They used it as their summer residence. Nowadays it is open for everyone. In one part is a nicely equipped playground. Amongst the shaddow of the trees it is nice to lay down & chill if you are just not up in the mood for the far more busy Neckarwiese. The Schlößchen nowadays belongs to the town. Music school, the Bürgerbüro and a health insurance are using the rooms.

It is open in summer only. It is situated towards Gorxheim, surrounded by woods, on a fairly large aerial, with football (soccer) places attached. The Grundelbach, a little brook that flows from Gorxheim through Weinheim, feeds the pools. There are two main pools, one for swimmers, one for non-swimmers, and a little wading pool for tiny tots. Sprawling lawns for sunbathing, volleyball or badminton fields, and a little shop for drinks and snacks complete the scenery. The pools are lined with metal which looks cool even if the water is not (there is a heating system). Unfortunately, the renovations did away with the diving platform and the extra wide slide into the non-swimmers' is not an adequate replacement. Parking right in front is at a premium, but a short walk up into the forest leads to another well-shaded parking lot. As an alternative, the bus stop is right in front.
