The people working there are busy and practical -- polite and nice, but efficient. They are not there to chit-chat. Prices seem fair, things have always been ready in 3 - 7 days, and the work has always been good. I have had several pairs of pants and jeans hemmed, shirts and sleeves mended, and fancy buttons sewn back on.
The best thing was, after I explained what I wanted, they sewed an inside pocket into my winter jacket. It turned out even better than I imagined. The material has a little stretch, plus a snap button at the top. Now I keep my iPad Mini and backup money in there. A couple weeks later I stopped by to show them how I was using it, and thank them. The lady seemed astonished but pleased!
I would give it five stars except for a couple negatives:
- They don't take your name and number for the order. So they don't call to tell you when your clothes are ready; you just have to come back with your slip. Also I worry, what if you lost the slip? What if something went wrong (you are hit by a bus, say) how would they know whose clothes they have?
- It is quite small. This whole establishment would fit into the changing room of the tailor I went to in Knoxville!
The changing room is... a chair with a couple curtains pulled around it.
So I recommend it, but set your expectations: efficient sewing for a fair price. Don't expect tea while you wait in a lovely environment or a call when your order is ready to pick up.
