We lost our house in the Thomas fire and had a somewhat rushed deadline to rebuild. We met with…read morefive different architects and for one reason or another we didn't find the right fit. We had a napkin sketch that had the rough shape of what we were hoping for, but every designer wanted to build what was in their repertoire. Then we met Andrew Goodwin. He looked at our references and considered our very basic sketch. He came back after a week with the answer. He took our rough gesture and completely reimagined it into 20' x 20 ' volumes to keep construction costs within grasp. The plans showed a simple and clean, modern expression that was sensitive to our unique topography.
