2024. Week of 9/16-9/20 Fall Escape. This was not my best experience and I have been a repeat customer for several years. I'm teetering on a 2-3 star review. The staff is excellent and the management seemed to take my complaints seriously and offered to rectify my complaints which I do appreciate. Most businesses don't really care today. The rooms are well maintained for the most part but this visit was poor compared to other years. My screen had holes in it. Not the end of the world and I didn't even mention it until the end of my stay. Add that to a faulty fire alarm waking us all up Monday morning at 4:30 AM and according to the cop on the scene this has been an ongoing issue. Mgmt did explain to me they changed alarm companies- yet all the guests paid the price. Even more disturbing to me is that only about 10 people evacuated the premises. (Not the hotel's fault) I'm just sadly surprised that very few take their own personal safety seriously. In the on-site cafe there are residential portable air conditioning units being used because the cafe central air conditioning system is dysfunctional- plus I noticed burned out lights in the cafe. Another guest was complaining about the ice machine that was broken for several days. The cafe is run by a different group but the Reges has their name on it. They need to be more careful leasing that space. The quality of food in the cafe is slipping exponentially. My husband ordered a broccoli cheese omelette and was unable to detect either ingredient. The potatoes he got daily were cold. He requested onions and was told they don't have onions for potatoes. My first day I ordered eggs over easy and they were very mucous-like and raw- I couldn't eat them-I wasn't hungry any way. We tend to be forgiving about these things bcs it's an included perk. Ever hear that expression? "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". Service at the cafe is severely declining. The server who took care of us for a few meals was a younger girl with dark hair and was absolutely miserable working there. She clearly hated her job. Our final day we endured an older overly tanned tall skinny blond "ish" server who has absolutely no business being in the service industry. She was extremely rude, impatient, seemed very annoyed we were there and kept ignoring my mom trying to order to go food- literally running away from our table- "I'm very busy". So you have ONE table at 7:30 AM and you are too busy to help a customer?! That's your ONLY JOB! She brought our juice to the table and we said "Thank You", she took our order to which we said "thank you"- -NO RESPONSE- no "you're welcome"- nothing but nasty attitude! I don't need this crap on my vacation. If you read my reviews you know I've been a server for decades-so I am more understanding than anyone- I put up with a lot more crap than I should- but I simply will not tolerate rudeness. This was the second time in my life I did not tip a waitress due to rudeness and I'm 56!! That's saying something. Additionally the beach was laden with trash. That is not the hotels fault- in good conscience I can no longer recommend my friends visiting here. The hotel called public works to rectify this. That's all well and good but too little too late for me with everything else. In the past, I had brought in a considerable amount of business to The Reges. My mom's friends, her sisters and their significant others, my good friend and her family visited numerous times, I had also brought my daughter and grand daughter last year. The Reges management offered to do something for me and they genuinely wanted me to give them a second try. I'm not looking for a free trip- I just wanted to be heard. Management heard me and responded to my message quickly and that's the only reason I am going with the 3rd star in my review. The Reges honored my wish to cxl my 2025 reservations and refund my entire deposit, (without a penalty of 25%) as that was my request. At this time I have no plans to return to The Reges. I have only a finite number of vacation days and the trip for me is nearly 3 1/2 hours to get to The Reges. I just can't chance another bad experience. Maybe someday I will feel differently. read more

This place has resort in its name but I would not call it that. It's Oceanside which is very convenient and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It's is a beach tourist town and pretty much every hotel / motel in the area had resort in its name so I would hold that against them. You will have all your basic need here and the rooms were clean. They have a grill on site that operates for breakfast and lunch and also have a heated pool and jacuzzi. The place looks like a 60's movie from the outside. The walls in the rooms are paper thin so you hear everything that is going on in the other rooms. I can't really say anything bad about the place but I would keep your expectations lower so you won't be disappointed. It is an Oceanside hotel/motel and not a resort in the traditional sense that most would expect. read more

I wanted to take time to update my review since it was a couple of years ago. Since then we have returned to Reges for what has become an annual getaway. Is it possible to be even more thrilled with the same experience 2nd, 3rd, etc time? The Reges does not disappoint! By Reges I not only mean the actual accommodations but the staff as well. The pride of ownership is evident throughout the building in its upkeep & care. The staff is also pleasant. Housekeeping fulfills your needs without hovering (we sleep in late). The front desk ladies are so friendly & helpful. We always go for the fabulous, off season packages (accommodations & meals) they offer every year. Our 1st evening we use their meal vouchers for our favorite restaurant. Upon checking in, we found that restaurant is no longer participating! We were quite disappointed & mentioned it. Well the woman at the front desk (so sorry don't recall her name) not only made a substitute recommendation but gave us the whole background on new restaurant owners & the movement of chefs to different establishments. Needless to say, we now have a new favorite with a former beloved chef! The Reges maintains its charm of years of old with modern conveniences. Big improvement we noticed this last visit (June 2021) was brand new sliding doors on the balconies & new bathroom lighting. How these owners keep investing in their property & keep its unique charm is wonderful in these days of cookie cutter hotels. Lastly, if you need some retail therapy on your trip, don't overlook the Reges' "boutique." I buy at least one item ever time we stay. This time the woman who rang me up was actually one of the buyers for the Reges' boutique. I complimented her on the selection. They have limited space in the lobby but pack it with fun, unique items. In addition, the pricing is reasonable unlike many of the Cape May boutiques. So don't overlook the retail opportunity before you leave! Reges has become a home away from home for us with out a doubt. Every time we come to Wildwood Crest, we stay at the Reges. The rooms are cheerful, super clean and overlook the ocean, beach & pool. You cannot get a bad view! The front desk and all staff provide better than expected customer service & are super friendly. I feel like we definitely get our moneys worth when we stay here! Our family came back to The Reges where we started on the Jersey shore 35 yrs ago.It was awesome.Clean,alot of chairs by the pool,covered cabana on top deckwhich was awesome as my husband and I need to get out of the sun,hot tub,very family oriented.Restaurant staff was very accomodating staff was friendly-front desk,maid,maintenance.Maria our room person was awesome.I grew up where you said hi to someone and they responded.Found it here and loved it.This seemed to me like a well oiled machine who know their clientelle.Do you get some disagreeable parties.Yes you do can they control them.Don't think so.Overall an awesome experience and cann't wait to go back.Thank you!!!! read more

Reges hotel is a great and magnificent hotel! When your up high near the highest floor, it is a great view on the ocean. The pool was great and everything else was the same! I recommend this hotel a lot if you're trying to find an outstanding and non-shabby hotel. read more

I want to give this place more stars....first of all the receptionists were great, the rooms while older were kept clean. The rooms overlook the pool and beach and the location to Cape May was great. While this was my first time here, last year 3 family members booked 3 different rooms. This year we had 2 different accommodations. My niece comes once a year to commemorate her late son's birthday since they took him to the shore each year on his birthday. The problem was the manager. On the anniversary of my great nephew's birthday, some guests left there belongs on 2 lounges on the upper deck for 3 hours. My 2 grandnieces and their friend bought pizzas. So my niece moved the belongings over to the other longe since it had been drizzling and the longes were covered. They took a few chairs and gathered around my niece. Then the people showed up and started cursing my niece. One of my grandnieces called the manager who did nothing but laugh. When we told reception what happened, they told us guests cannot hold longes for that long. The manager came over and never apologized for his inaction. He just let the fighting continue. We were so upset, we left without having a chance to finish our lunch. These people who didn't use the longes for 3 hours, couldn't give another family time to finish a pizza?? Thankfully another family that was there backed us up. But the manager ignored them read more

We have returned to our favorite spot on the Jersey Shore! This hotel is a class act! The front staff are impeccable! The hotel is managed perfectly. From the pool attendant to the hotel manger, they all care about one thing .... the guest! The cafe is open to sit in this year and they continue to provide a great service. This is a clean motel with a lovely oceanfront view. Beautiful pool and jacuzzi. Down side is that management does not deal with unruly patrons. Mostly a family clientele- however one or two loud mouthed individuals act like they own the place - taking loungers and tables for hours without ever using them - just a towel to reserve. We moved a couple random towels to sit and have lunch - I was verbally abused by a man and his wife for moving the towels until my niece sought help from the management. Help came in the form of laughter and snickers - good old boys club I guess. Loungers sitting unused for three hours. People are so rude and threatening. Very poor handling by management. I should have called the police when this man cursed and yelled - towering over me and my young nieces. What a shame. read more

It's not always expected but definitely appreciated when you're able to check in early. This hotel was unable to help out at all. That's not the biggest issue though. The pool was shut down for hours. they closed it immediately and we were unable to use all day. We were only there for two nights and we had a tournament so the second day my kids couldn't use the pool. I called Tom the manager and he said because the pool being shut down was out of their control they couldn't help us out with anything. I asked simply for an extension on my stay for two hours or some money reimbursement and they said they could do nothing for me. It's not appreciated when customer service is unable to comp for issues occurring during your stay. The pool being closed is a major disappointment when you have kids expecting that and you're spending $400 a night. Out of your control or not you can control making things right considering I've already paid for this room if I didn't I would've left read more

Had a beautiful few days at Reges. A very comfortable place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and a beautiful view of the ocean from the balcony. The pool had a separate one foot section for my toddler to play in. The beach was steps away from the hotel. Will be staying here again! read more

My husband and I chose the Reges to spend our 27th wedding anniversary. We took advantage of the harvest weekend package and couldn't be happier. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our suite had everything you need. The package included diner for 2 and we chose Carinis as our restaurant and were very pleased with our delicious meal. Breakfast each day was delicious and so nice to not have to leave the hotel. On our second day there our car broke down and we were without a car. They allowed us to add an additional day to our stay even though the day we would check out was the last day of the season. They were also very compassionate to our stressful situation. Look forward to going back and staying at the Reges and to see more than the mile area around the hotel. read more

The Reges is on the southern end of Wildwood Crest, right by Diamond Beach. This hotel is consistent, with friendly service, a nice sized clean pool, oceanfront balconies, and several room types on its eight floors. He staff is accommodating and pleasant - from the desk staff to the housekeepers. It's a family owned property and they actually care a great deal about how their guests are treated. The cafe is homey and inviting, and reasonably priced for the area. The management of the cafe is polite and always looking to improve their guests experience. With most hotels in Wildwood competing for business, it's hard to find a consistent place to stay that will be quiet, comfortable and worth the $$ - this property is one in that category. Features: Free WiFi on site (although the connection can be spotty in places), safes in all the rooms, good sized ocean front balconies in all rooms, pool / hot tub with deck including grills, cafe on ground floor, ATM, children's activities. read more

We have stayed here three years in a row and the Reges is an absolute pleasure. This is a family-oriented hotel with wonderfully upgraded rooms, excellent wifi with great bandwidth, and a generously sized pool. The current amenities are a considerable improvement from the past and the front desk could not have been more helpful or pleasant. The view from every room is beautiful and pleasant. My family has stayed in MANY hotels in Wildwood Crest....only the Reges gives a complete package of comfort, view and proximity to the beach. I STRONGLY recommend the Reges....especially if you have a family of four or greater. Your family will not be disappointed! read more

A really nice place right on the ocean. It can't be beat. Our room had a great view of the ocean - I think they all do because of the way the hotel is facing. As soon as we got into the room and looked out the window i could feel relaxation pouring down on me. Something about the serenity of the ocean and the gentle crashing of waves i guess. So we slipped into our suits and 30 seconds later we were walking in the softest, finest sand you're going to find anywhere. Forget the short beaches of FL or the left coast or the overcrowded LI beaches or the gravel pits they call beaches in New England. This is a beach...just awesome. I'm not much of a pool guy but the pool was really nice. It was a bit windy one day and looked like rain but i was on vacation and was not about to stay indoors so i sat by the pool with a number of other like-minded souls and enjoyed myself. The warm pool was really nice on that cool day. There's also a hot tub but i didnt try it out. I like hot tubs in the middle of winter - don't understand the attraction in the summer but everyone seemed to be enjoying it. The owners must be doing something right because when the skies did open up, all the beach lifeguards came up to hang out around the Reges. Another perk of staying here is the Reges Cafe - maybe that's why the lifeguards came up? - which has really good food that's cheaper and better than any diner you're going to find in the area. Try the greek salad with the grilled chicken. It was excellent! The breakfasts were also really good! The hotel is clean, the staff were all nice. They have activities for the kids. There was a DJ by the pool one of the days we were there. Just a real happy place. I didnt want to leave - we'll be back. read more

We stayed at this resort hotel the weekend of the Car Show in 2015. It was a great view of the ocean. The room was clean and very comfortable. Check in was efficient as well as check out. The only downfall was the wind. When you open the front door, you had better have the back sliding door shut or there was a wind tunnel and everything blew! read more

I'm feeling generous, so 2 stars. Pros: carport, beach front, pool, hot tub, decor WIth that said, this "Resort" is the epitome for the saying "looks can be deceiving." Nothing about this hotel is resort like. Under the matching bedspread we found stained sheets and the most uncomfortable mattresses I've ever encountered, ever. The amenities are lacking, sure they have a coffee maker, but you have to bring your own coffee or pay 2$ for it in the gift shop. No shampoo or conditioner, which is also available in the gift shop. If you like to watch TV before bed, you might be disappointed, as the cable is well... minimal. The bathrooms in the room leave something to be desired, mainly space since there is less area than a stall in TGIFridays (which is very narrow to say the least). The service here is also lacking, and a bit cranky. Overall, I'd say take your money elsewhere as paying their summer rates would leave you feeling quite sore. read more

Great location. It's oceanfront and in a quieter area, so much better than noisy Wildwood. I think all rooms have ocean views, so there's no worrying about that. Our room was clean and comfortable, certainly better than most beachfront hotels in which I've stayed. Plenty of room too; we had two queen beds in one room and one pullout couch in the other room with the kitchen and balcony. The restaurant was nothing special, but decent. read more

We come to wildwood crest every year for the past 10 years. This time most hotels were booked so we ended up booking this for mothers day weekend. The pics on their site are so nice, then you get a room that isn't nearly as nice. The rooms overlook the pool so there's minimal privacy. When we did go to bed my daughter and I got bites on our bodies and woke up itching. We asked to change rooms but there was nothing else available, so we moved to the very lumpy pull out couch and again woke up with new bites, worse this time. We informed the hotel manager and they called back and said there was no evidence of pets being in the room. So what was biting us? We stopped to do laundry before getting home and had our luggage stored in a garage just in case they were bedbugs. I will never again stay here. They did nothing to help and after complaining did nothing to amend our crappy stay. Our families will go back to staying at the Icona from now on. They just lost about 5 rooms being booked a year. read more

Beware of encountering real life events prior to staying at this hotel!! My family had an emergency TWO WEEKS in advance of our reservation and quickly cancelled our stay. Little did we know we were TWO HOURS late of the deadline for canceling and were charged $265.88 PLUS 30% of our original stay reservations. After contacting the hotel AND Hotels.com directly no one was able to assist me with my refund/cancellation, although the money was quickly deducted from my bank account. I would not recommend this hotel or use of hotels.com for booking any vacations. BEWARE BEFORE BOOKING!!!! read more

We went in the off-season because the high season is so, so expensive. It's not swanky, it's not avant-garde, and I think I'd be more comfortable in a Hampton Inn, but this is Wildwood and you have to be realistic. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub and we enjoyed sitting out on the beach, collecting shells, and feeding the seagulls. We had fun drinking in the room and goofing around, and we went out and had some fun. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but as 5 broke kids fresh out of college, it made us happy. Not to mention that as we must have accidentally brought in half the beach with us, and the guys dragged the extra blankets out to use on the beach even though I'm pretty sure there was a sign that said not to...we got our money's worth. read more

Just got home from a weekend at the Reges, and it was exactly what I'd hoped for -- friendly, personable, responsive staff (I think it's family-owned), clean, comfortable, ocean-view room, lovely pool/hot tub area, convenient restaurant with walk up window for beach treats, and I couldn't get any closer to the beach and boardwalk attractions. I'll definitely be returning for a longer vacation stay, it was perfect. read more

This hotel was very clean at first, however I asked for extra sheets for my pull out couch and as I was putting the sheets on I discovered there was a dead bug ironed into the sheets. I could tell it was there for quite sometime because it was stuck onto the sheet and flattened out. Besides the dead bug in the sheet everything was decently clean. The hotels restaurant is pretty good and reasonable. This is an ocean front resort, but it is quite a walk to actually get to the ocean. read more

The Reges is a beautiful hotel right on the ocean with a magnificent view. The rooms are very clean and well maintained with comfortable beds. The staff is truly friendly and extremely prompt in fixing a problem. The drain on our sink was just a little sluggish and Roger, from maintenance, was excellent. He came quickly, fixed it and the drain is running like new. We have been coming here for years and love it each time we return. read more

We stayed here Mother's Day weekend 2015. It was a clean and quiet waterfront suite on the sixth floor. Housekeeping was great and the front desk/gift shop staff were friendly and polite. I loved our breakfast at their own Reges Cafe, where WENDY, our server twice, delivered exceptional customer service and awesome food. I loved our french toast and my daughter's favorites were the chocolate chip cookies. I can't wait to go back! read more

You will get an ocean view room and you will pay for it. Beds are very uncomfortable, even my 6yo says so!

This "resort" unfortunately did not meet my expectations at all. The room that we got last summer was one of the most expensive ones and it was terrible. The lay out made no sense. The front door was in the bedroom and we woke up multiple times as night because our room was next to the elevator and door to the outside. All we heard all night was slamming doors. The kitchen and bathroom was laughable as well. The one positive is that it is right on the beach and the pool is fantastic. They had live bands outside during the day that played great music. My husband and I really enjoyed the pool and music. All in all I would say I would never stay here again. We spent almost 3k for 6 nights. Totally not worth it in my opinion. read more

I love if here ..wildwood in General has rather old hotels but this one is a step nicer then the rest. Check in staff is very friendly and cares about your stay. I have been coming here for many years. It is only 3 miles from the boardwalk. Rooms have a older feel but they maintain them (could use a renovation soon though). Rooms on the higher floors seem to be nicer and of course better views. Overall, the hotel is steps away from the beach with a snack bar by the pool and a cute dinner on the lobby floor to have breakfast/lunch. Great place for families and couples. I would recommend this hotel. read more
