offer an impressive backdrop to some excellent cooking. The food is modern and well presented. Each of the starters and mains have a selected list of accompanying sides. Two sides are included in the menu price and I agree with the concept that too many different tastes can obscure the food. I had pea and ham soup with bread and blue cheese which was excellent. Similar to my mother's own recipe and given piquancy with the blue cheese. This was followed by buck breast with a star anise jus and home made chips and a portobello mushroom. The service was also excellent, if I'm honest we kept the staff waiting far too long after dinner and yet there was no hint that they wanted us to move on. All in all an outstanding experience. Not cheap but not expensive, well presented with courteous and friendly staff. I'd highly recommend it.

Decided a Cesar salad was a good addition. And yes it was. It maybe helped that we hadn't eaten all day, but this was warm and perfect for our hungry tummies.

Starters were small in size, but nice. After the starters, we got 2 pizzas with dolcelatte cheese (sweet blue cheese), but the dough was exactly like Pizza Ristorante, the frozen pizza you buy at the supermarket. We were told it was hand-made, but the dough was 100% frozen. Also, those pizzas were pretty small. Obviously, we sent them back and tried some pasta. We ordered linguine with salmon (there was also cream and tomato). The pasta came too soon, and this is not a good sign of fresh food. Once again, this dish was very low quality. The pasta was over-cooked and the tomato sauce overpowered the salmon, which you could barely taste. The tomato sauce didn't taste fresh, at all. The whole dish didn't. We were also told that the salmon wasn't fresh (local). We just ate the pasta because we were pretty hungry and it was late for us to leave and find a better restaurant. The original total (without the 50% discount from the government and including 2 glasses of wine) was £53.50! Luckily, thanks to the government discount, we paid £33.50. Nevertheless, the quality of the food was really low. Service was nice, but the food experience was a big disappointment.
