    Jensen's Handyman & Remodeling

Not just zero stars but negative integers! Where do I start?...In my lifetime, I have never had…read moredealings with anyone more professionally incompetent than Steve at Jensen's Handyman and Remodeling. My family experienced a major flood this past May when our underground sprinkler system broke and sent 2"-3" of water cascading into our finished basement. Our Farmers Insurance claim rep was quick to assess the damage and get payment out to start the process of returning it to normal. I hired Service Master out of Kalispell to perform the water mitigation which was done flawlessly within three days. The guys were friendly and highly skilled. Then Service Master sent out Jensen from Missoula to repair the sheet rock, tape & texture and repaint my walls as well as to re-lay trim. That's when things went to Hell. First off, the guy shows up two weeks late. Then he does stuff like make messes both in the house and in our yard and fails to clean them up himself. It also turned out that he likes to pee with the bathroom door open in a house inhabited by three females, one male and a black lab...(not a problem for the lab or me but the girls were freaked out and warned about going into the basement when he was there...and my wife works from home) Then when he finally does do the work, he didn't even attempt to match the existing orange-peel texture on the sheet rock and then used the wrong paint (didn't know the difference between satin and flat latex). He cut the electrical box openings in the sheet rock too large so that the face plates wouldn't cover the holes and attempted to install a new door of the wrong style that didn't match the interior doors in the rest of the house. When he reinstalled the trim, it was left ¼" - 1/2 " inch above the carpet in areas and when my wife confronted him about it, he told her to "just vacuum real (sic) good around the edges and it will pull the carpet up to meet the trim." We have closed loop Berber carpet... On top of this, it was bewildering to me to have him asking me to measure things, taking inventory of the materials that were to be reused and to clean up after him. When I wasn't pleased with the quality of the work, all I got was excuse making with comments like, "it is impossible to match texture" instead of making sure my concerns were correctly addressed. In the aftermath, Service Master did their best to remediate the problems by sending a young guy named DJ out of Kalispell who redid all the trim, fixed the sheet rock and paint issues and was exceptionally helpful and apologetic. Service Master owner Dale was equally as helpful and concerned and went out of his way to make it right with us. I would use them again in a heartbeat. But Jensen is another story entirely. This guy is the worst. Buyer beware should you choose to hire him. I hate leaving negative anything about anybody but I can't in good conscience not pay it forward to the next poor unsuspecting homeowner considering hiring this guy. Seriously, RUN don't walk away from Jensen's Handyman and Remodeling Services.

I would leave ZERO stars but that not an option…read more We purchased a house that Mr Jensen did handy man work at. I don't know where to start with disgust. Maybe the bathrooms...he shoddily installed tile in the bathrooms. When he reinstalled the toilets he never raised the toilet flanges so as you can guess the smell is nauseating with sewer gas. The toilets were hand tightened to the floor with ZERO caulk around them, which I guess is probably a good thing making it easier for us to get it fixed correctly. Second he painted and rehung the closet rods, well he was inches away from the studs with screws shorter than an inch and it only took 2 days for our closet to end up on the floor. Stud finders work way better than the old knock method. He also doesn't own a level. None of the closets are level. Down stairs it looks like a bow, he was so UNLEVEL he couldn't get the screws to go in so it vibrates. Real classy, a 3-4" drop makes you feel real good about the install. When he installed laminate wood floor in the kitchen and dining room he must not of owned a vacuum or broom because the rocks or other debris are now poking through the flooring. He installed a chandelier in the dining room and finger tighten all the screws and they keep falling off and it's a huge UGLY fixture. The thresholds at the exterior doors have a 1/4" gap under them. Lord only knows what else we'll find in this house. But do your self a favor and never hire him. Warn all your friends and fa
