Now, believe it or not, I was recently desperately sick and needed to see a doctor and actually called to make another appointment just to get some medicine to treat a chest cold. I figured at this point it was so bad that I could deal with going back. I did everything I could to go elsewhere. So I called for an appointment, but tried other places as well. I got an appointment immediately elsewhere and got a call back from Dr. B's assistant telling me I could get in that afternoon. I remember one year during my annual physical, she asked me how I was doing; I started babbling about how my headaches were better (or worse, I forget), and she stopped me and said, "no, tell me about your life: how is your business, your personal life?" Yeah, she's THAT doctor. The one that actually knows and cares about you. She keeps a picture of my son in my chart and always asks about him and shares with me how her family is. Her medical assistant, Carolyn, is also kind and helpful. She's great about getting prescriptions filled, or squeezing me or my husband in for an appointment if we're sick. I can't tell you how many times I've called in desperation as we were headed out of town and coming down with something - Carolyn has always helped us sort it out. The office is in Decatur; they have a full lab on the first floor so if Dr. Begovic orders labs, you just pop downstairs. Never a wait. Dr. B is truly one of the good ones!

I came here to get clearance for oral surgery after an oral surgeon from Emory University referred me here because she was concerned about a heart condition I suffered from when I was born. My experience with the cardiology team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta couldn't have been better. Dr. Phelps was very kind and detailed throughout the entire visit and gave me clearance for the surgery. I was amazed at how she never questioned our diet (my mom and I are vegans and we have had a few other doctors that weren't from Children's try to convince us that this type of diet is bad) and I also couldn't get over how she is a doctor of osteopathy which we are really fond of! The nurses were also very friendly throughout the entire visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Phelps for all your cardiac needs!

Long behold Monday comes and I get a phone call stating that my appointment would have to be rescheduled. At this point I have already made the necessary arrangements to have my appointment today so of course I would be upset about a last-minute change. I talked to Kimberly the supervisor who was extremely rude and actually took offense to me being upset about a last-minute change to my schedule. She was extremely condescending and at that point I requested to speak with Dr. MichaelFelder regarding the change and the reason why....she promise me that I will get a call back from the doctor after they were done with clinic and long behold I'm on the phone with her and that rude attitude once again.....prior to us hanging up I made it very clear that I did not want to schedule an appointment until I spoke with the doctor directly. I cannot uproot my schedule knowing that a last-minute changes just a phone call away you have to be respectful of people's time and the changes that very well may impact them she called me back insisting on scheduling the appointment, she talked over me while I was rearranging that I still would like to speak to the doctor and then she made me aware that Dr. MichaelFelder would not be returning my call it's a shame that this review had to go online when I really could have expressed this with a simple phone call. Located off of South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, in…read morethe Emory-Adventist Hospital (used to be Smyrna General Hospital) office building, Dr. Demarco's office is on the 2nd floor in Suite 206. There are elevators available and plenty of parking in the open lot directly outside the building. DeMarco's assistant Shante is available by phone to make appointments or to get medication refills prescriptions. Upon arrival for your appointment, expect to wait 20-30 minutes. I always bring a book to read since most magazines in the waiting room are months old. The sign in sheet is available at the sign-in window which is built with sliding glass panes that are always kept closed and are tinted to be non-see through. How the staff know when a patient has arrived is anyone's guess. There is no bell or ringer to press and patients are warned not to tap on the non-see through glass. (for fear it will shatter? Or because the staff doesn't want to be disturbed?) Once you sign in and the staff acknowledge you, your records will be checked and any co-pay or changes in insurance will be taken/noted. After that you are in for the long haul, waiting until they call you. Once you are in the patient room, all goes smoothly and quickly. DeMarco comes in within 2 minutes of being in the room, carrying his laptop portable, digital medical records. Then the once-over check begins. After the initial baseline has been established, the more pressing matters (the reason why you are there) are addressed. Listening carefully, DeMarco addresses all concerns and gives his opinions as to how to remedy the illness. After this brief discussion, the visit is concluded satisfactorily and you are released! As a generalist, I can recommend Dr. DeMarco, but for anything serious or specialized you would be better off seeing the ER or a doctor who specializes in that specified medical area. But that is the definition of General Medicine, right?

He is always so patient and compassionate with me, and at he spends an incredible amount of time with me during my appointments. He is unlike any other physician I have ever seen, he truly cares about his patients and their health. His office is so nice, and his staff is very friendly. It may sound strange, but I look forward to my appointments and seeing everyone in his office, they make you feel so welcome! I have referred some of my friends to him and they have been very pleased also. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a gynecologist!

This year I had 1 medical student but he wasn't very personable (didn't introduce himself, kept saying someone else was gonna come and finish and left the room 5 times but it was always him who came back). I waited for about 30 minutes (despite being the only patient when I arrived early for my appointment) before my visit started. But once it started it was very quick and the physical wasn't thorough but I'm young and healthy. One thing I really like is that they draw lots of labs to check your health status and I have access to the results online through my insurance. The location is great and there is free parking in the Apartment parking deck, just sign in with the concierge.
