Shanghai Garden Park - Water Spouting Dragon (Loved by kids on a hot day)

New to the area and went to this park with my 5 year old and 5 month old. THE PLAYGROUND IS NO…read moreLONGER THERE. There's a little bench area for toddlers and a set of swings. It was a nice neighborhood, the walking path was pretty spacious to walk with the stroller and the lawn was nice but disappointed that there isn't a playground anymore... which is a big reason to visit the park with your kids.

Quaint little park. It's a great place to go for a walk, exercise, relax when it's not crowded,…read morehave a picnic, walk your pets, for kids to play in that little playground with swings, slides, and there's a water-spouting dragon head for kids and maybe adults to play in. Unfortunately, due to the current drought situation in California, the water fountain was shut off. No splashing around under the dragon spout. It's a beautiful park, but there are miscreants who visit the park, probably at night, that do not have any decency because there was an occasion when a tree was streamed with toilet paper. There are also some people who do not pick up after themselves or their pets. The city provides disposable bags for pet owners and trash bins are around park, yet some do not discard their waste in it including alcohol beverage containers (by the way, alcoholic beverages are not allowed). These are just a few instances. Thankfully, there is a park maintenance worker who comes around during the day and clean up other peoples messes. I come here occasionally to walk around the park and get a little exercise. I do get a weird look sometimes because I'm listening to music and stop abruptly to do a step aerobic routine depending on the song and rhythm. It may look odd, but at least I'm exercising instead of being a miscreant. Keep our park clean, respect the property and appreciate it please!

This isn't a destination by any means but if your in the area its worth going ten minutes out of the way to see. Things looked to be in OK condition. It wasn't manicured like a Japanese tea garden but it didn't have trash everywhere either. It's perfect for taking your dog for a walk - and functionally I think that is one of the most important things to be happy in a neighborhood. I like something green and something that isn't concrete. I also am a sucker for something that is obviously man made - and realize that some are high nosed to that sort of thing.

I have no words to describe Ellis Lake. It has changed drastically for the WORSE! No upkeep. It's…read morejust not what it used to be since 2004. It's no wonder why Marysville is losing its charm. Being at Ellis Lake now in 2023 will just give the feeling of sadness and beyond belief of what is happening. Ellis Lake definitely has potential, but not anymore with how it is being left unmaintained. First off. Pollution: Runoff from fertilizers, contaminated soil and other products has polluted the lake from human and bird feces, poop, pee, drugs, needles, etc... just floating around on the lake. YUCK!!!! Lots off overgrown vegetation beyond the eyes can see. Too many algae blooms. The lake is just beyond nasty and stinky! I highly advise just doing a drive by, but not going for a stroll around Ellis lake if you do want to visit. Either wise, this place isn't worth it to bring your out of state family/friends to visit Marysville. Rather divert going to Folsom Lake. It's that embarrassing for what the city of Marysville has gone to in a not so positive direction. Shame. Shame. Shame. SMH! Okayyyy... bye.

Ellis Lake - I don't think I'll be hanging out on this bench.
