I hired Andy, the business owner, and one helper to work with me sorting through the home, separating trash, donations and items with potential value. His expertise made this overwhelming job go much smoother than expected. Andy holds special qualifications in jewelry and antique appraisal that eliminated a lot of guesswork. He also gave quick, objective, accurate assessments of a whole houseful of odd items like crystal, flatware, china, art, jewelry, furniture and collectables. Downsizeology is not cheap, but they're worth every penny and delivered great value for the money I spent. Note that they are licensed, insured and bonded for a whole range of services including turn-key clean out of homes, buying entire estates and moving services, as well as the strategic evaluation they did with me.

My MIL was an "enthusiastic collector" of lots of useless stuff which resulted in a daunting clean-out task. Andy arranged to meet us the day after we contacted him and a week after that the entire apartment was cleaned out and left spotlessly clean.
