In Montgomery County they operate most of the Abilities Ride MetroAccess cars. At first they often did not show up. Now they show up quite early to the point other customers get angry it is not their pick up window. The drivers tend to be curteous but stressed from poor dispatching. They run a discount program but with service unreliable just going to use Uber or Lyft. Wish they had a tracking app like other jurisdictions. This winter I was out in the cold icy snow for half an hour waiting for a cab that was late. MetroAccess could not send me an Uber as they did before since it was my first ride of the day. read more

Regency is the best company serving Montgomery County, for various reasons, First, they are fast and convinent, whenever I really needed a taxi for some kind of doctors appointment, emergency, lateness, tradyness, and etc, Regency is always there for a taxi company, since I can not take the bus . Second, I do not have to wait a very long time, for a taxi, with some companies, serving Montgomery County, it takes too long to wait for a taxi, especially doing the summer, since there are less taxis available, for call n ride card users. Next, Regency taxis takes me anything, and always accept call n ride card, I do not have a credit card, hard cash, and etc, I always use call n ride card, since I have the discount, no call n ride card, no taxi, because I have to swipe my card at the beginning of the trip, and pay the tip at the end of the trip, usually an 15 to 20 percent tip is enough for all call n ride card holders, but I must stay that word to their dispatcher team every time, Finally, there are a ton of cars, in their fleet, I do not need an wheelchair accessible taxi all the time, since I am not on wheelchair only a car is enough, since it saves on time, money , and gas. read more

if I could rate this company a zero I would!!!! I began calling for a cab ride home from the hospital tonight at Midnight . it is now 445 am and there is still no cab available in the area. Is this a service company ? A very poor one I'm afraid . I called back to the dispatch every hour or so to be told the same thing again and again. I told them I realized there wasn't a cab in the area that I wanted a cab sent to the area only to be told there was nothing they could do . if you have the ability use another service you should. No wonder Uber and Lyft are putting them out of business. They have very poor customer service. read more

This driver is the best! After waiting for an hour and a half for another taxi, he came to my rescue! I was so happy to see a stranger and I thanked him as I got in. Story: I went to another WF to work for a day. I took the yellow cab from Silver Spring to Colombia. Morning was good. But to return home if I waited for the same taxi service I would have never been on my way home. This awesome taxi driver was close by and I was told he would be arriving in about 10-20 minutes. That time frame was better than another hour of waiting for the yellow cab. I told him about my long day at work and how due to the storm we were left without power at work and how I just wanted to get home. He said he would get me home in no time. Thank you sir! Thank you. And he's getting me home safe and sound. Shout out to cab 1063! Sir you are the MVP of the year. read more

Regency Taxi - Best driver ever! - Taxis Near Me - Gaithersburg, Maryland

Great company that I have used for 3 years. Prompt and decent rates. Zero issues. Props to Bonaface.

Taxi was 15 min late from the pickup time even know I scheduled it several days in advance. I understand things happen with traffic and lights but 15 min late at 5ish AM? I ended up canceling the taxi after calling the cab company and finding he was 8 min away. Got a lyft instead. First impressions are everything and this does not give me any reason to use them over lyft or ubers. Maybe this was just a one time thing but when you have to be somewhere, being on time is everyting. read more

READ THIS:::::: !! DONT USE THIS CAB SERVICE! I am very familiar with the area in which this cab service provides taxis.. this company should be ashamed on there lack to give out good service. Many cab drivers at night are drunk, cussing, mean.. && for some reason every time I ask to pay credit card they turn mean and red!! Like I wouldn't be surprised if they are all on drugs somehow. Even the office & calling the office is terrible service! I can't stand these cabs! I can't stand the service ! I can't !! So lyft. Thank you! I will make sure I let all of my Germantown/Gaithersburg friends know how shity this service was for me. ( always had passengers ) quite freaky.... I felt so unsafe and uncomfortable! And all they want is ur 20 sold dollar bills. read more

I don't use taxi services but I am so upset that they have drivers that don't know how to park. This driver was in such a hurry to get in the store that they just parked and didn't even care to park right or to think maybe this person has kids that need to get in the car. There was so many other parking spaces that they could off go and park put no who cares about everyone else space... RIDICULOUS. I did call to complain and took pictures. read more

Recently received this message from Sherri, a representative of Regency Cab: "Hope your father in law is recovered. Apologies to you and your family and thank you for taking the time to write. Call center representatives answer thousands of calls a day. Drivers address the on demand driving needs of the community responsibly. Please give our web reservation a chance REGENCYTAXI.com and the app reservation apps.regencytaxi.com. We have worked hard to create a network of safe taxis for the consumer. Currently we have networked 20 some taxi companies so you can download our app once and use the same app in LA, and 15 other cities. Will create a promotion in the app just for you...to deduct $20 for the next rides that you plan with Regency. Again feeling sorry for not being able to achieve 100 percent on thousands of calls a day, and please know your experience is an exception to our service and hoping to gain your forgiveness." Folks, I think it's awesome that a company these days goes out of their way to address complaints and attempts to make amends. Kudos to them. And even though she went a little sarcastic towards the end ("sorry for not being able to achieve 100 percent on thousands of calls a day"), I still think the fact she contacted me and apologized is worth bumping up their rating. read more

Always on-time and they look after my dad. My 86 year old father users their wheelchair taxis. So far I have used them 5 times to take my father to doctor/dentist appointments and they have been on-time picking him up and often have had to wait for him to finish his appointment when they picked him up for the return trip. Today was a great example. picked my dad up at 9:30 as requested to drive him to an appointment. Came back at 10 as scheduled but my dad was not downstairs waiting for the taxi. The driver went up to the doctor's office and was told my father was still in the dentist's chair. The driver went back down and waited for my dad to finish. Since it is for a wheelchair taxi I have to reserve at least 24 hours in advance. Most of the dispatchers have been great, I had difficulty communicating with one dispatcher. The advance reservation and being a repeat customer may explain why we have not experienced the same problems others have raised in these posts. BTW, the correct name is "Regency Taxi" not "Regency Cab". The website is not "Regencycab.net" it is "http://regencytaxi.com/". You can make reservations online but I feel more comfortable talking to the dispatcher to ensure they know I am requesting a wheelchair cab. read more

Very nice people. 1 driver said call him anytime. Customer service is a little different.

The letter I wrote to this company due to unsafe cab drivers and rude administrative help. BE WARNED DO NOT USE THEM. -------- To whom it may concern, I wanted to let you know that I was almost hit by one of your cab drivers at Center Drive and Old Georgetown Rd in Bethesda. This happened while the cab was attempting to drive off the NIH campus at a highspeed. I was in the CROSSWALK and they paid no mind to me! When they saw me, they BEEPED and got really close to hitting me. I called and tried to report this to your company (after being on hold for a short time). To my surprise, when I went to report it, I was told that there is nothing they could do because I did not have the cab number. I began to explain that I had the intersection and that I was at NIH! She THEN was hung up on me. I am very insulted that your company will not do the diligence to help make sure pedestrians are safe from irresponsible and unsafe drivers (especially on the NIH campus). That's your business is it not? Regretfully yours, Jessica read more

I had just seen a doctor about a problem in my leg, and to save me the 4-block walk from the nearest bus stop from my home, I was given money for cab fare and Regency's number. I called them at about 4:40 and was told it would be "15 to 20 minutes." A little after 5 I called again, and was told I should have given them a more precise address than I did. Also, I should have given them a name. At this time I was told to wait "8 to 10 minutes" more. By 5:30, I still had seen no sign of a cab, so I called yet a third time, and was told they still had not found a cab for me! Subsequent calls at 6 and 6:30 (nearly TWO HOURS after my original call!) got answers that were essentially the same -- that they were still trying to find a cab for me, although the 6:30 call elicited an estimate of "about 20 minutes" more. Finally at about 6:45 the cab came. If I'd have taken the bus, I'd have been home more than an hour before I even got into the cab! My leg could have taken the pain. The $14 cab fare (and $2 for the driver, whose fault it was not that I had to wait more than 2 hours) was a lot of money where the bus would have cost me an 85-cent senior fare, but I had been given money for the cab, so I felt taking the bus would have been cheating. The first one-star rating I've ever given anyone, but Regency Cab deserves it! read more

I'm appalled at the way this business is being ran. I've taken cabs way before Uber and Lyft started for the simple fact that I am requesting a cab to go 20 minutes away from where I'm being picked up even though it's in a different County. I was told I would have a cab in 15-20 minutes call Back 40 minutes later still no cab. An hour and a half has gone by and they still can't find me a cab. This is not the first time this has happened. It saddens me if I take public transportation and go by Metro stations and see cabs just sitting there Post-it but then when I call tonight I told there is it a cab in the area I cannot believe this business is still up and running Regency you need to get it together. I've waited more than 2 years before writing this because I thought the company might eventually try to do the right thing. But that's too much to ask for this company. We reserved a cab to take us to Reagan National Airport (DCA) for a very early flight from DCA to Toronto. In Toronto, we would be making a connection to a direct flight to Hong Kong, so we had to make the first flight. About 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time, I called Regency and was told they hadn't found a driver for us yet but were still looking. At this point, it was too late to hope that Regency could honor my reservation. I called other companies, but due to the early hour, they could not tell me someone could come right away. To ensure we made the flight, we had to take our car and park at the airport for 21 days at $17 a day. Initially, Regency (Sam Bland, Business Development and Marketing Director) initially acted as if they cared about the extra costs incurred due to me bringing my car to the airport versus getting a cab ride each way. Emails from Mr. Bland were copied to Regency's General Manager Cosmin Casein and Call Center Manager Cindy Crown. But Regency stopped communicating without ever offering anything. So I recently filed a claim in small claims court with certified mail to Matthew Mohebbi, their registered agent for receiving service of process. Unsurprisingly, the company did not accept the certified mail, despite it being sent to their legal representative for this purpose. So now I will have him served personally. Thanks, Regency, for not standing by your word at every turn! read more

AVOID @ all costs! A healthcare facility used them to provide roundtrip transportation for a patient. The arrival on campus was uneventful, the patient left with the driver without issue. The return trip back was a nightmare. All of these details were worked though and approved prior, so I don't understand how the taxi company dropped the ball. There was an agreed upon time and location to meet for the return trip. The patient/customer was @ the location on time and waited. And waited. And waited. Dispatch was called , provided with the confirmation number. I was then hung up on. I called back, asked for dispatch again. Provided the confirmation number and verified the pick up location. Dispatch told me they would " send a driver." WHAT?! I just provided you with a confirmation number that verified the reservation. At this point, the patient/customer had been waiting for over 30 minutes. Why does a company give out confirmation numbers if they aren't going to actually follow through? The staff I spoke to in Dispatch were not helpful or apologetic. This scenario happened a second time. A different patient/customer was left high and dry for their return trip back to the healthcare facility. Dispatch was called, provided with the confirmation number for pick up. I was told that there "weren't a lot of drivers right now" but they would send someone soon. This company provides false hope by offering confirmation numbers. They do not mean anything. I would give them ZERO stars if possible. Unfortunately the healthcare facility was contracted with them @ the time, that is why I had to use them twice. Please learn from this costly mistake and don't use them or trust them for any transportation needs. read more

ZERO stars!!!! They have lost me as a customer and I used your cabs since 1998. BEFORE I only used Regency due to one customer service rep. What happened to Lanore? She was there for a long time and was the only CSR in their entire office to ever get my complicated itineraries correct...Everytime! She always confirmed all information, and extra details were always listed for the drivers to see. That woman's customer service went above any I have ever gotten. NOW there is not 1 qualified customer service rep in the entire company!!!!!! The current employee's are rude, don't get the information right- IF they even manage to put the information in and constantly hang up when I call about the status of my ride. After being let down for the 18th time by Regency I decided that I'd use Barwood instead. WRONG! Apparently Regency is playing Monopoly and now owns Barwood too. I'll be using Uber or Lyft here on out. read more

I reserved a wheelchair taxi and it was an hour late. A taxi can be late, this is normal, but this trip was made with a reservation ahead of time and one hour is not acceptable. In my opinion, this company does not care because there is no penalty from Montgomery county for this. Understand there is no incentive for this company to have good customer service for handicapped customers when you book because they are a basically a monopoly in my opinion. They often send a regular taxi when a wheelchair taxi is ordered. How is that even possible with today's electronic systems? And this delays things even more because there are rarely available wheelchair vans. On one trip I waited two hours for a reserved wheelchair van which never arrived and had to call a medical transport van to get home at great expense (ten times the cost of a wheelchair taxi). The people I speak to who take the calls are very nice and very helpful as far as I can tell. There is no rudeness and they are sincere in their attempts to obtain a wheelchair taxi. Consequently, I believe it is the management system that causes such hardship. This means nothing will change. Also, it appears that all the taxi companies may use one centralized system because Regency and Barwood have the same central call takers. Have no expectations in Montgomery County that a reserved wheelchair taxi will show up and no expectation that the government will do anything about that except hire a consultant to write a report. It is my opinion that Regency and Barwood are the same company so this review applies to Barwood Taxi as well.. read more

Terrible service! My wife called in the morning for a 3:30pm cab. At 3:50 still no cab so she calls again and they say someone is on the way. At 4:20 she calls again, gets put on hold. When he comes back he says there was a miscommunication and that they are rushing a cab over right away and that it will be there in 20 minutes. At 4:40 the cab arrives. An hour and ten minutes late. If a person is forced to rely on a cab for whatever reason they need to have confidence that a prearranged reservation will be there within a reasonable window. An hour and ten minutes is not a reasonable window. Will never, ever use Regency again! read more

The worst taxi company that I have ever seen. I lost my train, although I had reserved a cab a day before. Right now that I am writing this review, I am in Amtrak station and I have lost my train, I have paid another $154 for the next train, I have lost already my meeting in destination. Wish I had read customers' review before reserving a cab with this company. When i didn't see a cab at the arranged time, I had to call them four times and every time they told me the cab is on the way while I was losing my train. They had put my trip to bid only 10 minutes before the hour that a cab was supposed to pick me up. The company did not calculate that it takes time a driver would bid the deal and pick the customer up at 5:30 am that drivers mostly are off. I checked with the driver who picked me up and he showed me the recorded story. That was not the driver's fault. The company also had calculated my trip for $28-32 (on the phone call for reservation) but I paid $46 (plus tip). I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS company especially if you have a flight or train trip ahead. You will feel and experience so much pressure on yourself dealing with them and calling them back-and-forth. Choose another taxi right now and don't hurt yourself and don't ruin your schedule with arranging your trip with this cab company. read more

This is the worst company from top to bottom. Yesterday I had to get to work at 5pm. I called this regency cab company at 415 for a cab, I was told the cab is on the way 15-30 mins, no problem. 35 mins later no cab so I call back, I was told that the driver said that I was a no show. When I called for the cab, I left instructions for the driver to call me when he's outside. Well, nobody called and i told the lady that when i called back to get another cab. The lady proceeded to tell me that my address was wrong ok whatever, get me another cab quick please. Another 30 mins goes by no cab, so I call back and talk to a manager. He had nothing good to tell me as to why I still have no cab to take me to work. The manager told me he would send a cab and the cab was 8 mins away. I go outside to wait for the cab in the cold. 10 mins later no cab, so i call back and now I'm mad. I asked to speak to a supervisor and transferred to one. After a brief argument I tell him that I'm not paying for the cab ride because now I'm late for work and that's their fault. He tells me that I have to pay which i said no because now I'm late for work. This supervisor hangs up on me. I call back and no answer. Then I get a call from them and its another supervisor who tells me that he's sending a driver for me and I should please be take it easy on the driver and to sign a paper the driver is bringing. Well, needless to say, no cab, so i called Barwood cab company and they were there within 10 mins to get me. REGENCY CAB SUCKS FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM.
