In a panic we searched for photogs, fearing we wouldn't find one available due to the popular date of our wedding (10/10/10). Luckily we found SETH KAYE PHOTOGRAPHY in western MA. www.sethkaye.com Seth has a photojournalist background, so his style is more about documenting the day then posing people like puppets and making them smile unnaturally. He cares about the story of the day, which was exactly what we wanted. He and his partner photog were friendly/personable, put us at ease (particularly me), and blended in. Talking about him afterward, our Maid of Honor said -- "There was a photographer? I never saw him." That's how stealth he was. My wife and I had heard horror stories about couples having trouble with their photogs AFTER the wedding in terms of paying extra to get photo copyrights. My groomsman's photog at his own wedding practically held the pics for ransom. Not Seth. His prices are affordable, he's not greedy, and copyrights were never an issue. I swear he's not paying me to sing his praises, but oftentimes we ("we" meaning people in general) are more eager to complain about bad service as opposed to praising good service (hence why it's taken me so long to write this -- I was too busy complaining about our low-quality DJ). Seth loves his job and it shows. If you're getting married in MA and looking for a quality photog, I highly recommend Seth.

Enter Seth. I knew after our first meeting that I wanted to work with Seth. He is warm, easy going, incredibly professional and responsive, fun, and amazing at what he does. Seth caught so many amazing and candid moments on our wedding day and the pictures truly tell the story of the day. Honestly, I think he must be part ninja because he got so many amazing shots and I barely noticed him at all. He even did our getting ready shots and somehow managed to fade into the background while secretly documenting everything. His pictures are beyond gorgeous -- check out his portfolio for yourself -- but he is also open to the direction that you provide in making sure that his style reflects your own. Not only is Ryan a great artist, since you can see that clearly online, but something less tangible to note is that he is great at understanding the different people included in your wedding and ensuring that everyone can work well together to get the shot. For our wedding, he worked with Leslie (a second shooter), who provided a strong balancing presence to ensure all stayed on track. The two of them together worked magic with our (not always easy) family and took some breathtaking photos. On the day we were overwhelmed, exhausted, and intermittently assaulted by mosquitos but Ryan and Leslie worked professionally and swiftly to ensure we didn't get bitten to shreds and the photos they somehow pulled together are incredible. You would never guess that we were anything other than blissfully happy, and seeing that joy in the images captured of our day really helps us remember how wonderful it all was (even if the day was also a whirlwind). When we met with the photographer Ryan for the first time, we knew instantly that we wanted to work with him just by the way he talked about his joy for his work. On top of his amazing personality he does incredible work, and his wedding packages were perfect for what we were looking for. This past weekend we had the chance to work with him on our engagement session which was included in our wedding package. When we met with Ryan we gave him a few ideas and he ran with them (in a good way). He took time with us throughout the afternoon and he made sure to capture the special moments between my partner and I. When he sent us a few of the photos before finishing his editing, we were blown away by his incredible skills and attention to detail. Overall, we are really excited and blessed to have chosen Ryan.
