I'm starting my second month and still working on techniques & Carmen guides me with patience and I just keep going. Carmen has great music, instruction & makes it fun. People of all ages & builds are here which makes me feel comfortable. Thank you all who helped me start this new fitness experience. I enjoy coming here. Ruth was so helpful getting me set up before my first class and got me signed up quickly! Cheers to Title Boxing! To those thinking about this - JUST DO IT!

I have never boxed before, but I've lifted weights for many years now. The instructions in the email told me to arrive 30 minutes prior so they can help me put hand wraps on and show me the boxing basics since I am a first-timer. Ruth was the first one I met and she was so chill and kind and a great teacher when teaching me the 6 basic punches. Then Anne came! She was the instructor for the class and was very hyped and motivated and encouraged everyone. She also gave me tips on how to improve my form and what to avoid doing and why. I really liked how thorough her explanations were. Her class had me SWEATING and i loved every second of it. I love pushing my body and being active and this class does exactly that. I also met Blake the owner of the place too and he was very kind! Overall I really enjoyed how welcoming the boxing club was and i look forward for many more classes with them!!

Zen Martial Arts was…read morerecommended to me by a couple local moms when I reached out about suggestions to help my 5 year old daughter's self-confidence issues, and it has been working wonders for her. Sensei Oliver and his team went above and beyond to boost her confidence and fill their students with inspiration and encouragement. They know exactly what to say to make kids feel comfortable, safe, and encouraged, while also having them try their best and follow the dojo rules without making them feel ashamed for messing up. The community they have created there is wonderful, and we're so glad to be a part of it. Thank you, Sensei Oliver, for making my girl feel so good about herself, and for going above and beyond to do so. If you're considering where to have your child (or you!) take some karate lessons, look no further than Zen!

Sensei Oliver is a great instructor, going step by step, we practice with other classmates and then with him so you get a more realistic sense. Not only does sensei Oliver teach self defense, he also talks about what predators are looking for and how to present yourself so not to be a weak target. Studio - awesome space, good lighting, plenty of street parking nearby I highly recommend the program.

I saw a 10 day set on groupon and swooped it up. Gil is the owner and he is a former boxer himself. This is his gym. It's a down to earth gym but a lot of the times as an adult you get 2:1 or 4:1 time with Gil for the training session. He also works with you if you're feeling weaker. There's a good combination of pushing you and knowing where your limits are. He makes sure I am conditioning my arms with other exercises like the row machine, bench press and more since my arms a little bit weaker. But I rock the jump ropes! Haha. They also have free gloves to wear... of course they are a little bit sweaty from prior use, but then again would you really want to box at a fancy gym? No! You want the grit and you want to realness of this gym.

Not only is Northern Shou Shu the most comprehensive and effective martial art around, every single person there treats you like family. The studio has seen me through recovery from a triple fusion in my cervical (neck) area, never pushing me beyond the point of safety. I never have to hide who I am or what I'm going through when I walk through those doors. The people who I now refer to as my brothers and sisters have helped me immensely...like the times I lost both of my parents. When I didn't know what to do with myself during intense grieving periods, I went into the studio. They helped me channel my grief into my art and it was a place of great refuge, healing and amazing productivity. There were times when I had tears in my eyes, but nobody made me feel weird about it, they are all Uber accepting and empathetic - not to mention incredibly skilled. I recently earned my brown belt and now my eyes are pointed toward my black belt. I have every faith that under the patient, skilled guidance and rock-solid leadership at Red Dragon Martial Arts my instructors will take me there!
