Century CU has ALWAYS been there for us. My wife has been a member at their credit union for years,…read moreand after 2 or 3 years of membership there and doing no other business with them, we needed to refinance a car loan. Our credit was... atrocious. Somehow they got us approved for a BETTER interest rate than the dealership loan we already had, basing our credit worthiness more on our good history of a positive account balance and regular deposits than anything else... a national bank typically won't do that. Josh, our loan officer, was completely sympathetic about my hatred for the telephone and our busy schedules and, after confirming our identities for certain to avoid ID theft or fraud, completed the entire exchange via email! We had the loan refinanced in a couple of days flat! Later, we were looking at getting a new car, but I wanted to improve my credit before we did. He was able to get me a credit card with a VERY reasonable rate, again, in 48 hours via email only, with a line of credit double that of any of my other two cards, as well as offering a great balance transfer deal... Even though the only two cards I'd ever been approved for were those horrific, high interest, "buying a credit score and paying interest on it even if you DON'T charge anything"-type cards! Unreal! A month or two later we went to purchase the car. He was able to offer us budget planning services (he's certified to do so, just as probably a number of their loan specialists are) and got our loan turned around in no time so we were able to just go shopping with the money instead of falling in love with a car and being held hostage at the dealership and forced into a terrible loan... like we did when we bought our first car, not realizing back then that we could just trust our friendly neighborhood banker to take care of things for us! These people are EVERYTHING your national bank CAN'T be, and in spite of the stereotype inconvenience of credit unions, Century finds ways to make it WELL worth skipping over big banks and even larger credit unions. If you want an unbelievable commitment to YOUR financial goals... rather than just THEIRS... Century CU is the place FOR you!

Well, they were as helpful and patient as could be, in spite of my knowledge lack, and also protecting my mother's confidentiality. They didn't personally remember her, and definitely didn't know me, but they did what they could to help. In the end, it all got worked out.

We were having great difficulty in finding a bank to work with for processing our SBA Paycheck…read moreProtection Program loan. Three other institutions had let us down and had failed to assist us in our application. We were fortunate to get a referral to Saint Louis Bank. They acted efficiently and professionally to help us receive our financing. I am very grateful for their assistance. They have helped us in our attempt to insure the survival of our 61 year-old family business. I can't say enough good things about this bank and their loan team.

Don't bother with this bank. I walked in the door with $1000 in my pocket and a new LLC business…read morelicense that I had just started. My goal was to open an account to get a feel for the bank, and since it was close to my home, eventually use it for my new business. After I walked in the lobby, I was directed to a someone to open a new account. "Good afternoon. Do you have a few minutes to help me", I said. She did not even acknowledge me or my greeting. I handed over my drivers license, because I was pretty sure that was what was next. I was asked what my occupation was. "Do you really need that". It was an honest question, since I was just laid off. "Yes". "Ok, unemployed". "How did you hear about us", I was asked. "Well, I have a potential client, an they ask that I transact in Zelle. I saw your bank does that." She said "Well, any bank can do that". I used to work in the financial industry, and I didn't think that was true, but I could be mistaken (acutally, she was wrong). Did it matter, though? I was told "We are pretty much for business customers". I do not have thin skin, but I cannot remember being so insulted since I was probably in college. I took back my divers license, and said, "I do not think that this will be worth the hassle" Not a parting word was said to me. Thanks, St. Louis Bank for making me feeling think like 3rd class citizen. You will never get my business. jf
