My 1986 TB-10 was 6 months out of routine annual when my aircraft was transported to Hammonds Air Service with request for annual inspection. I was never contacted nor did I think I needed to discuss a routine annual with these clowns. A few months later I started getting invoices to be paid, which I did without question, as I always do. BIG mistake. After all was said and done I paid $8000 for out-sourced prop rebuild, prop governor rebuilt, exhaust re-welding, carb rebuild. I thought that was it and was licking my wounds from that when I received their invoice for $17,000. Holy Sh*t! I did some simple math that showed I was in this for a $25,000 annual, charges NEVER authorized directly or implicitly and on a plane that I cannot sell for $25,000 now. The extreme LACK OF JUDGEMENT (and courtesy) by people who hold your life in their hands is inexplicable. I suppose my fellow pilot who brokered this travesty probably let it slip I was a physician, so maybe that explains it. I have since heard numerous stories regarding issues with this bunch, none positive, and none solicited to confirm my conclusion. One story a pilot I had just met regaled me with involved an engine failure accident he survived immediately following a mechanic service near New Orleans. My curiosity aroused I asked the company that performed the service. You guessed it, Hammonds Air Service.

If you are a young girl trying to learn to fly do not go to with Charlie Hammond. He does not try…read moreto teach you to ways of flying rather just tells you how to do it and expects you to do it right. I have flown with him over 5 hours and he never went over the checklist with me once. After attending a proper flight academy i learned a lot more after one day than those 5 hours with charlie hammond. I see alot of good reviews from older men, so it shows how differently he treats people based on gender from my experience. Also, his wife I believe had a bad attitude with me when I called for a flight. She asked what I called for and have I flown with him before as if I never flown with him. I do not recommend Charlie Hammond's instructing if you are a young girl. If you are a young boy then go for it!

When i went there I was un level 1 and they told me I did not have the skills to past to the next…read morelevel and then I went to a pool in Chauvin and when I went to my first day to the Chauvin pool they used the same skills as fish tails and they said I don't need to be in level 1 and that I need to be in level three with kids that were not even my age. So I don't recommend going to this pool.
