After making the trip to 4 Mile Bakery, we wandered next door to Reiter Ridge Candles, and I'm so glad we did! What a hidden gem. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Carolyn, who was one of the friendliest and most welcoming small business owners I've met. She happily answered all of my questions about how she hand-pours her candles, where she gets inspiration for new scents, and what goes into the candle-making process. As a former chef, I always enjoy hearing the passion behind someone's craft, and Carolyn's love for what she does really shines through. The shop is filled with incredible fragrances in all kinds of sizes and unique designs. It was honestly hard to choose a favorite because they all smelled amazing! One of my favorite parts of the visit was seeing that her workshop is connected to a space where her family can be close while she works. We even got to meet her adorable family, and her sons proudly told us they're the "official sniffers" who approve her new scents before they make it to the shelves. That personal touch made the experience even more special. If you're in Jackson--or making the trip for the famous baked goods next door at 4 Mile Bakery--do yourself a favor and stop into Reiter Ridge Candles. Stopped here today after visiting 4 mile bakery next door. What an adorable candle shop with the nicest lady who owns it. She was super friendly and welcoming. She has every scent you can think of in a wax melt and in candles. I highly recommend stopping here to get yourself some great candles or wax melts and some great gifts for family and friends.
