Columbia's very own co-working space…read more If your not familiar with how they work, basically you pay a monthly fee for access to the office and amenities. SOCO has two spots in Columbia, one in the Vista and one in the Bull Street District. I prefer Bull Street because parking there is free, and most seem to want to work in the Vista location so the Bull Street one is more quiet while the Vista is better for more social driven interaction. The staff at SOCO are super cool and friendly, other business people there rule, and the community events are pretty cool. Rules are totally flexible, meeting rooms rock, free awesome coffee and beer everyday and much more. If you want a spot to work every once or even if your looking for private offices SOCO has you covered.

In love with this coworking space!…read more While traveling for work, I often play the coffeeshop hop which can get exhausting. You can only have so many coffees and teas in one day. Not to mention the never ending search for an open outlet to keep the laptop charged. For only $20, I got a day pass to SOCO and would return in a heartbeat the next time I'm in Columbia. The entrance is a bit hidden on a side street of Gervais. From there, it's on the second floor. The wood floors, brick walls, dim lighting, and open feel create a really nice atmosphere for getting work done. There is a kitchen area, couch, and a variety of desks (including a standing one!) to hang out around. For conferences, they do have private rooms that are normally just for members to use. And yes, there are more outlets than one could ever need. Members have 24 hours access and gain entry with a fob, while the main doors close at 5:00 pm to visitors. Thanks SOCO for letting me crash for a couple of days. I'll definitely be back!

My experience with the service itself was unremarkable, but the renewal and billing practices are what I want other small business owners to know about. In November 2025, I received an email described as a courtesy reminder informing me that my agreement would automatically renew for six months beginning in March 2026. I had 21 days to opt out. The renewed rate was $134.20 per month, a 36.6% increase over my original rate of $98.25. That price increase was embedded inside the renewal notice with no separate disclosure or request for consent. I missed the opt-out window because, frankly, what small business owner is reviewing their March contracts in November? When I disputed the renewal, every substantive argument I raised was met with a restatement of Regus's contractual position rather than an actual response. I raised the inadequacy of the notice window, the undisclosed rate increase, and applicable consumer protection law. None of it was addressed on the merits. Seven distinct points, zero substantive replies. Additionally, my husband witnessed a staff member sleeping at the office during business hours. Eventually, after I filed a complaint on another platform, Regus offered to shorten the renewal term, but conditioned that offer on my removing the negative review first. I will leave readers to draw their own conclusions about a company that ties contract relief to review suppression. If you are a small business considering Regus for a virtual office, read every line of the auto-renewal terms and calendar the opt-out deadline immediately. Do not assume a courtesy email is just a courtesy. It may be the only notice standing between you and a six-month obligation at a significantly higher rate.
