Nadia the director helped us figure out a schedule to transition him in before he was full time. Then this was his first time in full time care and all of the teachers were so warm and caring that he was immediately eager to go to school every day. It is a fairly small school so our son was thrilled to get to know some of the "big" kids and eager to move up a class each year. He constantly amazes us with all he has learned at LPP and he loves the enrichment classes he takes like art, dance, science, and music. Since the school is in downtown Maplewood, the kids get to spend outdoor time in Memorial Park, walk over to the library, and explore on walks. We greatly appreciate the great hours as two commuting parents. Most important to us is how we see LPP helping our son become a kind and caring citizen of the world. He loves to "play play play" at school and we see how he is doing that and much more at LPP. Can't wait to send our younger child there when she is old enough!

The frequent communication and feedback from the school's staff was prompt and helpful; the app worked well. We'll be sending our daughter here for summer sessions!

Upon enrolling into Zadie's early childhood development center I was excited. My child was getting…read moreintroduced to preschool and I was referred to them so I was happy. I informed the school of dietary restrictions for my child and also had given all forms required by them prior to starting from the doctor. Unfortunately this allergy was not taken seriously. On multiple occasions my child was served foods that they were allergic to. After the 1st time I was then told that the allergy chart was not up and that there was a miscommunication and it was understood that there were no restrictions for the child's diet. (Even though there was doctors notes in place) I was also told I would have to bring food from home or that they can serve the sides of the day excluding the protein. I was also told that the child would be separated from the rest of the class to make sure of the possibility of the child eating someone's else food wouldnt happen. I thought this would be a good idea but still from then on I was so paranoid that I would remind the staff the day of and call after lunch each time this item was on the menu to assure my child was ok. On the second occasion I spoke to the teacher who ASSURED me that my child did not eat the allergic item. 30 mins later I get a call that my child actually did and was experiencing allergic reactions. I was told that the teacher, yes the teacher was out of the room durning lunchtime and that the aid served lunch and fail to check the chart. With all that being said if you don't want to micro manage your child's school just skip this one. The staff is undertrained and the most important things get overlooked.

The way the staff communicates to the children with active listening continues to inform all of my human interactions. Playhouse still has our hearts. I won't take the Playhouse bumper sticker off of my minivan- even though our last child graduated 2 years ago. I want other Playhouse families to recognize us- because those are some of the best parents I've met on this journey yet.

The teachers and directors are incredibly warm and absolutely pros. Career early educators who are nurturing and attentive to children's needs and behaviors. This summer, I attended an event on the grounds of Montclair community pre-k. It was an outdoor…read morebarbecue with many vendors. The pre-K staff had a booth set up and I visited it. My daughter happens to be approaching the pre-K age. I WAS (keyword is WAS!) considering Montclair community pre-K as one of our options. I approached the booth and began looking at some of the literature. One of the staff members approached me and immediately said "do you live in Montclair?". I said no. She proceeded to tell me that my child was not eligible for financial aid because we did not live in Montclair. (FYI, I did not ask about financial aid. We DO NOT even need financial aid. I did not get the chance to ask any questions. Her first thought was that we must need financial aid because we don't live in Montclair). I thought to myself OK, not the best way to sell your institution, but whatever. I proceeded to ask some questions regarding the institution (i.e. classroom size, teacher to student ratio, curriculum, etc.) She then AGAIN continued to tell me how my child would not be eligible for financial aid because I did not live in Montclair. I tossed the brochure on the table and walked away. Your institution just lost a potential new student. If this woman spoke to anyone else, whom does not live in Montclair, i'm sure they were turned off by her abrasive and dismissive attitude. You may not want her to continue to be the face of your institution.

This is my son's second year at the Pre-K and I truly love this school. His teacher this year is a…read moremaster teacher that is able to embed academic learning within themed-based units. The students most recently opened a cafe in their classroom where they used math, reading and writing to create and run the cafe. Most importantly, he has consistently learned about empathy and compassion for others, in particular, his classmates. Character development is explicitly taught and experienced in weekly activities. Truly all the staff is incredibly kind and wonderful. I find it shocking that there is another review that felt differently. The directors of the school, not only know my son's name that goes to the school, but also the names of my two smaller children. When you come to the pre-k, it feels like family.

We were frantically looking for a new service, but everyone rejected us. That is until we made a plea to the owners of Education Station and they made room for our little girl. Fast forward seven years later and we can't thank them enough. Both of our children attended ES and went into kindergarten fully confident in themselves. Not only did they have an academic head start, but they also learned to properly socialize with other children. Can't neglect the fact that if you work in New York, ES is one block away from the train station. Doesn't get any more convenient than that!

The teachers are all so warm, sweet, and energetic. I always felt that they truly cared about my daughter, and made her (and all the other kids) feel loved. They do tons of activities with them (including gardening, water play in the summer, etc) and have an impressive amount of outdoor space to play. Their communication was always easy and smooth, including through the pandemic, and the owner/director is flexible and kind. I can't say enough good things about Education Station! My husband and I are both teachers and we highly recommend Education Station. We feel lucky we found it.

It's a small school, so it is easier to get to know everyone on a personal level. The teachers are very caring, and it seems as though they put their heart and souls into their roles. I can't imagine a better, safer environment to bring my child :)

We've been here about a month and the experience is worlds away from what we've experienced at 2…read moreprior daycares. The teachers actually care and learn how to treat each individual student. The turnover is not high, every staff member knows our children by name and greet them warmly everyday. If a child is having a tough day, everyone jumps in to try and help. No daily reports over things that children do as apart of growing pains/being a kid. So happy we moved to this location and truly wish we found it sooner.
