I was referred to this business for large format scanning. I was told to ask for Richard, who just…read morehappened to be the person who greeted me when I walked in. I'm an artist, and I dress the part, I look half vagabond, half homeless; paint all over my clothes, unkempt hair and Crocs. You can imagine it. Richard didn't flinch, he greeted me with a smile and asked me how I'd heard about the place. He admitted that the large format scanner was a new purchase for their business and that he was still learning how to use it. I was picking up what he was throwing down, he motioned for me to accompany him behind the scenes to see the machine and how he had to feed my large illustration into the scanner. I'd never seen a scanner like this one, saves on space, but I'm sure there is a limit to the thickness of what you can scan. While the image was scanning and touching on the fact that I am an artist, Richard pointed to the rear of the business and said there was art on the walls. he had some work by an artist that he seemed to know personally. The work was of the highest caliber, and I'll be the first to say that I thought these illustrations were photographs. This gave me a chance to see the rest of their setup, a seguay into the back area where a cluster of desks was housed, with employees working on various tasks. It gave me reason to ask what other services they offered, to which Richard informed me that Geer Services builds websites in addition to providing an array of printing services. They didn't have a price schedule in play for large format scans yet as they were still breaking in the scanner, so he gave me the scan, which was saved to my flash drive (don't forget to bring a flash drive for large files like that!), at an obscenely low rate. Hats off to this family owned and operated local business, which at the time of this review has been in the building for over eight years. I will definitely give them my repeat business.
