Ike I. ran this business for many years, then retired and sold the business to Dakhil. Dakhil is…read moreincompetent and a crook. He botched the filing of my tax returns, causing me to be charged thousands of dollars in penalty and interest. This happened because of an error made by Dakhil in the way that he filed my tax returns. His error caused me to be charged thousands of dollars in penalty and interest. Any respectable accountant who makes a mistake like that will take responsibility for it. This crook refused to take any responsibility. I'm updating my review to respond to a lie told by Dakhil, specifically that my tax return was "dropped off". This is a lie. I have 2 letters from Dakhil, both dated March 4, 2022. In one letter he says that he is electronically filing my tax return with the IRS, and in the other letter he says that he is electronically filing my tax return with the FTB. I paid Dakhil to prepare and electronically file my tax returns and he botched the filing of the returns. Because of his incompetence I was charged thousands of dollars in penalty and interest. In conclusion, Dakhil is incompetent, a crook, and a liar. Obviously you don't want to do business with this crook.

Do not open a retirement account with Benedetti & Associates…read more Over a full decade, my Roth IRA account yielded an abysmal annual return of under 4%. For context, even the most conservative retirement portfolios averaged 6-8% annually during the same period. More aggressive Roth IRA strategies returned around 12-13%. And the U.S. stock market has averaged about 10% annually over the last 30 years--meaning this firm underperformed even the most basic, passive investment benchmarks. To make matters worse, I paid a 1% annual management fee, adding insult to injury. I essentially paid for underperformance. Even more painful: this decade of poor returns covered the prime investing years of my life--ages 25 to 35--when time and compounding matter most. They didn't just underperform; they did lasting damage to my long-term financial growth. I cannot recommend Trent Benedetti Associates to anyone looking for competent, growth-oriented investment guidance. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

This last year he didn't even give me my taxes until the day before the deadline to pay even though I had been emailing and admin about them. When I told him I had questions and I didn't want them filed a certain way he told me it was too late and I would have to pay anyways, even if I wanted to file an extension. Now I'm out $12,000 because he filed the wrong way and refuses to correct them. He either won't respond to emails or give nothing but excuses.
