Service was a little slow when I went in but for more home style cooking I would say it's acceptable. They were polite. The food was good aswell. My only issue was the Mac and cheese quality of pasta used. It looked and felt like the kraft Mac and cheese pasta but seasoned in G&G's way. You get quite a bit of food aswell. As you walk in great to be welcomed by what looks like a place where the locals meaning college crowd hang out. Dropped with sports and college memorabilia, well used tables and chairs, we were properly greeted by a young college student. Quickly shown to our tables we were welcomed by our waitress. She was very friendly and helpful in highlighting some of the better dishes. So we ordered the gator appetizer which was lightly breaded and tasted very fresh, served with a side of remoulade dipping sauce. Then we had a bowl of seafood gumbo and the red beans and rice with have a hot link. Both dishes were very flavorful and I would definitely recommend them. The only negative is that they were both a little on the salty side for our liking. Oh and my wife had hoped for more okra in the gumbo. But yes I would definitely recommend this place and it was great to see a diverse crown from young kids to the elderly in what looked like a college bar environment.

The entrees were very tasty, and I recommend adding a little of the Coosh's seasoning on your fries and other dishes if you like an extra shot of flavor. The gator was cooked well, the shrimp were plump, and the jambalaya pasta was a delightful choice as well. Portions were huge, and I'm glad the wife and I split an entree. Despite not being able to finish our entrees, we got 2 desserts to split amongst the 4 of us - carrot cake and Oreo cheesecake, and both provided enough of a sugar rush to get us home... then cause us to crash. I qualify this observation by telling you that I actively seek out tamales in my travels across the country, and I also need you to understand I wasn't expecting to have my mind blown away by a random restaurant far away from where tamales come from. The Guatemalan version of this dish is by far my favorite, and the chef's craftsmanship is evident in every bite. The masa, the filling, and the interplay of both the mouth-feel and flavors make this a dish that I will repeatedly return for. Everything my group had this evening was top-notch, actually (the stew, the birria tacos, and the carne asada tacos). If all of those dishes were rated as "A", then the tamales would have earned an "A++++" in comparison. The ambiance and service here are both homey, genuine, and comforting.
