I loved the "Advanced Landscapes: Indoors and Interiors" photography workshop at Grand Central Station in NY. This was my first class with Remember Forever Photography, taking advantage of a LivingSocial deal. Scott Dengrove ran a great 3-hour lesson with a small group. He brought an iPad to present some cool charts and graphs on exposure and composition, and also showed us some great sample pictures to illustrate the concepts being explained. We also had plenty of time to go around the Grand Central Station to take pictures and practice the tips learned. Scott devoted plenty of time to review our sample pictures and provided great feedback and additional suggestions. I found this class very valuable and look forward to enroll in future classes at Remember Forever Photography. I highly recommend it! read more

Wow. I forgot about this scam of a company but was reminded when I received notice of a class action lawsuit against them. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM. Company collects your money and does not hold the classes. I booked the Love your Camera class and the instructor was a no show. There were 10 people gathered in Columbus circle all trying to contact the instructor and the company but no answer on either end. Everyone left after 60 minutes. The company never contacted me to reschedule or apologize for wasting my Saturday morning. I finally reached them over email and rescheduled for a couple months later, the next class. The morning of the class when I was already on a bus into the city, they text to cancel the class! The message even had something about "looking forward to the opportunity to make it up" to the customers. But again - NO contact made to reschedule and it's been nearly two months. read more

We had a small class, four of us, which gave us a lot of interaction with our instructor, and helped me learn a great deal. What a great workshop! I got 2 classes as a birthday gift from Groupon, and took my first class this passed weekend with Byron. The class focused on camera basics and how to shoot without ever using the Auto setting ever again (which is exactly what I was looking to start learning!) It was beyond cold so the 9 of us went inside to a cafe for the first 2 hours to begin learning about our camera settings and all the basics that you must know before using that expensive camera you bought. Byron gave us all the right pointers from the basic and necessary aperture, shutter, and ISO you need to take the picture with the right colors. If you have a fancy camera and want to know how to use it, then definitely take this class called "Know your camera". Looking forward to my next one which focuses on people, faces and family. read more

Like Nich, I was also SCAMMED. This is one of the worst companies to deal with. I was supposed to be an instructor for the classes, after I did a few classes I was never paid for the classes. Unreliable and unprofessional. I reserved a class twice with Remember Forever and both times they were a no-show and unreachable. The amazing Yelp reviews were the reason I signed up in the first place but I am astounded that they are still in business. I did 3 workshops with them and everything was perfect but in July I bought the unlimited voucher and since then they have cancelled every single workshop that I tried to do. The reasons for the cancellations are just amazing and don't expect to get any reply if you send them an email or call. However, I also don't want companies who take people's money without an semblance of responsibility or accountability toward those people to be able to continue to operate in that manner. This is an Australian company, and they do not seem to have any concept (or they don't care) about consumer rights in the US. My parent's bought me a Nikon DSLR camera for Christmas and I instantly fell in love with it; too bad I had no idea how to use it! I bought a voucher for the "Love your camera" class and I definitely was looking forward to learning how to use my camera. Luke was our instructor and he was amazing! We learned how to use the camera in manual and this class definitely taught you way more than any guide that comes with the camera can (I know because I had read mine before attending the class). I definitely recommend this company to everyone, especially people interested in really learning how to use the camera while having fun and getting to interact with a group of new people! read more

I took the Love Your Camera workshop and in three hours I felt more knowledgeable and comfortable with my DSLR then I have in the 6 months since I bought it. Luke was extremely helpful and moved at a great teaching pace. He explained everything in technical terms and also in a simplified manner so that we wouldn't be confused (as newbies). It was absolutely frigid in Central Park but I would go out there again. I bought the class from a Time Out New York deal and will absolutely pay full price for another class in the future. Totally worth it. If you aren't comfortable with your DSLR yet or want to take your skills to the next level, I HIGHLY recommend Remember Forever. read more

Luke is Fantastic! Jumps right in to save the day with a moments notices. I can only imagine what he and his team can do with more time. From creating a backdrop, getting props (Pirate gear), and making sure everything is fully set up. Amazing fun to talk to and work with, a great personality... feels like family almost. I took the "Love Your Camera" to learn how to use the initially-daunting manual mode in my new camera. After three hours, I can not believe how much I really came away with on how to understand aperture, depth of field, white balance, focal point and so many other important key concepts in building a good photo - no longer do I need to rely on auto and program modes, and I am excited to really experiment. The instructor was great and easy to understand. After each concept was introduced, we had the chance to practice that concept right there in Central Park and he made himself available for questions if we had any. The group was also very intimate - only 6 learners in all. I'd definitely recommend them and am looking forward to their other classes as I continue learning. read more

I met Luke (the instructor) at a tapas bar while out to lunch with my fiancé. We got to talking and he let me know he owned a photography business and that they offered classes. I thought about how I had purchased a canon t2i last year and had yet to really learn how to use it. Looking to take up a new hobby, I signed up for the Love Your Camera class. LOVED IT! Learned all about aperture, exposure, and how to never again rely on "automatic" mode. I liked the class so much that I took his night photography course a couple weeks later. The pictures I took from that class of the NYC skyline are postcard worthy! I would highly recommend these classes, especially if you happen to have a decent camera and want to learn how it works. For the night class you will need a tripod. Once I invest in a wider angle lens I'll be signing up for the Landscapes class. :-) read more

I was very happy with the class even though the weather took us out of the park, although I wouldn't have wanted to be outside in the snow anyway!! Byron's a great teacher and took the time to answer everyone's questions and we were obviously just scratching the surface of the information he had for us. I took the "Love Your Camera, Love Your Photos" class with Delvin (sp). And I have to say that he is a great teacher. First off, I was such a beginner's beginner that I did not even register that the Canon G12 was NOT actually a DSLR camera. But Delvin did not call me out -- he patiently assisted me with the settings of my little camera. The fact that he is light hearted and easy going belies the fact that he is a knowledgeable and consummate professional. However, he did the "Oprah' thing with me when I said, I'll have a 'proper' camera next time. He 'warned' me how expensive photographic equipment can be with no information whatsoever on who I am; where I came from and whether or not I could actually afford the Cannon EOS. I guess these perspectives are ingrained. We took the "Love your camera" workshop with Devlin. Prospect Park was a great venue and Devlin was a great teacher. He is clearly knowledgeable about what he was teaching. He was friendly, and fun to learn from. We learned the basics of how to use our DSLR camera. He was very familiar with our type of camera, (CANON). He gave us good pointers. He taught us the basics of how to take a manual photo and gave us the opportunity to test out what we learned. Even after our class was over, my husband and I were testing what we learned and Devlin happened to walk by and gave us some more tips. We did not take notes during the lesson, we just took pictures and tried to retain the information. At the end of the class, Devlin said that they would send over a workbook detailing everything we learned that day. Well two days later we received the workbook that is detailed, with colors, and pictures and diagrams, really giving us something to refer to. Our group was a nice size. We were all able to get personal attention. We would definitely take another class with this company. read more

I'm so very happy I took classes from Remember Forever. Remember Forever really helped me to understand my camera and in order to take the best pictures possible. I'm a beginner to photography and recently just bought a brand new Nikon DSLR D5200. I really wanted to learn all about my cameras functions so I ended up signing up for 2 of Remember forever's classes, Love your Camera, Love Your Photos & Places, Landscapes and Travels . The 1st class Love your Camera, Love Your Photos really helped me to get adapted to my camera and taught me all the things I needed and wanted to know so I could go out and actually use my camera the way it was made to be used. After completion of my 1st class I knew so much more about my camera and all the features that now I was able to take pictures in a more professional manner not using any of my cameras preset buttons. I was now knowledgeable of the buttons on my camera and was able to set my own cameras settings depending on the environment around me. This is a really great class and I highly recommend it to anyone just starting out in photography. The 2nd class I took Places, Landscapes and Travels was also a great class. Being that I'm going to be traveling to Costa Rica soon this class really taught me everything I need to know when I'm away and how to photograph and bring back to best pictures while on my trip. This class not only taught me how to shoot and get the best photos possible but also taught me why and what I was photographing and how to get the best out of each picture. I'm so glad I took this class because now I know I'll come back with some great pictures that I'll treasure forever. I have to say that I was very pleased and look forward to taking more classes from Remember Forever. Not only is the Teacher (Byron) Professional, he is very well educated, smart, funny and really keeps you involved giving you the best learning experience in a way that is educational, entertaining and fun. Took the nighttime photo class and could not believe the pictures that I took by my self on my own camera!! The class was broken down into laymen's terms and I came out of the class with more than a few "aha" moments! It was a great class and Luke and Devon were awesome! I took a really great class with Devlin a little over a week ago. He clearly explained how to use the manual settings which was so helpful and I walked away more excited about my new camera. During the class he mentioned we would receive a handbook following the class which would cover everything that he had taught us so there was no need to take notes during the class. After following up with the company three times to ask when we we would receive that handbook I still have gotten no response and no handbook. So...great class, but not pretty bad communication and follow-up. read more

I live in Las Vegas, so I decided to take the Strip safari on spring break. Kevin was awesome! He expertly tailored instruction for me and my co-attendee for our skill levels. I learned several technical skills that I was vaguely familiar with, but now are part of my repertoire. Our time even extended past the prescribed limit (this was a plus!) because he was so thorough in his instruction. I took the first session of classes offered in D.C. since Amazon Local gave such a great deal for a trio of classes. And boy was I glad. I've been a professional videographer for 8 years and only recently have delved into the land of still photography. I have a lot to learn and can't wait to take more classes. I had expected a reasonably talented teacher and photographer from the nature of the reviews I had read before signing up for classes. But what I did not expect was the world-class skill of Luke as a teacher. He truly is a master photographer, and his tips are invaluable. My husband was booked for a workshop through Remember Forever Photography last month. We were on vacation in Vegas, the workshop ran from 6 to 10:30 so after eating dinner at 4:30 just to make it to the meeting point (which was all the way at the far end of the strip) on time no one showed up. We NEVER received a call or email telling us my husband's workshop had been canceled. It would have been nice to know as we would have gone to a show instead of wasting our evening waiting for an instructor- Julio, who never showed up. My husband called Julio, leaving a voicemail and never received a call back. We called several other numbers and got no response from them. After waiting 1/2 an hour from when the time the workshop was to begin we gave up. I called the next day to try to get our money back and was disgusted by the lack of customer service! I was first told by the man who answered the phone that he could not find my husband's name in the computer. I asked if he wanted the booking number as I had the confirmation email right in front of me. The man who answered the phone miraculously found my husband's name. He then told me that my husband was booked for a workshop in NYC, I read the email to him, "It says here Las Vegas, Nevada, Location, the Las Vegas Strip," I told him, then he told me that the phone number they had for us was incorrect, It was correct on the email. Finally he gave the excuse that they had recently switched software and were having some difficulty with that. I asked than why did my husband get an email from them asking for a review of his workshop? The man who answered the phone was trying as hard as he could to not give the refund so finally I told him enough with the excuses, just give us a refund already. He said I was too angry and would have to call back when I called down and hung up! I have tried to call back several times during business hours and have never had someone answer the phone. I have left voicemails repeatedly after business hours and have not been called back. I just wanted to let everyone know that Remember Forever Photography's customer service is literally nonexistent! read more
