To echo the other reviews .. this facility is NOT LICENSED by the state of Indiana. They are…read moreunlicensed but registered with no accreditations or PTQ level. The last state inspection showed 9 employees without background checks (the director said it was a mistake) but if you check Indiana website for the report you can see it. I paid a deposit under false pretenses and the director refuses to give it back because it was needed for "supplies" for my infant. As parents, we were told to supply everything. I'm very disappointed in the practices here and the fact that they aren't truthful. Huge red flags. Not to mention, the infant classroom I observed broke the ratio of 1:4 while I was there, they don't follow proper diapering procedures, and allow street shoes on the floors in the classroom where the children are constantly crawling and lying down (which made sense since almost all of them had runny noses and coughs). As a former childcare provider, I have high standards. After everything I uncovered I was very disappointed and uncomfortable sending my baby to this facility.

Immediately my daughter, who has never been around other children, is being sent home with notes saying she scratched this child or hurt that child. I was starting to become very unnerved when they sent me a letter saying if she hurts one more child she will be kicked out. Then they tell me they are moving her to the toddler class. Then they change her toddler teacher two more times. Then I get a note saying she injured an infant (this all happened in about 10 months). During the early morning they have 10 plus children all ages with one teacher until others arrive later. So my two year old was blamed for injuring an infant and I am told I am a bad parent. Enough said I had a conversation with them they didn't like so they kicked her out! They also stole all of her brand new school supplies and kept the $100 I just gave them to update their playground. To top it off one of the teachers constantly makes TikToks in the daycare with some of the children and is constantly on their phone (aka no is watching your child). They also would leave my daughter in a high chair for God only knows how long (so many stool stained pants to count). They lie when they say they are open till 6:00pm because they complained the one time my husband came after 5:00pm and they said they aren't open past then ever. They also complain if you bring your child in after 9:00am, which makes no sense when you are paying them for childcare. They have an app they never update. They would also say every day my child threw her food on the floor so she didn't eat. What an unorganized, unsafe, and careless place. I feel horrible for the children that still attend.

I have never sent my child to daycare so I was very hesitant and nervous. I had my aunt come with me on every tour I went on, and we both agreed on so many things. Kinder care we both agreed felt the most comfortable, welcoming, and just more at home/down to earth. For the price you pay for child care we expect to be able to show something for it, whether it be excitement at the end of the day, or fun activities, anything really. And Kinder Care provides that. My child was nervous going to daycare as was I, this was a huge step for us both. He's 5 and I was waiting for the water works to start as soon as day 1 came. But to my surprise he was excited, I think the fact that they had some kind of activity everyday planned out got him interested. Not only that but as his parent I felt comfortable when they actually looked out for my child. Day 1 we walked into his age group and he was uncomfortable, wouldn't leave my side, didn't talk to anyone. The director Eryn came in after watching him and told me she thought he would be most comfortable in another classroom. I said whatever you think, we pulled him into a different age group and the difference just walking into the other classroom compared to the first was HUGE. He immediately sat down and started playing and he wasnt even nervous anymore. Its been a few weeks since we started our journey and I currently have nothing negative to say. He is so happy every time I pick him up, tells me all the stuff he is doing, and is getting some great interactions/making friends. I also want to add I love that everyone seems to recognize everyone. It didnt take long before staff just started knowing not only my child's name but putting my face to the child. I also have to give a special shout out to his teacher Miss Denise, he thinks she is the best! She has also been super helpful in being extra considerate when he may have a hard day here and there and not only do I appreciate it, but he does too. He said she really cares.

My daughter actually pulled my grandbaby out of this program a while back, and a big part of that was because the way the front office carries themselves I'll never forget the day I went in there to pick up my grandbaby. I had a simple question about the sign-out, and the way the lady from the office spoke to me... it was just demanding. It was not just being "busy" it was a "better-than-you" attitude that made me feel like a nuisance just for standing there. At my age, I've dealt with plenty of schools and programs, and I know when someone is looking down their nose at you. It's a shame because you're trusting these people with your heart and soul, but they act like giving you a respectful answer is doing you a favor. If the admins can't show a grandmother some basic professional respect, they probably can't show a grandbaby any respect either, you know what I'm saying?

Only reason I won't be completely honest and specific with with review is because I am almost…read morecertain the Niles faculty will cause even more issues for me as some kind of "revenge". Without putting my personal experience in too much, let me say things all students will experience. The school has a rodent problem. Multiple people, including staff, have found dead mice or rats in lockers. The school has also been redone in 2018, and faculty complains that it was done badly. Even basic features are messed up. The tile is off centered. The outlets by sinks are not water proofed, so they get ruined easily. The school set up is just strange. In some hallways, there is only a bathroom for one sex. The school has an attendance policy that can easily ruin your child's grade and definitely cause unneeded issues. Your child is allowed 5 absences a quarter. After that, every absence takes 5% off your grade. 5% is big, and niles wonders why 25% of their freshman were failing (according to the principal). Even if a parent calls in and/or the child has a doctors note, it doesn't matter. You can try to "appeal" the absence, but that basically never works. You can, however, serve detention to make it up. But detention makeup ends before the quarter/school year ends. The school is also not high in national or state rankings. The efficiency rate in English is only 60%, and math is only 30%. The high school also pushes New Tech severely. New tech is a form of learning where all work is done as group projects. That literally sounds like every child's nightmare. If you fail one class in new tech, you automatically fail two because the subjects are "bound". They don't educate children on their many other educational programs. They offer Andrews University (math and science, very competitive), SMC and LMC (college level classes at the campus), and early college (take classes at LMC and SMC, graduate a year later than you should with a degree). Multiple students have said the school counselors lie to them about these programs, saying "you're not allowed to do that", even though they have every right to participate. They also tell students they're not allowed to test out of classes, even though Michigan legally allows students to test out of any class. Many parents have expressed concern about this.

We watched a peewee football game for a bit before we were granted access. The school is gorgeous on the outside, and the field is very well-kept. Turf field, with a nice press box, big concessions stand, and very clean bathrooms. Can't say much about anything else, but I wouldn't mind teaching here.
