Renato Pedrinelli is a terrific little restaurant, in the old port area. The location is awesome: facing west (so incredible sunsets), the majestic yachts in front (living vicariously...), and just below the new (& far more interesting) shopping area. The restaurant has a terrific menu, which naturally features seafood in all of its forms (duh!). The wine list is equally impressive, if for no other reason than it offers numerous tasty wines under 100 euros (rare, in Porto Cervo).
La Contessa started with the Burrata and Parma ham (delicious, though the ham was "a bit too thickly sliced" for her tastes). I had the Bottarga and artichokes, which was very good if a little lemony on the artichokes for me. For our main, I had the Spaghetti All' Asticce (fresh recently living lobster, absolutely heavenly!), & Sweetie had the Vitello Milanese (rated "excellent"). For dessert, we had wine (Gaja's Ca Marcanda Magari)
Overall, VERY enjoyable! We had a couple of very personable and charming waiters, who made everything fun & enjoyable. The very minor issue I had, was that we went "early" - 8:30pm - so we got ALL of the wait staff attention. A bit irritating at first, but that's being churlish: they were all very friendly & helpful!
Interestingly, this was the cheapest dinner (183 euros), and accordingly great value!
Definitely go! Its worth it! read more
