There are very few moments in my life where I completely regret a decision and can find no good in…read moreit, yet coming here for dental care is one of my deepest regrets. Beware of this place unless you enjoy being ridiculed, tortured and unheard. Dr. Ahn kept striking my teeth with his metal tool as a "test" to see if I actually felt pain in a particular tooth by striking my other teeth. He struck my teeth so hard that it hurt. He didn't answer my questions and when I made the fatal mistake of allowing him to do a filling, I felt pain in the location of the filling and still feel pain in that area over a year later. My tooth hurts more now than it did before I got the filling. Please don't make the same mistake as I did, find yourself a different dentist!!

I've been going here for 3 or 4 years now. At my last visit they switched me to see the male…read morehygienist and dentist. I wasn't concerned until the hygienist kept telling me how bad things looked. I've never had issues with my teeth and it felt very predatory. The dentist came in, barely looked in my mouth and told me I had 7 cavities! I asked if my new medication could cause that as I've never had issues before and he said no. He also said I needed to buy the $16 toothpaste they sold in the office or I would keep getting more cavities. I ended up getting 4 of the fillings done and had pain afterwards (none before). When I went back for my next check up, I explained that I was having pain where he worked and they kept questioning me, saying it wasn't possible, and kept asking me to list specific foods or specific teeth. When I pointed the tooth out, he said he didn't work on that one, it must have been from my old dentist. I ended up scheduling to have my last 3 done, but while I was waiting, I asked the receptionist if I could be transferred to female only staff after that day's visit. She said it was fine. I was taken back and while the assistant was talking my blood pressure, the male doctor came in and said he heard that I don't want to see him again. It was really aggressive and made my BP high. Then during the filings, he was so rough, I had tears streaming into my hair, then asked me at the end why I didn't speak up. I wish they would have let me see my xrays before paying for all the fillings.

I'd highly recommend staying away from Boones Ferry Dental. I've been to a fair amount of dentists…read moreover the years, and the culture of patient intimidation and fear mongering that goes on here is disappointing. It's across the board too: from the primary dentist, to the hygienist, to the frontdesk (it all starts at the top though, so I'm not surprised that it's systemic). I went in for a routine checkup after moving to a new area. I'd had a previous checkup with a great dentist just six months ago, where I had been receiving regularly scheduled cleanings. I asked Boones Ferry Dental for a routine exam and cleaning, and they proceeded to tell me that I needed to do extensive deep cleaning (that would be almost $2k dollars more, with a customer out of pocket of almost $250 for me). They were making statements that I had severe "disease of the gums", that I was imminently in danger of potentially losing a tooth, and that it would be unethical of them to give me just a standard cleaning. Doing this more expensive deep cleaning would also have to be over the course of 2 more additional visits. I explained to them that I couldn't take that much time away from work, but offered to come in over the holiday break to do the deeper cleaning and would prefer a regular cleaning now. They refused to work with me. I called my previous dentist, and he said that this was extremely bizarre behavior and that I should seek out another dentist in the area. Boones Ferry Dental still charged my insurance for an exam despite refusing me service on actually cleaning my teeth, so now I'll need to seek out another opinion and likely deal with insurance consequences of another exam. I'd never have gone to Boones Ferry Dental had I know that they were interested in bullying customers through intimidation tactics to get them to spend more money - perhaps they're hurting for business, but this strikes me as an unethical way to do business and treat customers. At the very least, it is clear that they don't value my time, they don't actively listen, and they're not interested in building a long term relationship with me as a customer. There are 20+ other dentists in the nearby area: do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Dr Morrissey has always been a fantastic dentist, but today he and his staff went far above and…read morebeyond that. I was chewing gum and, surprise, my bridge came off. I was upset and called to see if they could see me last minute late Friday afternoon, and they were closing the office for the weekend. I always have the worst timing! So I scheduled for Monday morning and got off the phone. Probably sixty seconds later I received a call back, they ended up staying late just to help me out. I can't tell you how much it meant to me that they went through all of that trouble to help me out, and were so nice about it! Brandy, Kylie and Dr. Morrissey are so awesome, I can't recommend them enough!

At the time I had OHP and it was what I could afford. The hygenist also seemed tired and overworked. I decided to give them another chance with my second visit. I would say this one was worse. My hygenist was late and rushed through the front door apologizing. She spoke loudly enough for the whole office to hear why she was late. She had to leave again to get her glasses. I was shamed for the condition of my teeth and told "you are going to loose a tooth" " you are far too young to be loosing teeth". I was also asked many questions about my orthodontic work. I had my braces off at 15 and I am now 30. I don't have any knowledge of professional Ortho or what they were thinking when I had braces! Dr.Gilday tried to improve my mood by making small talk. Also, this office does not ask if you want to look at your teeth as they stick a camera in your mouth. You are required to look at a big screen to see what they are doing! if asked, I would have said no I don't want to see. So unprofessional. I am very sensitive about the appearance of my teeth and felt like I was being shamed for how I look. I will never go back here and hope that the office takes this review seriously. Also the dentist didn't know names of other dentists to refer for Ortho consult. He simply said to the front desk "oh what's his name again!??".
