Renaissance Youth Center is a leading community center in the South Bronx offering after school programs, music classes, and youth development programs for kids and teens. We provide a safe, structured environment where students ages 6–21 can participate in after school programs, performing arts, music training, dance, STEM, tutoring, and mentorship programs in the Bronx. Our students gain hands-on experience in music programs, youth band performance, and live events across NYC, helping them build confidence, discipline, and real-world skills. Families choose Renaissance because we offer: After school programs in the Bronx Music and performing arts programs for kids Academic support and tutoring Teen programs focused on leadership and growth Located in the South Bronx, we are committed to providing high-quality youth programs, after school activities, and enrichment opportunities for children and teens in NYC.

History

Established in 2001.

Renaissance was founded to fill the gap left by school budgets that no longer included music classes and sports. We have grown into an organization that serves 4,000 kids each year, at our headquarters, afterschool sites, and over 30 schools across NYC.

Mr. Harris is a CEO, music producer, songwriter, musician, vocalist, coach, mentor, and much more. He wants all kids in NYC to have access to classes that develop their passions and mentors who invest time and support into making dreams happen.

As soon I entered the lobby, the female security guard greeted me. I asked if there's a fitness room at this rec center. She said there is and politely gave me clear directions to that room. There was a personal trainer in the lobby. As soon as he heard that I was new to the center, he introduced himself and mentioned that he offers free 30 minute sessions. How cool! And very good to know. ATMOSPHERE They offer many things here: fitness room with treadmills, biked, and some strength machines. There's a conference room, where I saw a class or workshop taking place . There's a computer room with 5 to 10 machines. There's also an outdoor pool, which is open the summer. The rooms looked clean. Bathroom looked decent enough.

I basically grew up here I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't gone to RYC This place has helped me open up and express myself through music . Renaissance youth center has changed my life. My sister and I joined through Ryc teaching at out school in the 6th grade, I am honored we are now young adults and this is that program we wished everyone had as a kid. please support tell a friend to tell a friend we do STEAM and music classes! ryc even has a traveling band called Music with a Message! The sky is the limit at the Renaissance Youth Center. Students can learn Musical instruments, Coding, Robotics, Agriculture, Zoology, and more. They even have a Youth Council that meets monthly to discuss issues in their neighborhoods and come up with solutions for those issues. This place has something for everyone.
