This was the first school my child attended and in the few weeks she was there she started exhibiting aggressive behaviors she never displayed prior to attending. She started hitting, scratching, pinching, and pushing. They use covid as the reason to not allow parents to set foot in the school so you never know what is going on in your kids class and can never see or communicate with the teachers. Teachers are supposed to message you daily and give you updates but I was lucky if I got one photo a day and many days I got no updates on my child and 80% of my messages to the teachers would go unanswered. I brought this up to the director and she shrugged it off. When your child is too young to talk, this is NOT okay. This school does not care how sick kids are as they never send them home. Every time I looked through her classroom window or got a photo I saw kids visibly sick with green mucus running down their noses or coughing/ sneezing non-stop. Yes, I know that it is normal for kids to get sick when starting school but this was another level of sick. Every 3-5 days my daughter was sick with something different, had to go to urgent care, and even got pink eye. I missed so much work staying home with her sick and then getting me sick that it defeated the purpose of paying for child care. The last straw was when my child was bitten by another kid. The bite was so hard you could still see the imprint of every tooth on my childs arm the next day. I should have been called immediately by the director. Instead I was sent a text message by teacher and it was treated like no big deal. I asked 3 separate times for the director to contact me about the incident and she never bothered to call me. I had to track her down and when I finally spoke to her on the phone she was very dismissive and acted like it was no big deal. The few times I was able to peer in my child class through the window I saw the kids playing with toys by themselves while the "teacher" was just there watching them. They do not provide enriching activities or play and teach the kids. They do the bare minimum and just supervise them. My daughter is now in a new school and the difference in her behavior is night and day. Aggressive behavior immediately stopped and she is excited to go to school and runs inside when she sees her teacher instead of crying and not wanting to let me go like she would do at Riverside.

They listen to our concerns and treat each child and parent with care. We are not just numbers; we are a family. The cleanliness of the school is remarkable; sometimes you don't even realize children are in the room. My child is African American, yet she is learning Spanish, which has left me speechless. From the front desk to the cafeteria staff, everyone has been nothing but great and positive. As my daughter enters preschool, I am excited to see even more growth than she has already achieved. I went to this school from 1-5 grade, and honestly I blame a lot of my problems on this school. I'm…read morein 9th grade (going into 10th now), and The Biltmore School left me severely underprepared for regular school life. Yes, the small hands on approach is definitely good for children with disabilities/developmental issues, however if you take a child without these difficulties and then put them into a regular school (public schools) your kids gonna have a lot of problems. The schools probably changed since my time attending, sure, however while I was there, it was even unsafe for kids with issues. An example of this would be with my cousin who also attended at the same time as me, who was autistic and low support needs. He was a victim of bullying, which got the a point where a student broke his arm. As for me, I didn't have these sorts of issues (I have ADHD but that's never effected my learning so I don't count it) and after I left The Biltmore, I was introduced to many different learning tools such as iready, IXL, ect. However, The Biltmore never taught me how to use these programs, and the larger classes of public schools meant that my teachers rarely offered me help with using these programs, leaving me to teach myself which made me struggle at the beginning of my education in public schools. To any parents thinking of sending your children here; DO NOT. DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!!!! As a former student, I'm begging you not to send your kids here, it was genuinely one of the worst experiences of my life.

I am truly sorry, I did not know and now that I know better, I will never use them again. He is stiill thriving here and the supports provided to help him suceed are stronger than ever. Enrolling him here in kindergarten was one of the best decisions I could have ever made. He is included and it's evident in his friends group chat on his phone. They adore him and that makes my heart so happy. It truly is a blessing when you can leave your child at school every day and never have to worry. All of his teachers have been a blessing! My youngest child is in 1st grade and also thriving!

We wanted a place for our child to explore nature, feel adventurous, make friends, play a lot and learn in English and Spanish! We got that and so much more. Everyone here is responsive, respectful, supportive, loving and caring. Can't say enough great things about GEA. All the parents are also very supportive and easy to connect with.
