It was a pleasant surprise for us this morning. We did catch up with another two golfers that we ended up joining. The next 7 holes we did wait for golfers at each hole until we started the back nine and the pace actually picked up which was pretty surprising, this is not the norm. The fairways and greens are in decent condition, some could use more watering and players should repair their divots and ball marks to assist in keeping the course in better condition. Cypress Creek has ample parking, a driving range, chipping area and putting green. The golf carts have GPS which is a nice to utilize. Had a fun time today, it was great to be outside.

Cypress Creek is a nice course that will challenge every level of golfer. Thumbs up from me!

This arrangement of golf variety gives players twenty seven different holes to play on four sets of tees from front Gold (4400 yards) to back Blue (6000 yards) with a par of 71. Nobody's golf game shall be frowned upon as the front boxes promote swift play to the inexperienced and some challenges to the better players. I quickly took off from the White tees as the Ranger saw me coming and out me in front of two apparently slower groups. I told him that "I play fast" he assured me to "take my time, there's not many players out" this was New Years Day. Pounding my new PING up the left side, I quickly noticed that I had to push it back to the Blues and this links style course was wide open and there for the taking. Fairly large and well bunkered greens - (no potbelly's but a few whales, not very deep) received my approaches and held each line I put my strokes in - each putt I looked at had minimal break - burning edges I really didn't make much and left more than a few birdies as I went out in 42. Coming back, I began to take in the beautiful surroundings of pines and oaks lining the fairways, but also aware of the impending doom of all the dangerous water on almost every hole. The course did play short for me as it was Driver wedge on a few, 3Wood 9iron or 8iron most of the round - but as I'm getting a bit older, this suits me just fine - I don't look forward to continuous 440-450-460 yard par 4's like I used to - but I still enjoy a few. ere's a fun reflection upon my 25+ golfing years.

Not an optimal arrangement and a bit confusing. It's Palms to Oaks, Oaks to Lakes or Lakes to Palms, if that clarifies it. Lots of water and sand hazards. Greens well kept; the entire course is, really. Was a bit crowded when we feed off at 11am but no one caught up to us. A weird thing about this course is how tight the turns are. Lots of switchbacks so you always have another group to your right or left...and sometimes both. I hit a guy's cart and we had more than a couple stray balls land near us from unknown players on other holes. We found that this did make the playing go faster, for what that's worth. And on top of that, there are driving ranges right in the middle of the 3 courses. You'll see lots of range balls on the fairways... For those who are new to this course, finding the holes can be very confusing. The course definitely needs more markers directing players to the holes. The carts have a warning sign in them to call the Pro Shop I if you encounter problems with the cart. And sure enough, we came up on a stranded player whose cart had died. He was pretty frustrated. Nice folks at the Pro Shop and check in, though I just don't think this course is for me for the above reasons.

The food was filling and the slower pace is great when you are accommodating and allowing yourself to get water or beverages/clubhouse food. We got to practice our shots and enjoy the weather. I saw rangers on two different occasions but they did not approach us and everybody was highly accommodating It was nice to see a Callaway tent but when you are booking a tee time you have to speak to two different representatives and the times constantly are getting booked and becoming unavailable especially during high season. I wish they had a driving range or a simulator because this would be the only reason to not sign up for a membership with Club Renaissance.

Well laid out and just challenging enough. The greens were in good condition and it wasn't overly crowded for a weekday. We stopped in for drinks and sandwiches after the 9th hole and the folks in the restaurant and bar were friendly and the food was good. Beers were less than $2.50! We wrapped up the course and both agreed it was one of the better, funner courses we'd played in a while. It was also one of the more pricier courses, so there's that... Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Some areas are for members only now. I checked in at the pro shop and chatted with some of the guys inside for a few. Don who works the cart barn is always great to talk to and always in a good mood. Spoke to him for a few minutes before going out and starting my round. Got paired up with another regular that plays here often. It was a good pairing as we both had a similar golf game. The course is in great shape, it is a little wet on a few holes, we have been getting rain more often these days so that is understandable. The overall course conditions were good, only about 4 holes were cart path only if I remember correctly. Green putted well, no inconsistencies, I just need to learn how to putt better. This course is fun and challenging with water hazards, so hit them straight and you should be good to go. I am looking forward to playing this course again. Some pros and cons. Pros: Convenient location, easy access with plenty of parking. The staff here in the pro shop are excellent, Don in the cart barn was a great guy to chat with! The golf carts are newer and have GPS, very nice ride! The practice areas here are phenomenal, nice putting green with lots of room to make those extremely long putts. Driving range is awesome. There is also a beverage cart and saw it several times throughout the round so there is no reason to go thirsty during the day. Ball cleaners were available throughout the course. Pace of play was good, didn't have to wait until the last hole, which was a huge surprise. Cons: The chipping green to work on your short game with a sand trap to utilize is only for members.

I have been coming to this golf course for a couple of years now. It was one of my favorite in the…read morearea. Not anymore. Most recently they have been bought out and are under new management. Tee times are every seven minutes which cause the game and holes to be completely backed up. Do not expect to get 18 holes in if you're playing anytime past two. On top of them packing in teetimes they have no Rangers and no management therefore almost every time I go and play there are more than five people playing at a hole. (Rules are no more than 4). It is literally a free-for-all. Another time I went two people went in front of me when their tee time was later and left the pair that they were paired up with. Again, all of this contributes to the backing up of the course. All I can say is with the new management it is absolutely terrible and they do not care. Very disappointing this place is not what it used to be. FYI the same management company owns Bloomingfield , Cypress Creek, and Huntington Hills, expect the same mess and lack of management at all these courses. On a positive note, the greens look really good and the course is well kept however what's the point when you can't even play a full 18 holes due to the backing up of the course.

In this review I'm going to mainly talk about taking advantage on the par 3 holes that you'll have…read morefour of on any championship par 72 golf course. Executive golf courses are comprised of multiple par 3's, playing to a par of 60, you can definitely find tune your mid to low iron play at these courses. Anytime your in the teeing area you must know that you have great advantages and set yourself up to the full use of them. Ball tee hight, shot angles away from dangers, distance and yardage. Depending on your skill level all of these factors should be used to create the best opportunity to hit the green, two putt for par and maybe drop in a birdie but play for par, center of the green - no flag hunting ever unless you know the course and know the placements. Think like the golf course architect, do a little research on him. What does he do to guard against your ball? High thick rough? heavily bunkered? swails and waving countours on the green? How does it slope? Front to back but more likely back to front. By PGA and R&A Rules your allowed two club lengths back from the teeing area your playing from. So two driver lengths is 90 inches approximately, so if your yardage book is giving you 172 from the blue tees and your sure you can hit a 7 iron 177 if you pure it, pace off three steps back to 176 and play from there, legally without penalty. I'm a high ball hitter, I like to open the club a little and hit a little baby fade into flagsticks although I prefer to draw the ball. Problem is the draw double cross miss can result in a overcooked ten yard yank that'll put your ball off the green, under a bush and a tunnel of trees ahead. How your wrist a bit, keep it locked, aim just left of the flag (unless the wind is blowing right with a left flag) club up a bit, hit the 6 instead of the 7 choking down a bit. The biggest problem I see with amateur players is that they don't hit enough club, coming up short and facing a testy bump and run, pitch, chip or flop all which are shots one must practice hard and play with confidence, so avoid the short misses. Freedom Fairways will give you the opportunity to play these 150 and in shorts, the most important scoring shots. Nobody likes to work on this most important scoring zone and I don't understand why. I'd drill for hours on 50-60-70 yarders until the sun went down and my hands hurt. So in conclusion, play the executive courses, although Freedom Fairways might be the only one in the area. And go see Doc in the club making area near the first tee. His knowledge and wisdom had me ask him to watch my practice which he did and said I'm "an over swinger" which I can not deny. But I still love to Grip it and Rip it.
