Specialties

Get great, healthy food at our public summer farmstand, at our winter farmstore, or through our CSA membership program. We follow, and have for many years followed, organic growing practices. We believe a healthy soil produces healthy animals and people. We select our vegetables for flavor and nutrient content rather than for machine harvesting and long shipment. Complementing the vegetables and flowers are pastured chickens, ducks, and pigs. The poultry and pigs use less prime land, keep pests down, and provide us with great entertainment. Our animals are not fed junk food. They are fed certified organic feed, supplemented with plants and insects that they find and our "seconds" vegetables. Our free-range, pastured hens are fed certified organic, non-GMO, feed, producing wonderful dark brown eggs. Eggs are available for purchase at the farmstand/farmstore and also through our Support a Hen CSA, providing eggs at a discount year-round. We open our public summer farmstand in May When we outgrow the farmstore with fesh growth. The summer farmstand stays open through October, when we move inside to the winter farmstore. Our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) membership program runs from June through October with vegetable, meat, eggs, and flower options.

History

Established in 2004.

We began as a family homestead in 2002, expanding to a farm business in 2004. We offered the CSA membership program beginning in 2004, taking our extras to a farmers market. As our membership program has expanded, and we needed more time at the farm, we built a small farmstand to give us a market for our extras but keep us on the farm more. We started primarily with fresh eggs and meat chicken, with a few vegetables and cut flowers. We have expanded our market garden (acquiring additional adjacent land) so we now offer a wide variety of garden fresh vegetables and beautiful cut flowers.

Meet the Business Owner: Beth S.

Beth is a long-time organic gardener. She knew when she was 6 years old that she wanted to be a farmer. It took many years but she loves farming. When they married, Tony said "no animals", but when he started tying flies he wanted chickens. It grew from there, and he takes a major role in the livestock end of the farm.
